FIFA 12 Discussion Thread

Is everybody setup on EAsportsfootball website with their persona so you can track your info?

All my FIFA stuff in the past was connected to ...@googlemail.com
When I logged into this years version, I signed up as ...@gmail.com and linked my new EA Origin ID to it. Problem is my persona is linked to googlemail, not gmail. I try to change it but can't.

I e-mailed EA 3 weeks ago and basically asked to delete the gmail account so that the EA Origin PU6HY becomes available again. I can then link that my googlemail login which has the persona (not EA origin ID) linked to it.

The doughnut at EA has asked me for the same information a few times now and I'm losing my rag with him now!

As it stands, I can't look up any stats or manage the club I'm a member of via a PC.

All this because I started login in as gmail and not googlemail well over a year ago. Surely it can't be hard to just link the accounts? or do whatever they have to do to sort it? :(

Im scoring evan via early crosses, u should try that, but make sure u have the right man well positioned in the box, thats as important as the cross itself imo. Oh and try to anticipate the defenders(eg: if ure crossing from the lower part of the tv to the top, move down with your attacker after crossing so he can anticipate the defender)

are these chip shot goals where you're very close to the goalie and so he's essentially made a dive to try to get ball off your feet and then it goes over his head or ones where you're further and he's standing up and you loft it over his head?

Because I've been able to score the FIRST situatoin a couple times at least but the latter which was the common one in previous FIFA's seems nearly impossible now! They always just jump straight up (Like I said as if they KNOW and EXPECT you to chip them) and get some fingertips on it.
 
@ PU6HY,

Have you tried the "live chat" option? I did that a while ago (for 11 I think), aswell for different email accounts, and they changed it whilst I was still chatting/messaging him. Was really impressed with the service tbh.

If you mean I should sprint away from them - I try; but still if you shoot while a player is near you, there is no time to start running away. Sometimes yes, but too often they grab you haha. With this "impact engine" they should let you break free from your player's hold.
 
Apologies if this has already been mentioned but I searched and couldn't find anything here or on google, but I quite fancy at some point playing a Spanish CM or League mode, and fancy having proper Spanish commentary but there's no option to switch to it (it offers either English, French or Dutch) and I went into the EA store and they don't have any commentary language packs at all.

Is there no Spanish in the game then?!
 
I bought the game in North AMerica and the options are English, French or MEXICAN SPanish commentaries just like last year. So I think it depends which version of the game (Which continent) you buy from.
 
Bought it here in Belgium and language options are: English, French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Czech and finally Dutch.
 
I'm really impressed by the player individuality this year.
Dribbling, passing, shooting has an impact on how a controlled player performs.

Even more impressing is that AI controlled players (try to) use their strengths. e.g. Stuttgart's Kuzmanovic attempts to shoot from any distance, whereas other players try to win one on ones.
 
Can everyone here do all the tricks in FIFA without any problems? Maybe thats my issue with FIFA, i know the tricks inside out and use them too much to great effect. I mastered them all abck in 08, and in 09. Also did back in the World Cup game. I use them a lot, because they are almost too effective :|

I mean when playing this weekend i was doing tricks round all my mates players but kept screwing up when faced to score.

I had a game where i tweaked the sliders to amke it slower. I was Croatia, i managed to score with Corluka just dribbling and using tricks past 4-5 players.

I maybe i should stop using it!
 
I've never really made an effort to learn the tricks. I use shot-fake and cross-fake, and I might try the occasional single stepover... but that's it.
 
Yeah I only use fake shot and step overs too. I like to use fake shot then pulling back in the opposite direction to do a Cryuff turn. In FIFA12 particularly they've made it so that you really don't need them.

And yes Nick i do them with League 2 sides as well. It's mainly Keepers who have 0 star skill moves, if they have one star even i'm doing step overs and ball rolls all over the place.

That makes you a bit silly IMO :) Although I do like taunting opposing forwards by passing back to my keeper and having him do keepy uppy until the forward wakes up and decides to close down, only when I'm winning comfortably though ;)

No, i mean in general gameplay in terms of creating chances. it's just easy to beat players using tricks. I don't use them to take the piss. I use them because they are effective. Because as you all should know. There's barley any individuality, i can just do what a i like with practically anyone :) .

You're using tricks as the only judge stick for individuality? Please don't change my opinion on you. I always saw you as someone who creates lovely debatable posts on the pes side. But your posts here leaves me with a bitter taste in the mouth.

We all know how much individuality there is in this year's game. I know how much I suffered when van Persie got injured and I had to ensure a few games with chamberlain.

Hi, sorry about that, i know how i made it sounds but there's no way I'm judging the individuality just on the tricks, don't worry.

What i mean about the tricks is simply that they are too effective that's all. all it is really is that the tricks encapsulate the whole 'having too much control of things you shouldn't in terms of realsim.' in FIFA. The game being 'too clinical and predictable in areas' for me.

Moving away from tricks what i mean by their being poor individuality is that i play with any team, any random team i can think off. One game i played with Austria Wien vs my mate who was Bayern. Thing is i lost 2-1 to a mate but the ball control is just exactly the same of everyone, precision dribbling is again, exactly the same for everyone, tricks differ due to star level but are still too clinical. I was able to play the same way with them as i did with Arsenal the match before. Was there a difference? Yes, but not enough to force me to play differently at all really! I want the game when it is necessary to force me to hoof the ball or play defensively on the counter etc.. because my teams technique is so shit there's no point trying to dribble.

There is individuality but nowhere near enough for me, although it's enough for you to play up to it.

