Disagree. I find I play better when I do exactly that.


I suggest that you're not shielding the ball well enough, if that's the case. The RT Shield is pretty powerful, and I've always said that the key to keeping the ball is to not show it to the defender. To me, the CPU defenders clearly only go in for a tackle if they have an angle on the ball. Don't give them that angle, then they won't.

Hope they can fix that, everyone has been so positive so far, was at the point of looking for the best deal to buy it myself, but those goals look so familiar it has put me off a little I must admit.
 
How can they pressure so much online? Are they changing the defending? It seems i have no time to play as they are constantly on my back, i thought that was being sorted out?

Haven't had much time on it really, one day, but I really enjoyed it. Haven't played enough to notice too many flaws but AI is nowhere near as good as PES so that's a massive negative. But otherwise I found the game to play very well with sliders.

I get back to England on Wednesday night and I think both games might have had a patch since then so will be interesting to see if any improvements are made.

But as it stands right now, two very good games and pleased with both.
 
Can someone explain to me how to start a manager mode game without being forced into having my virtual idiot in the squad?
I have the options of download latest, default + vp or customized.

No option for just default squads.

I'm picking just the middle 'Manager' option but time after time my vp is in the squad and I'm either being forced into doing a player manager game or there is a doppleganger. This is so frustrating.

So, you're choosing the Manager game mode but your VP is still in the squad? Is the team you're choosing the same team you assigned your VP when you first created him? If so, he'll show up in their squad. Just assign your VP to another team, or choose to make him unattached to a club in the edit pro settings.

I've been trying the game in the new camera, it's so much easier than in old broadcast. I played two games as Juventus v Bologna, same settings/difficulty, one game on broadcast camera, the second on the new game camera. On broadcast, I lost 3-1, had only 48% possession and 7 shots on goal. Then I switched to the new camera, won 3-0, had 68% possession and 21 shots. Hmm.

The game looks and plays slower and more realistic looking on broadcast, somehow it looks and feels faster and more arcade like on the new camera, but it is a lot easier. Not sure which to choose!
 
I've tried changing my vp to a different side and he still shows up in manager mode in my team. I've set him as a free agent, tried numerous other teams and like some horrible STD he keeps popping back up in the squad. I have no option to start with just a default team. It only offers default + vp.
I tried 'download latest' but he still appears in there.

I'm guessing custom might fix it as I could force him out but then it becomes unranked and I like having the rankings data.


I did want to start as a player and work my way into management but my vp has stopped growing. None of his stats improve because I'm not on world class, online, or a defender/midfielder. Scored 22 goals in a season and won the golden boot award yet my finishing stat and shooting stats remained the same the full year. The way your vp stats improve are a mess.

So I'm stuck as some 77 rated striker struggling in a team managed by poor AI and my rating at the club takes an age to increase. It's going to be season 6 before I can become a legend and I don't think I can stomach another 3 years.

At the beginning of a CM, you can choose with wich players you want to play. You can download the most recent squad. If you do that your created player will not be there...so you should restart your carreer...
 
I haven't scored a header from a cross yet. More disturbingly I've noticed that unless you have the player speed sliders set to default or higher, you can get one player on the ball and walk around the pitch all you want until you eventually get into the other team's six yard box. It's totally broken.

Seems the only choice is to play this thing as it was straight out of the box or not at all. And it's far too fast out of the box, even on slow :(

But seriously, I looked at it in disbelief after realising (mainly because I'd never tried it before) that you can walk the ball into the other team's goal. On World Class. With just the sprint speed and acceleration sliders reduced. You can dribble a certain distance while the AI contains you and it never makes a tackle. If you keep your distance, keep dribbling and constantly moving, you can walk it into their penalty area then make a 1v1 with the goalie.

Oh well, for a week I thought this was the best football game ever made now it appears to be a broken shambles :( Did they even test the sliders?

