What a scandal. What happened to Goal Line technology again? Wasn't it supposed to be on this season?

Yeah this confused me, I totally forgot about the matter but last night reminded me, didn't we get official word that it would be in for the Premier League this season.

Will it be used for goals only? Offsides(goals) n over the line? What a mess , I rather they dont play instant replay and let the players be gutted , not fans n commentators aving a right go on the matter. Do commentators get fine for saying such I mean is there a no zone for commentators?

There's a website (can't find it right now, but it's like debatable decisions) that went through every call in the prem last season - apparently linesmen only got offside decisions right 88% of the time.

That's woeful.

Still, I don't think you can have goal line tech come in halfway through a season. Surely that creates a bias depending on what matches you've already played? For example, say the title comes down between City and Chelsea. Chelsea play at Stamford Bridge in the first half of the season against City, and Chelsea get (yet another) dodgy offside goal allowed because of linesmens seeming inability to see offsides at Stamford bridge.

Then the same thing happens at the Etihad, but the goal is overturned due to tech, and City lose the title to Chelsea.

I realise that's quite specific, but the point remains - the season should be level for its entirety. It's why the transfer window being open through the end of August is batsh*t crazy. The QPR team that City played will be half as strong as the one United play. And so forth.

There's only so much they can do about dodgy offsides. The goal line technology is only for... goal line? :D

Putting that amount of technology and effort into verifying if the ball crossed the line or not is not enough IMO. This is a much less common occurrence than dodgy offsides, for example.

The ideal thing would be to resort to video proof, like in American sports. Give each manager a total of 3 "challenges", like in Tennis. Just to make sure they won't challenge any free throw and make the match stop every 3 minutes.

I doubt the governing bodies would do something like this in the next 20 years, but if they were serious about the issue, that's what they would do.

PS: the transfer window thing is madness, I agree with that. But it happens almost everywhere in the world.

This is the article I read a while ago from BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18719396

Yeah it would be silly to bring it in half way through the season.

Well the history shows , not how well you play the 1st half but how bad everyone esles plays the 2nd half :P . You wont convince not even the most deluded fan about Arsenal winning the title w/ 300k transfer over ghe summer n the best 2players on Arsenal leaving every season, being called 'feeder club'. Plus beachryan was the 1st to say Arsenal looks to finish 2nd this season . Everything could change in 2weeks time (same ole Arsenal comes to mind) we're in transition mode everytime 2 players leave.

I hope you win the league this season put it like that.

I think you have an excellent squad...when will Wilshere return? he is key..

This week he's on full training so I imagine 1st week of next month . He wont start I can see a few 75minute mark subbing. I pray he wont delay like Ramsey did...although a leg break is more mental then knee surgery I forgot how Jack plays tbh lol

I wont start to think in the near region of us winning the league until we play Man City and Chelsea and see how well we do.

If we come out of those two with 6 points then I might start to believe that we have a chance of winning....but I don't think we will, it is a big ask for this team at the moment.

Football is football though and anything can happen :DD

They could have beaten us by about 7 or 8 today.

Everton are such a bogey team for us. The ref was a prat according to my mate who went to the game, though he said Dyer deserved to go for being an idiot soon after getting booked.

I saw the match.
When Everton scored their second goal, Swansea were the better team.
Fellaini's assists for the first goal was with his arm IMO, that goal should not have been given.
The second goals was a beauty in the build-up: fantastic pass from Fellaini to Pienaar..

Everton were the better team, but the difference was not that big IMO (although after the sending off, Everton could indeed have scored at least three more goals).

Until the sending off, this was a fantastic match, one of the best i've seen lately.

Wouldn't it be great if Everton could win the EPL...Moyes would certainly deserve that...

Here is a discussion between very unbiased persons who think only their own team has world class players...

I think Hazard, Mata, Kagawa and Oscar have the potential to become "World Class" or are on the cusp of becoming "World Class", whereas Rooney and RvP are already there.

I suppose it depends on your personal definition of "World Class".

Way to go Chelsea. We could have get 2 penalties but it doesn't matter. Torres literally sucks and we need a good striker. Well done.
