FIFA 15 News & Discussion Thread

You know I've not tested the game which is the whole point! Ea have a history of cutting corners and bugs within its tactical interface.

I've looked at the preview to see what exactly is brand new in terms of commands ingame and there is very little, it's mainly a much better, quicker shatper interface to improve navigation.

You know how ea are, if the tactical change is a big one they would had made it one of their biggest selling points way back in e3. Thats how they work, my cynicsum comes from last years game which restricted basic freedoms at times to favour momentum and badly programmed commands to preserve the game playing only in one style.
So you aren't interested in what EA offers. Why bother posting then?! To make it a better product! I don't think so.

So early access 5 days early is just a 2hrs early. Good job EA!! That's why sony refused that access on their platform.Apart from 10‰ discount it's not a big deal unless they stop releasing demos so they don't have to develop demos anymore.

The real question here is why are feeling so insecure about my post?

Im going to play it against friends anyway and it's something I've been campaigning for a long time so it's interesting enough for me to post on.

If I get 2 hours on NHL to decide if I like it then great. Same with the other games.
People constantly whine that the FIFA demo is different to the final release so at least it's the finished article. No whining then.
Not sure how Sony can say it's not good value after the shocking prices they came out with for PS Now (or whatever it's called).
You get a trial of the game, discounts in them and then some freebies. You can trade in disc versions of some of the games included, get to keep the game by DL'ing it and get some money back which will cover the cost of your sub.
Some people are only happy when they are moaning. It's not extortionate. I don't buy all games so ones added to the vault for basically a rental of x amount of games for £1.66pm is a bargain.

A word of warning on the EA Access:

I've asked about this, Subscribers will be able to access EA games five days before their release date and play them ‘for at least two hours’ before they’re officially available, with the likes of FIFA 15 and Dragon Age Inquisition specifically mentioned by name.

It states at least 2 hours, but that is generally the limit on grandstand games, and is not a lot of time. It's very cleverly worded but it's in their T&C.

The good thing is that a lot of games will be added to their vault in a 10 months time; the likes of Fifa 14, Madded and Battlefield 4 are already there to download - so you're basically getting 3 games for £20 if you subscribe now. It does, however, take a long time for future/recent games to be added.

2 hours in 5 days!!!

Its OK to test the games you normally wouldn't play but fucking awful on the other hand if you want early access to smash a game your planning on buying.

Strange decision if you ask me and makes me not so sure about the deal now. I was more excited about getting 5 days worth of new games rather than 4 full old games, 2 of which i wont play.

We are taking this overboard. I seriously doubt they won't release a FIFA demo. If PES release a demo and FIFA doesnt. It means FIFA players can try a new PES for free, while wating on a new FIFA game. EA won't allow that.

Insecure?! About what as if I'm playing the dated product or something!
It's just you never mentioned a single aspect you like about the game that's all.
Enjoy whatever you like anyway.

I'm totally on board with the full game trial instead of a part of the game(demo)
Some people might think it's not worth downloading full size game as a trial.
What I don't like about the early access is the short time.
2hrs isn't that long.BF4 has 168hrs trial (6 days) on pc for a limited time.As for the price it's a bargain I know but it will benefit EA to encourage those who don't buy packs or dlcs.
I wish it was on PS4 to try NFL, NHL, NBA. I wouldn't buy those games unless I find them interesting enough. As I have no knowledge about them.

I've just read that you only get the 'at least 2 hours trial' if you pre purchase the digital copy on the stores.
So you cant do the 'trade in disc and then use the subscription version when its added' idea.

:(

It seems that not even EA knows wow the EA Acess will work, the only thing they are sure is that they want your 5 dollars per month for giving you nothinh worrhy in return. Even the old season ticket worrh more than this because it was cheaper and it gave you a lot of Ultimate Team packages in return.

Guys, what it says is that the Early access will stop working at least 2 hours before the full game is avalible to buy(5 days after u get the early access, Sept. 23th in the US)... u can play the game for the hole 5 days, than 2 hours before the game is on sell for the 59(53 with the discount) dollars it will stop working.

"‘for at least two hours’ before they’re officially available"

Now what i really hope is that we dont need to re-download the hole game if we already have the Early Access one. Would be great if it would just keep working after u purchased the full version...

http://www.polygon.com/2014/8/11/5991063/madden-nfl-15-no-demo-ea-access

Rumor that there will be no Fifa demo, you will have to subscript to the EA acess to play the game early. At least with Madden 15 will be like this.

Oh, and btw, the EA acess crap is only on XBO.

Thank god i couldnt sell my Xb1 lol

That's a bit better then, but I'm still not buying it on the basis that you have to then buy it from the store to get the discount. I'll just pre-order from Shopto as usual.

Good info though

10% discount plus cheap MS credit and probably get it digital for close to £40. I end up with digital copies on both my son and my console so considering I paid £55 for 14, I'm happy with that price (or thereabouts).

FIFA 15 gamescom trailer coming tomorrow, 9am UK time.

A cheeky Howard teaser is up.

The season ticket works the same way?

The season ticket works the same way?

Theres no Season Ticket anymore..

This year the early access to FIFA(and other EA gameS) is exclusive on XB1 through this EA Access app. U can subscribe it for only one month at S4.99 and get FIFA15 5 days before launch, play it until the release day and get the full game for $53.33(10% discount).

Thats what im doing, and in the meantime, in this month u can play BF4, Madden 25 full game, Madden 15 Early Access, NHL 15 Early Access and NBA Early access, plus u can buy any of those new games with the 10% discount.

For me its a good deal :D

Update after the initial announcement:

While EA initially declined to comment on the reasons for the lack of a Madden 15 demo, an EA representative reached out to Polygon after the publication of the story with the following statement to provide some additional context: "The difficult decision not to do a demo for Madden was strictly a result of the team's commitment to deliver the highest-quality game possible. We chose to put 100 percent of our development resources toward the full game."

Sounds as though only Madden isn't getting a demo then from this.

YouTube - FIFA 15 | Official Gameplay Trailer | Next Gen Goalkeepers

fifa-15-next-gen-keeper-header.jpg

Goalkeepers have been completely rewritten for FIFA 15 with over 50 new save animations, improved AI and a new, realistic player model. Our Next Gen goalkeepers are more responsive and fluid when they move and look and think like real-life keepers.

The main changes to goalkeepers are:

Improved reactions

fifa-15-next-gen-keeper-04.jpg

Keepers now read and react to gameplay situations, adjusting their movement if going in the wrong direction, and making last-ditch saves by reaching back or throwing out a leg. FIFA 15 also brings a new level of realism to the way keepers react to shots that are difficult to handle. Where previously goalkeepers would catch most balls they touched, you’ll now see a new range of authentic deflections and tips as keepers try to make a save.

Better decisions

fifa-15-next-gen-keeper-02.jpg

Goalkeepers make better decisions in one-on-ones and when tracking the ball on crosses, corners and through balls towards their box. Keepers in FIFA 15 command their area with more awareness and intelligence than ever before.
Goalies will also read the flight of balls and you’ll see more variety in how they react to swerving, dipping or turbulent shots.

New Ways to Score

fifa-15-next-gen-keeper-05.jpg

With keepers more mobile, it opens up new scoring opportunities for attackers. Your opponent recognizes goalkeeper movement and will attempt shots back across goal, nutmegs or quick shots which will leave no time to react.
