Fifa 11 Xbox 360/PS3

best moments of the demo was at the start when i seen kaka controlling the ball which wasn't existant in previous fifas.
but its sad when the best moment is one touch.
overall the demo doesn't excite me, i like some new additions like how they try and remove stadium view while making a sub into showing a players stat which i guess is better but it doesn't feel like something new which is a shame and i would still feel ripped off paying £25 (assuming supermarkets still sell them at that this year) for a game which only seems like few minor game improvements

I would also question why there was a touch on the Huguain goal - is that FIFA doing it's usual thing of not allowing first time shots?

This is the best footbal game ever !!!!!!!!!!!

i can't stop playing

Agree, it's really impressed me, cannot understand where the negativity is coming from, it looks, sounds, plays awesome :)

I'm not even connected to the net via my Xbox.
Will keep myself entertained by the positive impressions so long :)

It'll be available on torrents/http/usenet shortly :)

AI is impressing me quite a lot in how they build up their moves, so far I played against Real Madrid, Barcelona, Leverkusen and Juventus they seem to play differently, Juventus especially seemed to play very Italian IMO, lots of short passing and triangles and such :)

Played as Real v Barca and I conceded a penalty and Messi Panenka'd it down the middle the little fucker!

for me it looks, sounds and plays exactly like fifa 10 and to me it will ruin online play for me due to ping pong fuckers out their.

Exactly. You guys are being waaaaaay harsh on FIFA. Wow. The game is quality. I can actually pass the ball back and forth in midfield with barca. You CAN put a defender off balance with a turn from Xavi (did it myself). The sound of the crowd as you rush through on goal is unreal man. Like a proper match. (if we're going to compare the two) I played PES a little (not enough to make a full judgement) but I can tell you it's not FIFA's level from the few games i managed to fit it. It just isn't. Great that konami have made it a fluent experience with bags of indiviuality but whoa @ FIFA. I wish I could show you some of the vids i made. EA's replay service is down though.

One thing that really disappointed me with PES2011 actually was that twice with Barca my defence was AWOL and i wasn't even usuing pressure at the time. Bayern were attacking me 3 v1 at one point! lol. Anyways, The rest was quality. PES is solid this year and deserves our support imo.

I'll review both demo's after i get back from playing pool tonight :CONFUSE: Need to hammer out some more on PES though. I must say though, i'm surprised (genuinely) at some of the stuff that was going on in FIFA11. Arshavin held the ball (LT) with 3 guys coming at him and drew a foul when they came back for more! Iniesta NUTS'ED a defender and then beat the last guy to the ball on a break only to fluff the cutback but got fouled in the process!

Oh yeah and PP is still a bit too soft. I wasn't too conrned as some of my defense misplaced passes and when i tried to put the ball into a space through a gap more often than not i lost it, even when Xavi or iniesta did it. When they nail it though it's a good feeling. More lateral error on PP would be nice though (if you misjudge the carge of the bar or the direction is off).

I found that if your pass wasn;t crisp it gave the defender time to close you down from behind which was a fair downside to a poorpass imo. Anyways, this is far far more playable than FIFA10. I pray manager mode has no bugs.

Chamak is a beast in the air btw!!

btw ping pong passing is doable but scoring chances from it are v.rare from my experience trying it out with assisted settings. 180 passes should be out the game imo though. But i must stress, this demo alone shames FIFA10. The dipping shots you can do are quality. I also drilled a low one from ouside the box with lampard into the bottom corner. Need to play more with leverkusen though.

Really? Hmm, my initial impression was the only difference was the CPU was actually doing skill moves. In fact, they seem to do skill moves maybe a little too often, and sometimes when it makes no sense, like doing a spin move in your own half. I guess I'd rather they do more than less cause at least it adds variety.

Still really upset with how much of a physical fou-fest the game is - I'm always feeling like I need to get the ball to a bigger player and don't feel the advantage of having the ball at messi or iniesta's feet like I should. It's better than before but skilled players are still way undervalued while drogba is the greatest player ever - he's even an amazing tackler, I get the ball back with him all the time. Also, legendary is way too easy, at least defensively.

Oh and you have to also realise that some refs blow more than others now. hey have different personalities. Andy Gray mentions it. The lenient ref in my other game let EVERYTHING go. It actually fraustrated me cause i was getting raped by chelsea's big tackling midfield.

Could you guys list what the CPU averages in passing accuracy against you, and on what difficulty?

I'm playing legendary and world class and the CPU is rarely dropping below 90%, which seems like the WC game and is too high. I sometimes get beat but never get dominated and yet the CPU accuracy has never dropped below 85 percent.

A concern for me is shouldn't PP have an impact on the CPU too? Because right now I'm seeing the exact same level of accuracy as the WC game.

Are your experiences similar?

Blame the online kids for this, who just want every player to be basically the same so pace and skill of a player count for jack..
Can't believe the number of whiny posts there are about fast players being fast...

Online twonks are stifling FIFA...

I posted my views in the impressions thread but just to summarise, manual FIFA is awesome this year. Seriously guys you need to persevere with it. The people complaining about the game that are playing on semi or assisted are really missing out big time. I tried out PES and it's lamentably bad compared to manual FIFA 11.

You really need to utilise skilled dribbling with players like Messi, Iniesta is so good at making space just with regular dribbling because he has such quick feet, the best thing for me is how if a defender gets too tight behind you, you can just "roll" them when you get the ball into feet, it looks so realistic. I think there is still some elements of overpowered physicality but the physical battles are vastly improved, I've had situations where Messi has held off two or three people. The games are much tighter now, you might only beat your man once or twice in the whole game so you have to make sure you capitalise on those situations. Personally I love it, on manual against professional AI the balance is just about perfect, and the game is so organic played like that I really feel FIFA is going to have so much depth this year, it simply blows PES out of the water. Can't believe the people saying close FIFA forums etc. the king is back, I played one game and it made me feel physically ill, what the hell is that camera angle all about.

But yeh, manual is the future guys. I can't believe how good it is, every issue has been ironed out. The only thing I reckon could be improved is making the through balls more powerful as I sometimes have trouble playing it into space.

You nailed it mate.

Just how slow dribble is important for PES, it's important for FIFA now. Don't dash into midfield withXavi and expect to walk past players. You have to earn it with clever stick movements. Cannot believe how hard i suckered defender on world class today. Made my day reallly (sad, i know). You can also release the ball really quickly with the talented guys too.

I made an awesome bit of play with nasri and fabregas and it got to Bendtner (?) and he mishit the toe-poke. It looks so realistic.

I think the problem EA have is it's possible to play badly and win @ this game. Once they cut that nonesense out then they're onto a winner.

Agree 100% with Placebo, Machinaex and gameklip. FIFA11 has improved and ironed out all the negatives from FIFA10 in every possible way.

Demo of the year for me... :)

Scorpio ( thanx for messages over psn earlier btw), love your enthusiasm mate but although I can see it's a better game straight off, I can't share your happiness. I do need to give it more time and I'll be bashing it after the Arsenal game (that sounded weird). But I don't think it's that far off the World Cup game. Gamespeed is brilliant, but it's all very very similar everywhere else. Probably not a bad thing as WC I found very enjoyable. Maybe EA are a victim of their own hype machine. Spending the last few months hearing about pro passing and personality +, I was expecting more of a wow factor straight off and I was gutted I didn't feel like that. But I am noticing more as I play. But I do feel it's more tweaking under the hood than any major advances.
