Fifa 12 Career Mode Discussions

With Liverpool they always go on about Gerrard............every game. Bloody Towsend going on about how he wants to see Gerrard in a 4-4-2! Football has moved on! Feel like dropping him just to shut them up. :)
 
Can you call for a substitution as a virtual pro, because really its embarrassing, my pro is like pulling his leg a couple of times, and gesturing (you know the famous take me off the pitch hand wave thingy), and in the end the pro gets severly injured due non substitution and gets like three months out of the play, :D btw if you play with the assistence settings etc get it to semi and manual, wow its much better, less frustrating, :D
 
So has anybody else taken full advantage of the customisable leagues in CM? I set up a 4 tier structure using the English leagues with teams from around the world. The Prem having the best teams, NPower Championship having decent teams and so on. I'm in League 2 with New York Red Bulls at current. All of the teams i took out are dotted around the world randomly, i could have sorted them out in a more orderly way but it would have taken longer and i wanted to get into CM ASAP. I'm sure the only thing it'll affect is the Champions League equivalent but i'm in League 2 so i don't need to worry about that.

Well I'm shocked, pissed off and massively disappointed, for all that Simon did with CM how the hell can he not have given the finances an overhaul?

I just won the League 1 title with Wednesday, I got zero prize money, a whole £25,000 from the board for getting promoted, then next season, nothing, zero, nada, zero fucking extra transfer funds to help my team in the Championship, pathetic :(

So for yet another Fifa I have to spend my whole time signing free transfers and selling them again to make some money to survive and when I get to the premier league I'll be stuck on a league 1 wage budget same as the last 4 fucking Fifas, thanks so much Simon :(
 
That's not good. I'm only 4 games in but I'm getting battered, I just can't defend. One draw and three losses, conceding 3 goals a game. I don't know how but I keep conceding the most basic goal where a pass is made to a striker who just dribbles in a semi circle and is somehow through on goal, with no chance of my players catching him. Really odd.

I loved the transfer deadline day but the transfers are ridiculous. Man Utd have sold Nani, Hernandez and Rooney and bought only Modric. Some major teams are flogging off their star players within weeks of the start of the season. Again, really odd.
 
Just tried moving back up to World Class for my pre-season friendlies, yikes got battered, really un-enjoyable, game seems faster and everything, didn't like it, doesn't help of course I get friendlies set against the likes of Schalke :(

Yeah transfers when you first start a CM in particular are just ridiculous and the kind of thing that should have been spotted, noted as an issue and fixed well before release.

I can only recommend people spend some time before starting CM transferring the most unlikely transfer candidates out of their teams and back in again as mentioned previously it will stop, or at least delay their transfer.

just sell your good up and coming young players and get a bunch of loan players with good ratings or else just get murdered in games. I had to sacrifice also.:CURSE:
 
Well I'm selling the free transfers I signed last season but even what they bring in is only enough to add a few players to my team, I signed in 4 or 5 new free transfers but the free transfer pool this year was very poor, only 46 players in total and most of them <60 OVR.

God I hope that doesn't apply for when you get promoted to the Premiership else I'll be joining your crusade!
 
I've not had that problem really, started with Newcastle who have a £13M budget, and sold some players who put in transfer requests to up my total to £31M to spend!

I've brought in Shawcross from Stoke, good young CB, and signed Holtby from Schalke for £14M. Look him up on youtube if you've not heard of him (I hadn't until I came across him in this game!). Great young player.

There are some brilliant touches in this game. Concede a goal at home, St James' Park, and the away crowd celebration sounds are almost silent, and tail off within seconds. Great bit of authentic audio. And I finally got my first clean sheet of the season with a 0-0 draw away at Villa, and the cut scene after the match was of some of my team, including my own virtual pro, congratulating my keeper. Awesome.

Also like how new signings get a bit of coverage before their first game. Also really nice.

So I'm second from bottom of the Premier League 5 games in, two draws, three defeats. I've caved in and changed to assisted passing and shooting, and to compensate increased passing error all the way up to 80 for both teams. Plays better, both teams generally finish on 70 odd percent passing accuracy. With passing error on, and the TV style broadcast camera, passing was too hard for me on semi.

The game does feel faster in CM than in friendlies, so to compensate you can still lower the sliders even further. Sprint speed, acceleration, passing and shooting speed have all been taken down a tiny bit and it feels like the game you have in friendlies again, more realistic for sure.

