eFootball PES 2020 Demo Discussion Thread (PS4/Xbox)

definitely concerning from Konami, but if the only thing we need to sacrifice is slightly less fouls (hopefully it's just slightly) without having an effect on the core gameplay then I am fine with that.

Well, I might give FuMa another try. I will name that profile something like ianni-fuma, see you on the pitch :D!

This plays well online, I have to admit that. I should try offline in ML to see if there are lacks of animations.

Most matches I played ended 0-0 (hit the bar 3 times in 2 matches... sad). I can defend decently, but when attacking... man. I feel like adv. through ball is slow, or that I have to start it pretty soon. What are your thoughts on adv. through ball? I'll keep practising, at least now this is enjoyable because we both make mistakes and we have to think our plays.

Interesting! I start with pitch side and modify that usually. How did you change the settings online? Do you do it while you're in a game or before you start the matchmaking? When I checked the other night, it seemed like you could only pick a few angles and couldn't customise any.

I did the cam angle customisation during gameplay, eg. at the kick off screen (when player in middle is about to kick off). I dont do it at the start menu before the game. I thought that method lead it to save your online/offine cam settings, so itd start like that as a saved default.

And just to note, It doesn't matter if you are on pitchside, middle or long cam etc, as soon as you begin customising the zoom, height and angle, the cam type becomes the custom one..ie. pitchside 5,3,10 is exactly the same as middle 5,3,10. The only different cams/angles would be stadium and dynamic. Dynamic can obviously only have the zoom and height tinkered, whereas the stadium and custom angles can have all 3 tinkered. Again, I couldn't tinker the custom cam when playing online in pes19. I could only use the original cam settings, without changing Z,H and angle. Now you can.

RIP fouls

I suppose the only good news is the mention that it'll be fixed by a day 1 patch, hopefully that means if we don't update there'll still be fouls.

This..

I figured Pes2020 was already finished..This is great news!...(i say this because I always see images of people who have a boxed copy of the game 3 weeks before launch in Mexico or somewhere in Asia from a distributor).

Irrespective of feedback and patch changes the base game out of the box will be pretty much what we have now..

I’m offline only,so a unpatched game out of the box will be fine with me..

Tryed the demo and boxed version unpatched of pes19 last night, there identical dispite a bit more spit and polish..Once you patch it it turns into a completely different game.
(Almost completely different interms of gameplay..)..

This is why peeps I always buy hard copy!..If you don’t like the updates you can still go back to base.

Oh boy and look at the tweets below, the majority arent happy with the less fouls...we let the minority out voice us after all.
I think you're being melodramatic about it. It's obvious that they're looking into the amount of Non-fouls called by the referee and trying to reduce them without it impacting on the amount of legitimate fouls being called.

It looks that way

Regardless of what the issue at hand is, I'm absolutely confounded by how quickly konami changes course all because of "feedback". The lack of vision or strategy is painful.

I actually think they could thrive in the "eSports" arena by being different. I.e. crank UP those fouls and physicality, make it the "thinking man's choice" like PES used to be, comparatively. From what I've read occasionally, most FIFA converts hop on over to Pes because it offers something different, irrespective of what that "something" is. Why not expand on that idea konami? They're trying too hard to be like FIFA but EA has got that on lock.

I’m trying to learn to play FUMA, so far i have:
- Cursor Change: semi-assist
- Pass Support Level: Off
- Through Ball Type: Advanced
- Shot Type: manual

What else should i need to change? Also, how do you actually shoot to goal? I always shoot nowhere near the goal :))

I think if you want to play on manual, you want through ball type set to basic. I found this really confusing and I think others have too. Advanced is something completely different. If pass support is off, basic through ball will be manual.

FFS. Then there's any wonder why there's such a divide with this game. The immature and uneducated whining that
  • "It's too slow
  • "Too many fouls"
  • "I can't score from 30 yards every game anymore - Shootings broken"
  • "Update Messi hair plz"
The fouls situation really pisses me off, There's nothing wrong with it, People just need to accept the fact that this is football, Fouls are a thing, The referee isn't always correct & that you can't just passively hold the press button passively and just expect your defender to just clatter into someone and soak the ball back up with no consequence - This demo has shown promising glimpses of God mode football being phased out only for the myClub pussies to protest and threaten to boycott.

