Fantastic news for Barca and Barca fans!!

Villa won't move. Something very strange should happen for Villa to leave. He has just arrived, adapted to the system and won a CL scoring a great goal. Pep has a lot of faith in him, and so do the fans. You can assure your son about that!

Plus, I'm pretty sure, Villa will have a much better season next year unless he gets injured or something (which he usually doesn't, he has excellent record keeping fit and playing nearly all matches every season) because even though this season, he already was very helpful and won them CL and scored great goals (I love one against his beloved Sporting Gijon to get that 1-1 draw!), next year, Barca will see the real David Villa. The one that used to haunt them when playing for Valencia. ;)

This year, it wasn't the real David Villa. Not at this best. Of course even at 80%, he's better than 90% of forwards in the world, but when fully adapted which he now should be after a season, he's the world's very best forward.

I think he'll have an AMAZING season just like the amazing player he is next year. So Barca's huge investment in him will have been answered even more in his 2nd season.

Excuse me for the misplace question ...Hypothetically If Arsenal would pick 1 player btw Maxwell or Abidal. Which would be the best? and Why?

Player plus £30-35 would make me happy :))

Abidal wont move at all. He is a fan favorite and plans to retire here. That kind of answer your question. Plus you already have 2 of our layers, toral and bellerin, he he. Well, actually i dont think there are interesting enough layers for arsenal in the first team that the club would include there. Thiago was the only gem there.

Jeffren, bojan, maxwell, milito... None of them would strengthen arsenal in a significant way. You better ask for money, beboq!

@PLF, i totally agree about villa. Getting into the team here is hard, and can take a lot of time. I too think villa will increase a lot his performance this season.

Bojan's gone to Roma now, anyway. I think he will succeed there, as there is a real sense of progression after the takeover. They also picked up Jose Angel from the B team.

Good move for everyone I think. Though I don't expect him to immediately start delivering for Roma. I think he'll struggle a bit especially at beginning.

Wonder if they've put a buy-back clause in there!

How much $$$?

I heard Roma will pay 12 mill with a 20 mill buy-back.

I agree he will struggle a bit. Lots of talented attackers at Roma but I guess Enrique will give him a very fair chance. Might be very good for him.

I heard 10 M€ wuth a 20 M€ buy-back clause. I too expect him to struggle a bit at the beginning, this guys is great a finnishing, but he needs to eveolve in everything else. If the team can't deliver good balls to him, he'll have a hard time.

I don't think we buy him back anyway, in my oppinion Bojan just lacks the skill to play at Barcelona the way we do. He can be great for another style of football, and maybe Luis Enrique style fits him more.

I'm pretty sure Luis Enrique will try to put in place at Roma a different style than Pep. The B team coached by Luis Enrique was a little more prone to direct football and not so much focused on possession. It was a very offense-oriented style of play, though, and will be great to watch it unfold at the Serie A. Roma may be winning a lot of matches with a lot of goals, but also loose a lot of matches by a big difference. Are the fans prepared for that?

It seems Alexis Sánchez is almost signed and today it could be official.

It will cost 26 M€ plus 11M€ if we win the CL or the domestic title. And 2 friendlies arranged with Udinese. But as of now, Barcelona will pay only 26 M€. It's an expensive signing, but there were teams offering a lot more money and it was the player who decided to come to Barcelona. Great for Alexis and great for us. We needed a player like him, with dribbling, who can play in the wings and inside if necessary.

PS: My name in the real world is Alexis (my grandfather was a communist in prison and wanted my fathers to put me a "russian" name during the Franco dictatorship). When I was a child, I dreamed on being the first Alexis ever to play in the first team of Barcelona. Child dreams, of course. Now Alexis Sánchez has shattered my dreams and HE will be the first Alexis to play at Barcelona. I will be very strict with him and scrutiny his play and judge him very strictly. I hope he will be worth of it!

While i'm a litle bit sad for Udinese to loose 3 great players in a couple of days (Zapata to Villareal, Sanchez to Barcelona and Inler to Napoli), i'm also glad that this attractive player has chosen an attractive team.

Nice story about Alexis...and Alex drekkard: there are still plenty of dreams to pursue in life...but i don't need tho point this out.

PS: how come you name yourself "drekkard" in here...it sounds like a name for a pirate..but it doesn't mean anything for me.

Great signing for Barcelona. I am sure Sanchez will have a good chance of making himself a starter.

