FIFA 10 360/PS3 Demo Feedback + Videos

Rob I did one of those "over the top" clearances from the trailer and almost missed the ball, making it backspin in to the box :SMUG: Looks like they aren't so scripted that I was afraid of.

Nah, I've tried it on the demo and with 08 and 09. It doesn't change the fundamentals of the game for me.
 
Yeah I think that people that didn't enjoy FIFA 09 at all won't enjoy FIFA 10 either. It's probably the same with PES 2010. The games aren't going to be completely different now like the first step FIFA took on this generation of consoles.

Pretty much. FIFA 10 is just a refined version of 09 so your opinion wont change if you didn't like 09, as you say.

I don't think we'll see many more radical changes to FIFA gameplay now, I think they've pretty much got the engine where they want it.

I enjoyed 08 and 09 but they didn't keep me playing on a regular basis for more than 2 or 3 months. I'm still buying Fifa10 on day 1 and I hope it has more longevity for me.
 
Full manual is deffo the best way to play this. Tied with the 360 movement you can put the ball anywhere. I'm moving how the ball doesn't stick anymore and the scraps for the ball in midfield. Also blasting or sprinting the ball down the line doesn't work anymore. It's alot more thoughtful build up game of football..excellent from me.
 
From the videos you lot have been posting, it doesn't look that much different to 09.

The animations actually seem to have lost a bit of flow though, and the players look horribly skinny.

Oh and the speed is at Pro Evo levels, looks quicker than 09 and I thought that was way too fast.

Then again, I've not played it yet so I guess I can't comment properly.

So like everyone else made their reviews I'm gonna make mine having downloaded the megaupload files,extracting them into one "content" file and burning them onto a DVD-R-.
Positives:
-better passing
-more control in terms of dribbling and freedom of movements (you can walk with and without the ball and by walk I really mean it, Trance_Alltsar and Gab covered it well)
-much better shooting
-beautiful long passes,switching sides has become great and rewarding
-great new animations in terms of defending and even attacking
-the player and the ball feel heavier
-quick free kicks are so much than in PES2010 as when you play them you gain a real advantage
-talking about advantage, a better and more sensible rule

Negatives
-retarded keepers but like everyone said they did it on purpose when we look at their stats however it is worrying for the lower league sides.
-obviously 2 X 3min is very short
-difficulty is too easy, I'm having an easy time scoring even playing on all manuals
-at times defenders do these silly automatic clearances whereas I told them nothing
-gameplay set at "slow" is still too fucking fast for me

ps: for all the members who haven't had the chances to play it yet or won't play it let me tell you this.If in the videos the game looks like 09 then I perfectly agree but I really thought the same but once you've grabbed your pad you notice the huge difference.
It took around 30seconds to like it as it felt heavier (I mean the players and the ball) and more responsive

2-3 months is good, i played pes08 and 08 for not longer that 3 weeks before getting bored to death....

Yeah I know what you mean. What modes do you play? If I didn't play Clubs then I wouldn't have been playing it that much. I did play BAPS a lot too, but every mode where you control every player I think is pretty bad. It just feels the same every match. I'm not sure it will be better in FIFA 10 to be honest.

That's the thing, it wont look much different to 09, why would it? They've kept the same basic engine and refined it, tweaked it.

It's not until you actually play it that you see the changes. Whatever your thoughts are of 09, you'll enjoy 10 that little bit more basically. It's still essentially the same game.
 
Was anyone on here expecting a massive step up from 09, I see a few "it looks just like 09" posts popping up.
I thought it was always going to be an 09 make over more than a leap forward; again I could be wrong but i wasn't expecting a whole new looking product...

Lower leagues should be fine as the strikers in the lower leagues wont have high finishing stats anyway and wont give the goalies the same shots to deal with as they're facing in the demo.

I'm in the minority of people that play mainly offline. I play a bit of MM, some custom leagues and tournaments. I do play friends online quite a bit (1v1) but never ranked matches as they make me sad at the state of humanity.

I played quite a bit of 10v10 last year but I didn't really enjoy it, even with friends.
 
I hope you're right Dags because as I play a lot on lower league teams in France and England I hope that the experience won't be that frustrating.
I wish I could upload videos (I can't connect my console online) as I wanted to show you the use of the new switching sides possibility.
Very useful now

Same here mate. I'll be playing in lower leagues (especially after seeing the achievements/trophies mean you get rewarded for bringing up a lower league team) and I'm sure it'll be just as good :D

I've been trying the "new tricks" but they're so tough to pull off and the worst thing is learning in the arena and doing them on the pitch is so different.Mainly because of the angles

On top of that, how the hell is it supposed to look? It's football ffs. Green pitch, nets (which are fine) and 11 v 11. Of course it looks like 09.
What else is a game of footy supposed to look like?

Unless there are rule changes where you pick the ball up instead of passing it about with feet, I don't know what people really expect???

Tried fifa 10. Better than '09 that's for sure, and the animations are great. But still missing something imo. Playing with Diego feels exactly tha same as playing with any other player, like Molinaro for example.

It still lacks that individuality. Every player still feels similar.
