FIFA 10 360/PS3 Demo Feedback + Videos

I scored sucha a lovely goal but couldnt save it as i got signed out of ea servers last night.

A goal I hadnt seen on a football game, basically Barca broke, played in Iniesta running towards the touchline who back heeled it to Zlatan, just in the box, who did the OMG moment. He sort of scuffed it on his left foot first time, didnt go too hard, and it curled into the far bottom corner along the floor. I was shocked as I thought Buffon would save it, then when past him, sure it would therefore be wide, but no it clipped the post and in.

Probably not explained it well, but never seen a goal like it in a footy game. Kinda like van Persies vs City but other foot, other corner, other side of the box and far slower.

Actually sounds nothing like van Persies but hey

Anyway, EA have done a good job bar a few tweaks needed.

I've hit a few scuffed shots as well. Can't remember the exact circumstances but I think it involved some clever del Amauriego interplay that led to Del P running through at an angle to goal with a defender on his case. The angle was a bit too much and he was travelling at pace so he did that shot-and-collapse animation while the ball tamely bobbled intoa defender who threw himself into the block.

Just had a decent game playing as Juve vs Barca, I changed to a 4-2-3-1 formation with Camronesi, Giovinco and Diego (doesn't feel right) supporting Amauri.

For the first time I was able to have some decent possession of the ball and had some time to walk (great feature btw) and think.

Some of my cross field balls feel floaty, the ball doesn't move quick enough per se.

Those 3 are awesome up front.

Also fun is 3-4-3 with bayern.

3 centre backs.

Altintop van Bommel Tymoschuk and Schweinsteiger in the middle

Then Ribery and Olic off the striker

Klose/ Toni as the spearhead.

Very attacking and good fun with Olic and Ribery doing damage, with Altintop and Schweinsteiger overlapping.

I don't want to seem like I'm defending FIFA 10 all the time but I think the cross field passes are just fine. What I like aboutthem is that they don't all follow the same type of trajectory- some float with backspin, some have a lot of swerve because they were passed with the inside of the foot, and some are driven, low thumps (defenders, usually). There is one type of long pass that I'm not so keen on - they seem to go unnaturally high. I think the player hits it with the laces. Could do with toning down.

^Agreed. I tried last night and the different passes seem totally contextual. What's obvious is that more strength equals more altitude, while I achieved some driven passes with less power.

I've noticed that they don't all follow the same path, thats a good thing.

I have misjudged some too because I can't see the ball, I think that's because of the dusk setting though.

Who on earth would wear that to work? :FAIL:
Look, for the last time, the missus had been pissing around in my vests drawer and when I wake up in the morning it takes me five minutes before I can open my eyes. I threw it on, I went to work, it was just my bloody luck that when I got an itchy chest and my shirt flew open someone was there with a camera. I've never going to hear the end of this am I?

I think that's one of the downsides to the different arcs. I guess it's just a case of getting to know what to look out for in identifying the types of lob.

I struggle spotting the difference between the Barca home let and the referee in all black. I think that's the dusk and my tele camera. I'd love to be able to choose the ref's kit though.

Just scored this goal on all manual against my brother. Keepers are on amateur though because we think it makes players run less when we arent controlling them - slows the game down very nicely for those playing with a human. :)

This goal seemed very organic to me..was very happy that my manual pass from iniesta landed on messi's foot, and i LOVED the way messi straightens up his body to look at the goal before executing that lovely new finesse animation.

Looking at it closely it might have been a weird 360 degree dribbling branching animation glitch...but it just seemed so right.

 Ahh, banter.

Well, as far as this demo is concerned, at the same stage last year following the release of the 09 demo, there were a hell of a lot more negatives, so EA have obviously done something right. Again. The only problem is that we have to wait until October 2nd for the full game, which will mean a lot more problems and niggles arising. So, for the sake of sanity, can we all stop playing now and perhaps look for Forza 3 or COD:MW2 videos? ;)

I agree mate,

p.s Love your sig too, he has a head like a fucking orange

HEADERS WTF !

They have fucked headers up for some reason. No one else notice this ! They seem to have gone backwards with this one, I hope they sort this out before release, I know there was a big difference between the 09 demo and the finale game, so here's hoping.

If they don't I am not buying, so will be checking reviews before I do.

i think fifa 10 is more of an update to fifa 09. the main basic things have not improved 1 bit and i dont think they will be able to make these changes in less than a month.

I scored a great header in the demo, Lampard corner and JT headed it past the keeper, really powerfull header too mate

Do you mean heading or battling for position before the header? I thought heading was fucked up at first too but I've learned how to do them know, all about timing, and I love them now. Battling for position could do with loosening up a little bit though (FIFA09 exaggerate them a bit, but it should be as rigid as in FIFA10).

You have to time them more, and I actually feel they are quite good and requires skill. Yes, they are different from 09 but if you can switch off your 09-thinking and learn it form the ground, I think you'll get it. It's most likely one of those things that you'll get once you get in to the game more. Also, I think the CPU is very different from human players, even though I rarely play the CPU in the full game.

I feel the keepers aren't quite as good as I'd hoped. They seem to still be unaware of where the goal is in certain situations and general situation awareness. Falling in to the goal when a cross goes 2 metres over the bar for example, and I conceded a goal when I rushed the keeper out while the ball was on the side line, and a CPU player got there before him and made a cutback pass very close to him, but he chose to continue running instead of a simple block.

And to illustrate further, I captured this video: http://www.easportsfootball.co.uk/media/play/video/9251225

That should never be able to happen.

Man in my opinion this demo feels almost the same as fifa 09, only that because i had not played fifa 09 in a long time it kinda made it feel a little bit different. first im going to start by saying that it seems that davis rutter doesnt watch soccer, the reason why i mentioned this is because you will never see messi have more than 2 touches in a row using the right foot. this game feels like if there is no differnce between players abilities with their feet. the only place wear you will see messi use his right foot to dribble just ass good as his left foot is in fifa. in real life players tend to move their body in a certain way that will get them confterble with the foot that they know how to use better. the only good adjustment that i feel fifa has made is the skilled mode, because this does happen in real life. watch this video and tell me how many times messi touched the ball with his right foot.also the jostling mode is a good idea only if you implement it the right way, which i think in fifa its not. (YouTube - Lionel Messi fantastic Player)/QUOTE]
this is the reason why i think fifa 10 is shit

I think you made your point evogerman. If you want FIFA to change I suggest you write something in the official feedback forum if you haven't already.
