FIFA 13

Yeah ridiculous decision that makes zero sense, is it because of boosting for MP or something? I don't play MP so why am I punished? And yet of course you can buy boosts in the EA store...

I don't really play Clubs or even use my pro online at all, but I kind of liked having my pro in the team and achieving his tasks. Can't understand why is it a problem to use the Career mode to build him up, what else are we supposed to do, play kick-off games and friendlies? Strange decision, not very well thought out and also illustrates just how much more important online modes are to EA. Always the short end of the stick for people who like offline modes and slow burn style of playing.

I used my Pro in career mode on Fifa 11 but I found it to be quite unbalanced after awhile. I was playing for Real Betis in the spanish 2nd division, surrounded by sub 75 rated players and my character was 85 at the age of 23. I didn't use him in Fifa 12 as I wanted a bit more of a challenge. Strange decision to completely eradicate the option for other players to decide whether or not they want to use their pros in the mode. Surely they can create an offline and an online profile for each?

Maybe its gamespeed vs reaction times of players. Ive read both being mentioned so maybe that is causing some confusion. Not that I know as I havent got the game.

-lot more cpu fouls so far
-the way the new fast free kicks work is pretty good
-challenges between two players, blocked balls etc. are a lot better, more realistic

so far a lot of very good improvements.

i enjoy this more than pes, sorry :(

CPU fouling.. :BOP:

Yeah there is a lot more fouling which is great, I played about 5 games in my MM and I have had at least 4 freekicks just outside the area (Scored one :DD) and many others in other areas of the pitch. I got nowhere near that many fouls in 12.

My console froze as well and I had to restart the xbox, must be a problem with early access version...hopefully it doesn't keep happening.

Can someone tell me the following:

Is the italian serie B licensed this time around?
Is the distance between first row seats and pitch fixed in stadia like bernabeu and camp nou?
Any on the fly option in the final release (no kinet)
Any sign of real world adboards?

What's the issue? Why wouldn't you be able to use your 'career' pro in Career Mode? That's bizarre :X Is it that you can only use them for the 'Playing' career? That's a pity.

As for the split, I think the unified VP was just viewed as a bad design decision for a variety of reasons. Hacking and boosting primarily, but not only that. Why they'd not allow you to have an offline Pro who you can use for everything else though, I have no idea.

Wasn't Tottenham supposed to be scanned this year? Saw a video of their player faces and most of them were not. I remember seeing a picture of Vertonghen being scanned...

Had a nice moment against Spurs where Cisse got hold of a long ball and was running towards goal, Dawson was struggling to keep pace and I guess holding my shirt, I broke away and got a shot in which was saved for a corner and then Dawson got a yellow card :)

Want to play with Padova?

I hope everyone is enjoying early access. I am thinking of getting FIFA this year as well as PES, since the FIFA demo quite impressed me with the new features and all the sliders. Just a question about squad updates and transfers: do EA provide these in a very timely fashion, or do modders do a better job like in PES?

I shall be playing PC offline.

All done for you now automatically

One word to describe this game, fun!!
I think that's the problem - I was really looking forward to both games this year but PES is still so stat-driven that in the ML a team will break out chainsaws and shotguns to keep you from getting into their box (why play a game you can't win if you're not "supposed" to), yet every game in FIFA so far has been non-stop possession-switching high-paced Hollywood-style action with no build-up play.

I'm guessing this is just my little "getting to grips" period but I'm looking forward to Football Manager already. Will hammer FIFA tonight and see if I can get the love back...

Oh, as for the demo chat - I don't think anything's changed from the demo full-stop. Until a developer says as much, I don't think it's any different. It just seems faster and more ACTION ACTION ACTION because instead of 3 minute desperate bursts, it's now 6 minute desperate bursts...

Haven't played the full game but from my experience with the PES demos that's pretty much how PES plays too, one counter-attack after another.

Playing the game with Manual settings (except shooting which is semi) with 7 minute halves on Pro setting and the game is already feeling like the best since PES6 (not better than though) I actually have to think when I pass or move.

Career mode will be a joy this year.

My only problem is the headers!

A question for you guys with the full game, do you notice any difference in the way CPU-teams play?

I'd also like to know this. Anyone tried tinkering with custom tactics yet?

They used to have some effect a few years ago when EA first introduced them, but then they seemed to remove their effectiveness - they left the option in the game but no matter what tactics you set for a team, all teams just played the exact same style, just that some teams were faster/stronger than others.

For example, has anyone tried setting a cpu team's custom tactic to a long ball style and then that team actually played a long ball game?

I'd say say its better. Did you go back an play the old PES game? I loved the old PES' back in the day but I wouldn't go back to them now.