About the variables, I think Udinese will get around 35mill from the deal. Sanchez is surely going to play more than 20 games, Barcelona will surely pass the group stage of the CL and go far, and Sanchez will probably score a decent number of goals. 11 mill is not a small amount of money.

Yep, I still have the dream of dominating the world. That's still there...

PS: About the nickname, it comes from a long of years ago, I wanted to use Deckard as a homage to Balde Runner, but it was always picked by others of course. Then I put Drekkard as a variation of the name. And though no one knows, it's my homage to one of the best movies ever!

That doesn't exclude the fact tha tin my live I DO HAVE pirated some things now and then...

The variables changes from different sources, but I'm quite sure Barcelona will pay about 10 M€ of those variables next year if things go well. And if things go really well, why bother about those extra 10 M€? Surely Udinese needs them and surely the will employ them to find again new gems for the future. I think everybody wins.

Yup. Looks like a good deal for both sides. I hear Udinese are promised four friendlies and Jeffren to Granada.

On another note, seems Barcelona are selling a lot of forwards. Bojan,Jeffren,Soriano, and Nolito all left. Any newcomers?

very nice story about your name Alexis :))
what about sanchez contract? in order to establish whether this is a good deal or not, it's important to know how long will sanchez contract be and what kind of wage he will get.

I havent' read about the details of the contract. If it's similar to other deals done last year, he should sign for 5 years and with a wage of 3-4 M€ plus variables (depending on trophies). Probably the wages would increase at a rate of 10% per year.

Probably the final numbers will be around those. I think it's a good deal, but his performance in the pitch will have to prove it.

I love this transfer. I think he'll fit in very nicely and provide some competition for Pedro, Messi and Villa and so Barca has to worry a little less about injury/suspensions up front now.

Quality player in Quality team. Very good player to watch in very good team to watch now. For me they fit in very well. Even if Alexis needs to work on his passing Barca style at times and keeping possession rather than using amazing dribbling skills all the time. He'll need 3 months to settle in, then I think he can become a monster.

I'm excited!

if those are the figures, then it's definitely a very good business for both udinese and barça.

and like Sina said, he should fit into the team pretty easily :))

Well, now it's official. As I said before, it will be 26 M€ plus 11 M€ in variables and bonus depending on the performance and goals of the team. Surely Barcelona will be glad to pay those 11 M€ as it would mean another succesful season.

Wages haven't been made public, but will be around 3-4 M€ and 4-5 years, as suggested.

A great signing for us. We needed someone with the skills of Alexis, who can add a different game to our wings and can even take the place of Messi as a second striker and give him a little rest.

Now we only need another signing. It could be Cesc, but actually we needed more a CB, but Pep trusts a lot in Mascherano and Abidal to play there. If Cesc comes, the midfield will be trully packed, and I fear if players like Thiago and Afellay could be too much time on the bench. Surely they will be starting in the cup and non-important matches.

The important thing is that we will be able to rotate a lot more the squad this year.

Yeah, great moves for another year lacking any competition but full of the enjoyment of Barça and its fans. I really don't have any desire to see those matches in which Barça rapes their opponents with 128772334781 passes and scoring whenever they like (oh and those huge goal celebrations full of insincerity) over and over again. I'd wish they would be given all those trophies and stay off except the 'El Clasico's.

I love Alexis Sanchez's style. I mean, he would be the only reason for watching some Barça matches this year for me.

You are absolutely ignorant. I always support the underdog.
I also want fair competition.
But Barcelona are the only big club i really like because they are class, play wonderful football and have the socio system which is as democratic as football gets.

And what is insincere about their goal celebrations?

PS: Barcelona is not my favourite team, but i love watching their football. I watch football more than years and Barcelona are there at the top together with Brazil 1970 and 1982, Ajax, Sacchi's Milan and Crvena Zvezda those two or three year before the civil war.

That price is a bargain. Honestly, I thought you were going to splash 40M€ in that guy plus Jeffren (apparently he turned down Udine). Moreover, like Sina said, Alexis fits great in your team.

I think you are doing it the right way this offseason. In fact, both Barça and Madrid are making good moves, those squads are getting deeper and deeper, so depth isn't a problem anymore (especially Barça, who had a worst bench in my opinion).

What about Oriol? Is he going to London? I read that Villas-Boas wanted him and the deal was pretty close. I haven't seen him that often but he sounds like a good player for upcoming season. By the way, I truly believe that Fontás is going to be the next Carles Puyol, the guy is class and reminds a lot your current capitan. :)

Talking about Alexis, what about you my friend? I've been aware of this topic recently so barely see you this time. Well, to take care of Women's Thread is an exhausting task.

