i think what he is saying is that if u play with a different speed that u like offline and then go online and its different it will be a bit tricky, i guess its something u can get used to, but i still see what he is saying, i like the gameplay to be a bit slower, to me its more realistic that way, i love fifa 08 but i think it could be a touch slower, although not having ur finger on the sprint button helps, i hardly ever use the speed button, only when im clean through on goal, makes a big difference

Well as I said, if you're going to play online and your worried about not being able to adjust, just use the speed that will be used online.

Exactly! just stick to normal if you are going to play online! and if you decide to change well thats your problem... as if you had all sorts of speed settings for online it would be stupid I will be sticking to Normal speed also

They probably had a sack load of complaints about the speed of the game and thought giving the three options would stop that, now they'll get complaints about giving the option... :LOL:

I think it's a good thing to have the option there, it will mean the game will cater for more people's tastes.
People who liked FIFA 08's slower, more tactical approach will be able to enjoy the slower pace.
People who thought FIFA 08 was a bit sluggish and Euro/PES was too fast will be able to have something inbetween.
People who like a faster game, similar to Euro/PES will be able to play on the faster setting.

Sometimes, I am really not in the mood to play FIFA and have to use my brain a lot while I play, and just want to play a more action packed, faster paced game like PES5 for a bit and at others I want to be able to play a slower paced game like FIFA, hopefully FIFA 09 can give me the option to play both types of game in one.

I hope that we can choose the speed in unranked matches at least, having it as an offline-only feature would be a bit silly.

The PC version of FIFA 07 had the option to change game speed online.

Thats how its gonna work Rob, ranked will be set to "Normal" while unranked will be optional.

The speed option is really good. And like some people say, if online mode only has normal speed then just play on normal and pretend that is the only options if your brain can't cope with different settings. I myself couldn't give a fuck about online so I think this is a superb move by EA.

There is a FIFA 09 Community event next week in Vancouver EA

so I will wait for official confirmation on a demo date :)


as all these rumours stem from noobs blogs

Possibly 2 weeks earlier than the current date being mentioned

I expect the demo to appear relatively soon after the Leipzig Games Convention which lasts 20th-24th August 2008.

and I will just wait until EA make an announcement on their forums :) or someone finds an image somewhere on the EA site quoting a demo date :)
