FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

Wow, am surprised to see the negativity on here. Only have a PC, so this is my first experience with the Ignite engine, and I'm pretty blown away.

Running like butter with no tweaks, and the presentation is pretty incredible. Some of the replays of fouls are ridiculously realistic - the way players feet collide with shins and what not.

Will have to play a few dozen matches to get a feel, but having played a lot of FIFA 14, I've noticed the following differences:

- The ball slows down! Long passes aren't useless now. Madness.
- Shots feel fine to me.
- The CPU has totally pwned me 3 or 4 times with tricky players. Nasri left my Matic flat on his ass with a quick stepover/side step
- Slow players feel slow, smaller players feel pretty nimble. Need to play a lot more before I can tell if passing/shooting/skills are any different
- I've had a lot of keeper parries already. Pretty concerning. Should be fixable, and the animations tend to look great.
- I will never understand why the kit text is so difficult for EA. Really distracting how bad it is seeing SILVA stretched out unrealistically

i am surprised that your graphics card can run the game no wonder u claim the pace is spot on maybe the controls are lagging a bit. I suggest u play and ps4 to have a well formed opinion.

Controls are fine really. No lag there.

On another note, It's nothing big but if they can sort the massive biceps and delts. They can be put on the SF v Tekken cover as they are now :D

Fully agree..first time I enjoyed FIFA again in a long time and its definitely night and day compared to 14.
Both gameplay and presentation is a lot better than I expected but one weird thing I noticed (and maybe I was just imagining it)..the game seems a lot more frantic when I set the game speed to slow. Shouldn't it be..you know...slower? Also agree like has been pointed out a million times that EA can't do proper kits/body styles to save their lives apparently..everything just feels a bit too plastic-y. Then again..FIFA has suffered for that for a long time but with these ultra polished gfx its even more obvious.

p.s. even though you lose some oversight I definitely recommend trying the broadcast cam again!

Still..I ll probably wait a month or two until to buy to hear what the final version plays like and hopefully the availability of some mods to make adboards, kits and faces more realistic.

The game running here on high , with 60 fps and 1080p . Bit frame lost on the replays .. but its ok .
My specs are
AMD FX-8320
8 GB DDR3
RADEON HD 5750 1 GB DDR5 .
I build my PC cheap. Around 350-400 euros .

But now again i understand why Konami do not release NG version for PC . Big part of PC fans are not ready of this.

I'm with Lami as well, best FIFA I've ever played. Almost had a Stevie G moment with footplanting/inertia type slip.

They only need to fix the goalkeepers and tweak shooting and I'm set.

Agree with a lot of the impressions on here, though a few things still irk me. In regards to pace "slow" continues to be the ideal pace setting for me. Still, easily the best FIFA I've ever played. They took FIFA 14 which was a very decent attempt and really improved upon it. I also play on full manual so your mileage may vary.

Game runs fully maxed out during cut scenes with the v-sync forced on in the Nvidia control panel.

Has anyone managed to get SweetFX working?

Another new thing I love. Stamina really counts late game. Players who abuse sprint pull up with torn hammies often, especially if they are older.

Only had one quick go yesterday and was quite pleased with it as an upgrade on 14.

Played 3-4 games this morning and my god, love it! So many tiny, tiny little improvements that make a massive difference.

Had an amazing game as Chelsea v Napoli which felt so realistic. When I scored, the camera was moving/rocking - anyone notice that? Like the stadium was rocking, but didn't do it for napolis goals.

Love the way the pitch degredates. Was sceptical at first, but it looks perfect.

Also the new team selection/tactics is superb. Being able to quickly go in and make small adjustments. Ie I was losing 2-1 late on, subbed oscar for schurlle and using the quick player tactics set him a slightly new position and changed his attacking bias and to stay forward for set pieces etc. worked so well and was reflected in the game - and I never bothered with this in 14 - in fact I don't even know if it was in it as it wasn't as front and centre as it is now.

Overall, it's amazing - please keep it like this ea with the keeper fixes!

(Hmmm I'm worried typing that as I now recall claiming the FIFA 14 demo to be as good as the very best PES experiences I'd ever had and the final game was totally different. I eventually fell in love with 14 but how different/poor it was compared to the demo shocked me for a long while).

I only get the option for low and high under rendering quality

is there no ultra or is that option removed because of my setup

my GPU is SLI 570 would should handle ultra if there was one?