Granted there's times when you get wiped out and no foul and times when you clip a player and it's a penalty, But that & dodgy collision detection will always be a part of football video games until the end of the world.

I say it over & over again but 1 simple solution is to give the user CHOICE. Have an option for referee strictness or foul frequency or something. It's a complicated subject but hypothetically they could give us sliders so if people wanna play blitzball and PA3 isn't enough for you then you either crank a passing accuracy slider all the way up and if you still throw a strop at mis-placing passes then maybe football games just aren't for you.

Exactly. Give us those sliders already. Then we can decide for ourselves and the myclub crowd can have their way as well.

@rockstrongo i’ve already preordered few days ago... right now i really feel to press that CANCEL button. I’d better go outside and get some fresh air, maybe it will calm me down a bit.

Just hope that it will be fixed without taking away fouls etc,but I don't trust konami at all,and the other game isn't an option for me right now either.
Fingers crossed

The one small glimpse of hope are the responses in that thread. People are rightly pissed off.
If it doesnt change their mind - at least it might make them to be very sensible about it...

I mean how would it look to release another statement next week that they keep it unchanged ? :D Unless secretly they dont tweak it at all.

@Emroth i came to the conclusion they don’t care about us. They care and accept the feedback only from those MyClub “slot machine” players. They are the ones that make them rich by buying Coins and stuff.

Correct me if i’m wrong.

It has been repeated hundred times.

They.should.stick.to.their.original.vision.

With what faith should I buy the game now? I can endure (by struggling a lot) less fouls, but what if the usual crowd decides that physicality, or first touch errors, or choose yourself among the good stuff of this demo.. aren't fun to their rainbow vision of football and they decide to dumb it down?

We asked for months for a decent cpu last year. They never truly fixed it and we had a CPU that played passing simulator with a ridicoulous low number of ways to score. Now they heard about fouls and they run "fixing it". I'm doubly mad (no pun:)))) for this way of approach things.

The reality is that feedback as it is, is the damn bane of the modern football gaming era. Between Konami and EA this damn balancing this and balancing that to appeal to the usual crowd that wants to play blitzball ruined more than one promising job. If they manage to do it even with 2020 there truly is no other hope.

Fine by me.

Tell people you've patched it when you haven't really and watch the placebo work it's magic.

Most of the quacks who were convinced there was a covert, better demo on the US store should lap it up and indoctrinate the rest of generation "this game is too hard".

Offline players will always be secondary in setting up priorities, but this is probably first edition of modern Pes games that gathered such a good feedback accross people playing all sorts of modes.
Streamers, youtubers, us, pesuniverse people - majority love the demo. Community is nowhere near as divided as it was in the past.
That alone should tell them that they did something special this year.
Fucking it up with day 1 patch is the past thing they should do.
I really hope they will be gentle.

I'll likely just play the demo and not buy it at all - this is probably the best time of the whole year to find manual games online regularly on PC anyway.

The other mode I'm interested in would be online co-op, but I seriously doubt they've made any significant improvements there. The increased "individuality" will make those insufferable MyClub teams you play every match even more overpowered.

I’m an online only player myself mate. Just not a MyClub VEGAS Casino lover.

Well there you go. Like I said - online players, offline players - majority was very happy with the demo.

Few people here said they were talking to Adam directly. I think its time to knock to him again, lads..

@ionutt , I was going to say something similar. Maybe you will be better of starting slowly. Maybe Manual Passing first, then when you get your head around it - add Advanced through balls, or manual shooting.. small steps. You dont want to throw yourself into crazy deep and frustrating waters straight away..

Post of the year for me..I salute you..

Summed up what’s destroyed both games for the last 5 years now..

LOL
We have no idea how this might actually affect the game and you are all going bananas over it!

What strikes me as odd is the fact that when we voiced our opinions last year about the absolute lack of fouls or many of the other issues, they never released a statement on their official Twitter saying what they're saying now.
So it's like, they'll only listen to certain type of feedback.