Your sour biasing it's a bottomless pit...

the 'very fair' one discusses just the only way he knows again and again..

You are absolutely ignorant.

I wonder what it has got to do with ignorance. Also you don't even know who I am. I'd wish you'd share with me what you got inside your head properly instead of shouting at me saying "ignorant" if you're really an experienced one.

And what is insincere about their goal celebrations?

Celebrating them whole team together (almost together with Valdes) everytime and as if they score for the first time ever or they score a last-minute cup winner. It's not an issue between me and Barça. Recently RM, too are in the swing and I hope it just remains with only them at least and doesn't spread out more. It just seems to be an insincere act which is played for hoodwinking the fans to me.

I didn't insult any of you. I didn't insult even Barcelona (except the 'insincerity'). I don't care about being seen someone nice by you or how you know me and I'm honest on my opinions. Those reactions just sound like you can't take any different point of view than yours. Of course, no worries, I got used to hear all those same insults everytime when I make my opinion. I'm sure there are some guys who would insult me even if I only say "I don't like Messi's personality". That's too bad- umm.. I mean, "very fair". :TTTH:

Yes, it's been a while since you roamed here for the last time! As you say Madrid and Barcelona now have such incredible squads. Madrid has added even more power to what they had, so basically I expect this season to be carbon copy of the last one.

It's a little sad seeing how both teams get far and far from the rest of Spanish clubs each season because of the absolutely unfair distribution of TV rights money, but that's how it is unfortunately...

I hope Real don't get Neymar. In my oppinion, he's not needed at all and you should simply buy a decent right back.

I think Alexis will fit well, but the key of success this season will rely on whoever masters the rotations of the squad and avoiding injuries of key players such as Messi and Ronaldo.

I like Oriol Romeu, but there's no space for him now in the first team and he will go to Chelsea. He's a strong deffensive midfielder, a kind of crossing between Toure and Busquets. But he lacks Touré strength and skill and also lacks Busquets positioning. If he manages to improve that, he will become very good indeed. There will be a buy-back clause, though, so if he grows as a player we can always buy him back. It's like loaning players in fact. The same happens with Bojan and the same will happen probably with Montoya, a right back that I quite like.

About Fontàs, I'm not that convinced... I think he lacks speed and quickness in general, something extremely important in a deffense line that plays 40 meters away from the own goal. but he's very young and there's room for improvement. He needs to step up a little his short passing, too. Just nit-picking, you know... Not all the Masia boy have to be world class players! In fact, most of them are only good players but they play a game they have played for years, so they become very good at that specific way of playing. That's why I'm really eager to see Bojan at Roma and Oriol at Chelsea.

Have you ever read any of my posts propperly? The 'very fair'?
What's your problem with me or with Barcelona? Because it's quite evident you have some kind of problem or obsession. The kind that defines blind fanatics or journalists from Marca or As.

There's always some kind of fanatic negativity to your posts about Barcelona and it gets old quickly. And for the record, 'insincere celebrations' really had me laughing. It may be the most ridiculous critic I've heard about the team. :APPLAUD:

Not related to Barça. I just don't like that kind of huge dominance no matter what the name is. I don't care if you call it "obsession" or whatever you like. Since I don't support any team (except Turkish NTs), I just can't have any fanatic or whatsoever opinions, you know. :))

Yeah, yeah. Sounds a lot like self deception.

Hehe, I see. Cheers bebo. :))

Hahha. He's unhappy to have not played in CL final. Imagine how Berbatov feels for not even making the bench and being far better and near end of his career!

This kid is lucky to have won 2 Champions Leagues already at such age and should count his lucky stars because for him, it's been more a process of having been there at the right place at the right time rather than having earned it through great ability! He should just be happy and grateful, he was simply not good enough anyway. Over past few years, he's had more than enough chances to impress Pep, Barca fans and neutrals like me but he never really has. Many of us wouldn't have played him as much as Pep did. He's still got the potential so maybe at Roma he will... in which case Barca may buy him back... but for now he's done very little and has a LOT to prove!! You can't live off 'potential' forever! It's time to PRODUCE!

Pep knows what he's doing Bojan. You just weren't good enough and that must hurt. So now you leave your club and take parting shot at coach!

Leave? its more of a loan deal. if bojan turns good, barcelona can buy him back cheaply . its in his contract. their worried he may do a fabregas and come good.