I try to master most if not all aspects of the game to get a 'full' picture of it. I never found Tactical defending hard at all since i defend similar to that all the time. In general i've not master things like shooting since i haven't played it enough.

Anyway, I'd like to talk about how shit Arsenals ratings are. Not that they should be higher, just that they are all wrong. Theo Walcott for some stupid reason has i think 4 star skills (or is it 5 star) which is madness since he can barely control a ball let alone perform any of those advanced tricks, his Ball control is too high. Rosicky has 65 for acceleration which is beyond ridiculous, infact most of his stats where well off! I mean i looked at the ball control for most of our players and most if not all of them i strongly disagreed with. Why is Vermalaen's Ball control so low, he's a ball playing center back :CONFUSE:

This better be sorted in January. :RANT: and yes i see the hypocrisy and irony I'm moaning about Arsenal players technique and other values but i say there's not enough individuality. So I'm moaning jargon for the sake of it. Then again it will help me when my friend chooses the Classic XI! (he does that every time he losses badly against me).

:P I do the odd one here and there but I have never even looked at what the tricks are, I no longer play on-line and 1v1 against a mate is good fun how we are. I want the tricks and the skills in there, don't get me wrong, I just never learn them...
 
I've never touched the tricks.

Your only argument that I'll come close to agreeing with is with regards to everyone having similar ball control in only bringing the ball down. In terms of ball control with regards to dribbling, there is good individuality there.

Maybe I should pop by the pes discussion thread and whine about everyone feeling too fluid and the immense drop in individuality compared to pes2011. Thank goodness I didn't have to rely on konami this year.

Tricks are great but you don't need them this year, In the past I felt you needed to beat a man or two to create openings but now passing it around and carving the opening up is much more effective.

Well, do: because things like Step overs, roulettes and ball rolls can be useful

But don't go overboard and learn everything because some of the crazy ones are too effective!

It's fine, all nice and quiet in here, comared to the drama in the PES section.
 
Well I bought this last week, mainly for online as PES 12 is just terrible online.

It's the same old stuff really, first thing I got stuck into was UT as it used to be a fun mode, spent 1200 w/ pts on packs and got David Silva, sold him for 50k and made a nice little team. Nothing too spectacular.

Won my first game 9-0.

Won my second game 4-0.

Lost my third game 3-2 after no matter what I did I could not for the life of me clear the ball, and he scored a finesse from way outside the box that curled right into the bottom corner. The same goal I've seen online in FIFA 11 about 7500 times.

That was pretty much it for me, I've played my mate quite a lot with our 2 teams on the play a friend thing and it is easily the most fun I've had on a football game, but for the wrong reasons... it's just a mess, the impact engine is just shocking 90% of the time, some of the things I've seen wouldn't look out of place in a WWE game.

Clubs is a disgrace again as well, got through 5 games before calling it quits, it's literally like the exact same game as FIFA 11 in clubs, I just don't understand it.

Also, I had a midfield trio of Arteta/Gotze/Wilshere and since I was done with the game, I gave all my 30k coins to my mate who enjoys it, he gave me Milsom, a bronze player from Aberdeen who when I put into CAM was actually better than Wilshere/Gotze and Arteta, he was going through his team with ease (dribbling of 67) and scoring for fun as well, think he got 6 goals in 3 games or something.

Highest result we had was 6-6 that went to penalties, I lost.

My mate with his 100 chem scottish team, like 4 golds and the rest bronze/silver scored around 25-27 goals (can't remember the exact number) in 3 games, and didn't concede one.

How can people enjoy UT? lol

Anyway, I've played enough games online from both football games this year to realize that I won't be playing any of them online this year, and sadly FIFA just doesn't do it offline for me. I've already got someone willing to buy the game off me for their kid for £30, so I'm going to snap their arm off for that, I only paid £18 as I traded in Dead Island for it anyway.

IMO to pull off tricks relys on a few things.

1. The player. Try tricks with neymar even a retard makes them successful. Try tricks with John Terry you prob lose the ball.

2. Position facing when applying trick. NO point spinning 360 and know to left when it runs you into a defender. You need to perform tricks that will lead you into space etc.

3. Right trick at right time. YOu need to learn in this game at moments situations were certain tricks work best.

4. trick combos. Sometimes comboing tricks can make effective..eg. roll ball over left, roll ball over right, dummy left, knock right, this type off thing always gets the defender on his arse lmao.


FOr me tricks are very well implemented on fifa 12 as it takes experience and knowledge to make them effective IMO...though sometimes and with some players tricks often easily come off or never work at all lol

ANyway for me loving the tricks in fifa 12,

For me when I go Porto or play with Neyamr its trick city. Porto are a wicked trick team, the midfleidles wingers and forwards are unreal. I play tricks all day long with Porto and score loads of goals an make chacnes with tricks. But i got like a team like Celtic I rarely use any advanced tricks....its all about the teams and players. Very well implemented IMO

Check my sliders in slider thread. Just try it you wont regeret it nothing to lose.

HOnestly I thought the game was murder now I play non-stop all day...addicted like hell.
 
I don't know how many of you frequent Reddit (and I know that I haven't been on here in awhile) but a former EA employee is venting and airing some dirty secrets about the company and I see this near the bottom of the list:

Now...it could be BS. I don't know how one would even realize that this is happening. I'm not saying that I believe him and I apologize in advance if everyone thinks this a silly conspiracy theory, but everything else he said sounded legitimate. As in, it wasn't so screwed up that I was like "no way ANYBODY would do that" and not so bland and typical that it could be considered trumpeting the same old "evil corporations" BS.

I've long since returned FIFA 12 to the rental store but I'm just passing this along. I give FIFA a lot of shit, but this sounds crazy.