Tried that about 6 times and my player still keeps popping into the Newcastle team. I thought that maybe because he's set as in the newcastle team in the VP edit menus that maybe that was the issue so I checked the exhibition sides and he's not there. But just to be safe I moved him to free agent.


With my VP set as a free agent, I download the latest teams... but he still popped up in the squad.

I put VP into liverpool, I download latest squads... he jumps from liverpool to my newcastle team again.

I tried picking 'player manager' and downloaded the latest squads and this time it looks like it might work... as the next menu I'm given is 'choose existing vp or create a new one' But then obviously he's in there as its player manager.
 
I've been disconnected from opponents in 2v2 matches so many times due to us not having same squads. Is there anywhere we can go to within the game to ensure we download the latest squads?

I managed to score a few headers from crosses, with Defoe.

I changed the defending back to 'legacy' as i found the new defending a bit unrealistic. I dont have any issues with dribbling up the pitch without being tackled. Maybe because of the 'legacy' defending, maybe it changes the way the AI defend too.
 
I've scored some great goals from crosses, headers, volleys, tap ins and an amazing overhead kick from adebayor.

When crossing, try holding down the modifier too - on my controller is r1. And my crossing is set to semi.
 
I've asked this before, but got no help so try again.

I've got replays saved to hd (ps3) and when I go to the replay theatre to watch them, it says "you must be the lead profile to view replays, please set a lead profile in MY FIFA -> PROFILES"

Something like that. But I only have one profile and going into the profiles section it shows the one profile and says it it the lead one. There is also no option to do anything in that screen (I.e. set a lead profile etc).

Really frustrating :(

You find the new defence system unrealistic but then you use the old one?! Seriously?!! You find having to press a button at a certain time to tackle unrealistic and just holding down x forever and just letting your player barge into someone more realistic? The new defending system is much better... if you know how to use it properly.

The game is totally unbalanced and has serious problems with positioning and AI.

Forwards will ALWAYS receive unmarked, you can exploit the long grond passes again in multiplayer and turn the game into a counters fest with no human way to prevent it.

Tactical deffense is absurd. Its hard to close down, but once you're in target, it works the same way as always, just run to the guy and you will dispossess him.

I'm constantly barge off the ball from behind even if I shield. Automatic tackling when you are close to defenders is too powerful, at least it should concede 10 times more fouls to make sense!

Al is worse in the tactical sense. Sidebacks can totally ignore their position deffensively, specially in counters, even if they were not attacking. Man markingjust DOESNT DO A THING. Midfileders can stop trailing and opponent and just watch the play from 20 yards, making runs of the opponent lethal. At the other hand, it makes counters too powerful because they're standing alone in the center of the pitch.

You cross and you either score or it's a conter. No way to prevent that stupid black hole in the midfield.

Long pass and high thtrough balls are again easier to do than ground passes, somI faced pele that would constantly use them. Besides, Deffensive AI has terrible problems with it and sometimes they will stop or let the striker alone by no reason on 30 yards passes. It's due to the forward run being railed and controlled by the AI while your player gets selected for you while the ball is travelling high.As you don't have time to react, it means always danger to the defending team.

Honestly, the knock on as it is is a game breaker. Stats should impact greatly this feature, as speeds are unbalanced. Llorente was running the whole pitch with the ball, being quicker than my whole team. It's a joke, honestly. Everybody taking Napoli because the forwards will receive alone, as always, then turn and run.

The game it's amazing on animations, technology and all, but everything it's either overdone or depending on very poor AI, so it ends up being the most frantic ever Fifa this gen, with a tactical side that is practically missing.
 
I've had brilliant moments, too, don't wantto sound so negative, and shooting is simply astonishing. It's only that me and myfriends ended up easily exploiting the game and scoring too much and having absolutely crazy. Atches all the time, because build up is again useless, there's no reward to play football, only gaming skills.

And as a game is very very fun and exciting, only it doesn't require any footballing skill at all.