That is, as I said in the other thread, my massive groan of disappointment to discover a near guaranteed goal every time. Very, very annoying and maybe a game breaker for me :(
 
What the fuck do I need to do to win a game? That's seven matches now without a win. The AI seems to go right up the pitch and get one back within minutes of me scoring.

Twice I've taken the lead in the last 10 minutes only for the AI go grab an equaliser within 90 seconds of me scoring, and now I was leading Wolves away 1-0, scored a second to seal what would have been a comfortable 2-0 win on 83 minutes. Then the AI went crazy. On the slower slider settings you can see the boosting the AI gives itself. AI players started moving faster than before, like they're turbo powered, and within six minutes it was back to 2-2. Felt largely like there wasn't much I could do about either goal.

At first I thought I didn't get the 35k per week in loanee wages back as I started the new season with £1.5m for transfer fees and 0 for wages but believe that was because I had the bar at 100/0 for the budget balance, 1.5m converts to almost exactly 35k per week in wages if you put it the other way, so it means I got exactly 0 additional funds/wages for the new season :(

Just sold Lennon to Newcastle for £17.5 million which i was more than happy with and bought a very pacy winger in M.Krasic from Juventus for £19.5 million, seems good so far. Best signing to date and one player that i always buy in Fifa is Naldo (CB) from Werder Bremen, an absolute snip at £10.5 million. Other signings include:

Remy from Marseille for £22.5 million (amazing signing)
Ansaldi from Rubin Kazan £7.5 million (getting good now)

Just hope Man U come back in for Modric at the end of the season. They offered me £41 million on transfer deadline day but i refused.

It's really odd, but I'm noticing that world class is harder but the opposition take less long shots and do far less skill moves than on Professional. The AI on WC still just about feels organic though, I tried a game on Legendary and it was awful, AI felt really robotic. Gonna avoid Legendary and if I improve I'll start making it harder for myself through lowering assisted levels etc
 
CM LIVERPOOL season 1
1st league match at home to Sunderland, played well and created some good chances, hitting the post with a great Suarez shot. However in the 70th min. they score from a corner to make it 0-1. I switch my team up and bring on Bellamy and he manages to dribble past to players and slot the ball in the far low corner. Final score 1-1. 2nd match away at Arsenal, comfortable game although Arsenal had more possesion. Downing opened the scoring (60th min) from the left by cutting inside and slotting in it in the far corner. Then in the 70th min. he took the corner that found Gerrard free in the box to make it 2-0. The team were leading 2-0 and just keeping possesion. At first the away crowd were cheering every pass but then the home crowd started to boo, haha. In the 89th minute (was hoping I could recreate the real score again) I conceded a freekick near the sideline near my box, oddly enough my two man wall comprised of Carra and Agger, so obviously Mertesacker (at about 8foot tall) won the resulting cross and they scored. Went up the other end to keep them away from my goal and managed to win a corner and score to make it 3-1 in the 90th min. I thought that was the end of it and eased off, but they still managed to get a goal via some good dribbling from Gervinho and make it 2-3 FT.

As for transfers, everybody wants to buy Carra! Was thinking about selling him so played Coates in the final friendly...0-3 loss made sure I have regected every offer. I've got a 22 mil kitty to spend, but with everything done I'm just keeping quiet and waiting till next year. Well that was until Atl. Madrid came in with a 19.5mil offer for Agger! Decided to stall and try and get Cahill in. Offered 12mil but got regected, then 15,5 and got regected so ended up offering 16mil and a decent contract to seal the deal. However by that time Madrid had withdrawn their offer so with about a week to go I now have an option to sign Cahill, which I don't really want if Agger is staying. But maybe if a good offer comes in for Carra I sell him on and sign the younger option for about 10mil net.

The top transfers so far are; Modric to Utd for 41mil, Di Maria for 31mil to Chelsea, Augusto? to Arsenal for 24mil, Nani to Spurs for 20mil and Hernadez to Juventus for 20mil. Besides Nani and Hernadez the rest seem very real to me.

one question, is there any way to get an overview of all transfers that happened, within a league and also worldwide?

had the same problem. went back to classical defending, and from legend (which i used to play) to world class. still got smashed every game.

now i got it sorted, it's a bit odd but i keep pressing 'pressure' and 'fair tackle' constantly together and have player switch to 'ball in the air'. this way i chase the cpu while my team mates do all the rest. works fine for me on world class.

i play 4-4-2 with one dmf and a tactical combination of 'high pressure' and 'ball control' btw. the high pressure part for defensive options and the ball control settings for attacking. that's about my custom tactics.