I understand you perfectly.
Tried the demo > loved it > decided to buy > bought at shop > redeemed on origin > installed > DIFFERENT GAME.

It's been a let down actually. So I won't probably buy it straight away this time, I'll probably wait till mid-october maybe.

Really enjoying the demo. Graphics on XB1 are slightly improved on 14. The pitch looks great, presentation is great and the gameplay is still good as far as I'm concerned. I've been turned inside out by Nasri a few times. I won't be playing v CPU once the full game is out as it's no fun. I need to play v human opponents. As for player models and the names on kits, there's nothing wrong with the player models when in gameplay. They look fine. I honestly do not know why some people fuss about them. It amazes. The kit fonts I can honestly say I could not give a toss that they are a little over stretched on some players. That type of thing makes no difference whatsoever to the gameplay. You read over the years that it's all about gameplay and then I read this bollocks... again! Haven't had any issues with keepers so far either. Overall, it's a great demo. Don't see a lot of the issues some go on about. I think some people forget its just a game at times and a very good one at that. I play decent football on manual and just don't worry about half the stuff some of you guys do. Relax and enjoy it for what it is.

Wont be able to wait myself - and as I say, I got used to it in the end, but it wasnt as good as the demo (though those memories fade and you end up getting used to the new way of it playing).

I'm almost tempted now to not play the demo again now so I dont get too used to how well it plays!

I'll download the PS4 version today and have a go on that as thats the one I'll be playing once its released, but after today, I may uninstall it and wait for the 26th!

My Xbox Live subscription ran out yesterday and I missed out by a couple of hours from being able to download the demo for Xbox 360. Seems like it's a Gold exclusive for now.

Was looking at buying an Xbox One with FIFA bundle but hopefully one of my local game shops has the demo installed so I can try it out first. If all else fails, I'll just buy the 360 version and if I don't like it return it.

For anyone that has an Xbox One - do you how much data gets used when you play online? I have a 30gig data plan but my two friends who are looking to get the Xbox One as well so we can play against each other online don't have big data caps so I want to make sure they don't walk into a trap.

Does anybody know how to expand a match lenght ? Any file that has been used for FIFA 14 might be working properly for 15 as well ? Obviously, on PC version.
Try this:
Use wordpad to create a file cl.ini in your fifa15 demo folder and put these lines in:

HALF_LENGTH = 10
AI_SETTING_HALFLENGTH = 10

Note that players will be super fatigued with 10 min.

Curious what difficulty setting you're playing on?
World Class and Legendary

I had a similar experience, did you download it on xbox one ?
PC

please someone let me know if the game can run smoothly on high at 720p -
i3 2120 3.3ghz
8gb ddr3 ram
r7 250x 1gb ddr5
It should be more than enough. Try the demo.

I have played a few more (PC, world class and legendary, 10 min halves):
- with some slider tweaking it gets somewhat better, but:
- even with tweaked sliders, AI leaves huge gaps in midfield for opposition players
- defenders are semi-broken; when solo attacker with the ball goes through the middle (30 m from the goal), most defenders mark very poorly and often move away from the attacker leaving attacker 1-on-1 vs one defender while others just watch. This is worse than in previous FIFAs
-corners are also worse than in previous FIFAs: AI takes 80% of corners with short pass to the first available player instead of the long cross. Also, I have played as Borussia and Hummels was controlled by AI; he was covering Cavani at the corners and every time that Cavani went 30m from the goal (before corner was taken), Hummels followed him.
-AI defenders clear the ball when pressured and that is ok but they do it too often (even Barcelona defenders?!)

BTW I run the game at 1920x1080 high settings without any problems (PC, Win 8.1 64 bit, i7 2.8 GHz, 12GB RAM, ATI R9 280X).

The Boca Player got sent off, The Dortmund player standing in the way makes it look like he got sent off.

Pretty clear ain't it. The Boca player comes up behind him and holds his body in a kind-of physical testimony to his sins the moment that the referee brandishes the death-card. The Dortmund player, who is pointing down towards the ground indicating where the accused will be sent, has simply mistaken his position and for that he will probably be cursed for life so there's no need to worry.

There are no longer available in what time will match start? (13:00, 16:00, 20:30 etc)? :/
Also, why there is no dusk/afternoon? Most games in Europe are played on nice sunny afternoon.

This...

Actually, this post can and should be edited to include the game name and genre for EVERY video game as it perfectly explains how we all should view video games.

Excellent post mate
