FIFA 10 360/PS3 Demo Feedback + Videos

So you don't like any football games. Why are you on this site then?

I thought that maby by posting simple errors that fifa has some one from ea will maybe fix them. and plus i cant believe that i have been the only one to notice that in fifa, players like messi can dribble the ball with his right foot just ass good as his left foot. I dont think that this is something hard to noti and to fix, but it seems that people from ea dont watch and or play soccer.

Very true, it's my biggest gripe with the demo. The fact that players do things the same way on both legs.It really ruins the realism

Actuallt, David Rutter tweeted
watching the england game with the FIFA dev team =)

so we can safely assume that they have watched at least one game of football. Honestly what do you expect from one year of development time? I can't think of any game that will change more in only one year, if you want more change then wait two years.

Also I can reassure that the reason why the game isn't perfect is not because they lack ideas of what they want to do but because they have a limit of what they can do in each game. The dribbling with wrong foot thing I'm sure isn't exactly at the top of their list if what they want to do, and I'm quite certain they have a list of a lot of stuff that is more important to the game(/rs) in general.

Loving the demo so far. The freedom of the attacking play is superb.

Just scored this peach with Diego on all manual...

:))

That's not a peach, that's a f*cking grape... :O

HEADERS WTF !

They have fucked headers up for some reason. No one else notice this ! They seem to have gone backwards with this one, I hope they sort this out before release, I know there was a big difference between the 09 demo and the finale game, so here's hoping.

If they don't I am not buying, so will be checking reviews before I do.

I've seen a few powerful headers. But they were all when the player could go at it with speed.

BUT, every corner, no matter how I strike it, seems to land on two players who have been standing on the same spot waiting for the ball to arrive. Also the ability to move the players is quite poor, while in PES you could instantly use super cancel (which takes a second in FIFA to activate and release control to you) or just hold R2 (dribble key) to slowly inch them into a position where they could then attack the ball in a certain angle. In FIFA the player just crowd onto the spot where the ball is going to land, and stand still, before almost always heading it over, I think I've yet to see them heading it into the ground or atleast in a downward angle.

yeh, thats really annoying , its been like that since fifa07....they need at add some ramdominess to corners, its really that frustating..u dont evan see more than 2 players jumping for the ball...really scripted.

Last night I scored a goal like that, it's rare indeed.
Apart from the shocking ones where the player heads the ball over the ball whereas he's very close to the goal, I think headers are better than 09.Been scoring some nice goals with them

Dribbling with the wrong foot seems to me a very unimportant thing right now compared to other major flaws we all (almost) agree, such as some dodgy goalkeeping, CPU AI, chipped balls and (sometimes) teammates positioning and runs.

In fact, I watch Messi play every week and I tell you he deifnitely CAN dribble with the right foot, and he even scores with his right foot if necessary, even if as a lefty (such as myself) and most of the time he only uses the left foot.

We all would like to have stats impacting even more the game (is impressive the improvement of fifa 10 in this department) and I'm sure devs would like to also, but right now is not by any means urgent, critic or a game killer.

If it is, I'm really sorry for you, because there's not a single sports game that does this to that extent nor will be in the next years surely.

show me a video wear messi has more than four touches on the ball in a row. look when your in the arena mode dribble straight towards the goel and you will see lampard dribbling, he gets one touch with the left and one with the right. that is so unrealistic, this you will never see in real life. i think that this is way more important than goalies because in real life goalies make mistakes, not as much like in fifa but they do.

Have nobody acknownledge that in EVERY fifa 10 demo posted, players keep rushin everything, passes, shots, ive never seen a player receive a pass and that he had time to stop the player, control the ball and look for a teamate...all ive seen is player moving forward as soon as one of their player receives a pass... and thats what make it look unrealistic to me at the moment...no time on the ball, I wonder if its the pitch that is too small or the game is just made that way, press analog stick toward your opposite goal as soon as you receive a pass...

Quality player. Im a manchester united fan, and also been very lucky watching Ronaldo over the past few years. Anyway, going off-topic, but from where I was sat at Old Trafford 18 months ago (semi final- Paul Scholes game :APPLAUD: ) Messi was right in front of me in the 2nd half, and absolutely did Evra with a trick so impressive, using such quick footwork, it is still ingrained in my mind. It was magic, in a split second he was standing still in front of Evra, and in the blink of an eye, right on the other side.

Will try and do in Fifa 10 now!

Like Leo said, PLEASE VOTE FOR "IT'S TOO FAST" IN THE FOLLOWING POLL:

http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/...peed-thoughts-comments-vote-here-discuss.html

This will make or break the final game, it will be the difference between an enjoyable online mode which rewards patient build up play or a button mashing sprint fest.

There is an actual EA staff member on the forum listening to what people say in response to this thread, so DO WHATEVER IT TAKES, comment on the thread, register multiple accounts and vote more than once if you have the time, it really is that important. Even if you are holding out on playing the demo, still go in and vote because the final game will be so much better for it!

This is what I posted on there:

MunrajHyare you are a legend! I hope our concerns make it to Dave Rutter and the dev team and it would be simply awesome if it can be tweaked for the final game, if not for release then in a post-launch patch.

Here is my post on the subject, which a few people seemed to agree with

http://forums.electronicarts.co.uk/11235513-post80.html

I can surmise that the following factors are contributing most prominently to the game speed issue:
- Constant AI pressure even in non-threatening areas of the pitch
- Instant trapping even when controlling fast moving balls
- Sprinting tackles are too effective so players are not encouraged to jockey
- First time passes are too powerful/accurate
- Crosses from deep positions too powerful

I hope that helps and gives some ideas on what can be done to improve the game!

We have a real chance to put pressure on them to make these changes so get to it! :) :)

I'll go along with everything but the crosses being too powerful....

Nick, that was in reference to the deep crosses that the AI whizzes in with an unrealistic level of pace/curve, I actually think crossing is really good but could be tweaked slightly.

Also, I've been wanting to say this for a while, I think it was romagnoli who discovered you could double tap the cross button on corners to get more of a "driven" cross, well you can do the same from open play - I wonder if that was the "button combo" that Chris has mentioned on the podcast quite a few times.

I do those all the time in the demo. It's probably because I'm used to holding RB/R1 in 09. Try that. The majority of headers I've scored have been like this. What I want is a real power header.

After reading through all these pages, it seems the general consensus for those wanting slower game speed is that the CPU aggression is high which in turn has the user playing faster to avoid losing the ball or being tackled.

Posted by the EA rep on that post. Which is good as it shows he is/they are reading the thread and already know how to tone it down. Sounds like he's right as well, it's not so much the speed but being forced into rushed passing which is making the game feel quicker than it needs to be :)

Here's hoping for some tweaks!

I'm so excited for the full version

I hope they do look at it, it makes for a damn ping pong fest on the higher levels...

My bad i thought you meant our crosses, they are still to weak and floaty for me, they still need work... ;)

@Nick: I didn't manage to get pas round the keeper and finish into an empty net.It was really good because it really needed timing and precision in terms of angles for the skilled dribbling I used.It looked pretty realistic like the sort of stuff you'd see the real pros do and it felt not so easy to pull off which is great. It makes even more rewarding
