FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

Finally. The Instructions tab sounds like it could be very interesting. Bit of a shame they've kept the same old Tactics sliders though, I'm sure there's a better way that could be done.

I was thinking this too, but it looks like it could be a great start.

Do wish they utilized more screen space. I guess this for multiplayer but still.

I'll be curious to know how the individual player instructions interacts with player individuality.

They should just copy Football manager there. They've transitioned brilliantly from sliders IMO.

EA Access is a great deal, play the games five days earlier, 10% discount if you buy digitally which I was going to do anyway, means I also try games I'm not sure about such as Dragons Age and Madden, can't wait for NHL first though

It isn't, not when you used to get free demos. I rather not have to pay at all to try a game.

I just got over £100 worth of games for £20 and a discount on future digital prices. Bargain for me.

So you buy a 1 month subscription for £3.99 and can play Madden 25, FIFA 14, Battlefield 4, get Madden 15, NHL 15, FIFA 15, NBA LIVE 15 early even if i'm not getting the full game and get 10% off the new games?

If that's right it's a great deal.

Yep. Get a years sub and it works out at £1.66pm. Absolute bargain as far as I'm concerned.

Good news is the new layout looks faster and better presented.

Bad news is there is very little new aspects there and the new things like individual player roles look ready for the usual one dimensional golden tactic route where certian play styles are infinatley better and suit the game more than others regardless of what mode or gameplay setting you play.

Its essentially the same age old rigid mechanics just presented better. Good by ea standards for tactics.

We will need to see a true revolution in tactics for any substantial change in gameplay, fifas biggest problem tactically is how rigidly the off the ball runs and movements are programmed in conjunction with momentum.

So you got the game earlier than us, tested it for 2 months in a career mode, against the AI, tried different combinations of settings, a variety of tactics, different difficulties, against different teams, in different leagues or offline multiplayer ?!
Really you're a genius, thank you for saving my money.I won't buy any fifa again. :WORSHIP:

I like the look of the the new "Instructions" section of tactics but it's not clear if we can customise and save every team's entire suite of tactics to be completely unique, unlike previous FIFAs, where there have been only a limited number of save slots for tactical settings which then have to be shared across all of the teams (unless you leave the very generic defaults). Not exactly sure what the Team Sheets are, particularly with reference to the fact that only 6 can be saved. Is that 6 per team or 6 in total?

One of the key things with tactics is how it affects how the AI play. I want to be able to completely customise the tactics for every AI team and then see them play to those unique tactics, otherwise single player just feels like playing the same team over and over, with the only real difference between teams being higher ranked team being faster than lower ranked teams.

Rumor that there will be no Fifa demo, you will have to subscript to the EA acess to play the game early. At least with Madden 15 will be like this.

Oh, and btw, the EA acess crap is only on XBO.

Makes more sense now that Sony passed on this. paying a subscription for old games and locking demos away behind the paywall. Even the 'discount' seems poor when the digital prices are so ridiculously high to begin with. Terrible future ahead if this continues.

A word of warning on the EA Access:

I've asked about this, Subscribers will be able to access EA games five days before their release date and play them ‘for at least two hours’ before they’re officially available, with the likes of FIFA 15 and Dragon Age Inquisition specifically mentioned by name.

It states at least 2 hours, but that is generally the limit on grandstand games, and is not a lot of time. It's very cleverly worded but it's in their T&C.

The good thing is that a lot of games will be added to their vault in a 10 months time; the likes of Fifa 14, Madded and Battlefield 4 are already there to download - so you're basically getting 3 games for £20 if you subscribe now. It does, however, take a long time for future/recent games to be added.

You know I've not tested the game which is the whole point! Ea have a history of cutting corners and bugs within its tactical interface.

I've looked at the preview to see what exactly is brand new in terms of commands ingame and there is very little, it's mainly a much better, quicker shatper interface to improve navigation.

You know how ea are, if the tactical change is a big one they would had made it one of their biggest selling points way back in e3. Thats how they work, my cynicsum comes from last years game which restricted basic freedoms at times to favour momentum and badly programmed commands to preserve the game playing only in one style.

I think you can actually. Possibly with the 6 team sheets per team. I could be mistaken but that seems to be the plan, althoigh that could be 6 team tactic settings which don't alter the formation and player roles.

This is something I've been doing on pes since 2011, this worked well in fifa 10 custom tactics projects when the freedom in fifa was at its very peak.

2 HOURS?

I thought it would be unlimited like the season pass used to be. 5 days early access and then you carry your data over to the full game.

That was my thinking too. It seems it's not like the Season Pass which I thought it would be. It would be nice if this was 100% clarified, but it does say limited time on games prior to release.

I'll try and find out more.
