eFootball (All Platforms)

Any word about L2- x manual passing being back?

Also, I wish they would fix the pointless animation where the keeper takes the ball quickly to make a quick goal quick since YOU CAN'T TAKE A QUICK GOAL KICK ANYWAY. Either make so that you actually can take advantage of a quick goal kick or just scrap it otherwise, just frustrating.

Seeing the videos, it's pretty much a bug-free, polished and finished version of 0.9. They introduced all the already planned features (e.g. special shot/pass button), individual tactics etc.

The base game? Pretty much the same basic non-sophisticated game, but more responsive, which is actually a big deal.

Ball physics are still dreadful and worlds, decades behind the nuanced ball physics of PES. I don't like how the only way to get a decent shot is pressing the 'stunning shot' button, & not relying on real-life ball physics to use a rebounding ball's stored energy. If the game had realistic ball physics, you can get a decent shot by shooting against the direction of the incoming ball, or timing your shot correctly. The stunning shot button makes sense only for when you're on the ball, but it shouldn't be the only way to get a powerful shot.

I haven't played of course, but judging by the way the ball defects, how it bounces and its trajectory on crossing, the ball's spin has no affect on how it bounces or behaves, unlike in PES:

Yes, the tactics are an upgrade over 0.9, but it's nothing they didn't announce before, and still way behind PES. Again, I'll have to play and see how decent the off ball player movement is, but I'll be surprised if it's anywhere as sophisticated as PES.

Overall, this isn't an overhauled or massively fixed version of 0.9, this is the finished version that was planned all along, with some 'fine tuning' to satisfy some complaints (e.g. pass speed and responsiveness).

I liked the dribbling in 0.9 tbh, and other than the exaggerated player momentum, it was ok. I'll look forward to giving 1.0 its fair day in court.

A concern I have, as a FUMA player, is whether this Stunning modifier works with manual, and if it does, how it affects it.

This is how I would like stunning kicks to be, taking an absolute age to launch a thunder of a strike.

I'm not sure any of the new videos has the AI scoring a goal? Probably just the difficulty level. Konami might even have locked that at low, for no reason.
Edit: scrubbing through that VGC video I finally found an AI goal

Some how in my R1 is sprint-head I was thinking it was an R2 shot modifier, so I guess that old shot modifier is still in there. They better allow me to change sprint to R1

I am watching that long video VGC and it's funny to hear the commentary in the intros. By making all games in this Demo like experience friendlies the commentators keep harping on about the match not being that important. They might as well say "It's going to be bit of a shit match, innit"

This shot doesn't need a button to be pressed. Instead, it needs proper timing of the shot while the ball is dropping from its bounce. Also, Bobby already had forward momentum which he transfers into the shot.

Pressing a button should be needed from neutral stances.

The warning signs are there! All the footage I've seen of version 1.0 against the A.i appears to be on the lowest difficulty & is always 5 minute matches.

I know this is probably a limited demo of version 1.0 but I seriously wouldn't put it past Konami to release the game next week without unlocking the match duration & difficulty settings.

They are that stupid!
Agreed! Are the devs deliberately trolling the offline gamers by adding the time and difficulty settings then greying them out? This has been tactic by them for last few "Lite" versions of Pes and they know that it has been a consistent complaint by the community.

and this is why i am playing Pes 2020 all the way, its possible to score exactly goals like this

It should be down to player attributes and skills when shooting, not bloody button modifiers.
This one little small thing -- tells you about this game and its future.

It will be mobile simplistic game, with some Tekken style controls and gameplay.

It just (really) miss PES 2021 ball physics to me. There's perhaps more animation, and i like overally what i saw about players physics... But the PES 2021 basis about all physicality represented is still far ahead from what they purpose to me.

But not the animations system, or the physical contacts, it seems a level above. AI i don't know but it seems more dynamic and also a bit more logic overall.

I'm confused, divided, like @The_Knight

And i like the analog run if it's more sensitive and like part of the gameplay, not like on Fifa (just a feature, not game changer) but i don't like the R1 for pressing and the other change FFS. Is there any ways to gives us back the mate pressing with square? R1 is pretty meh.

Really don't know what to think of what i saw, there's seems + and - against the FOX version(s). But calling it mobile games with some NG stuffs in more, it's a bit (well, i would say a lot but i respect the opinion)... Exaggerated. But i know Chris said it in a way we could understand the feeling directly.

I'm hoping that these are merely modifiers & not guaranteed overrides. It would be a terrible shame if context & mathematical calculations didn't apply still.

If you're rushing off one of these stunning kicks under pressure, from a funny angle or with the ball too close to the player's joist, there absolutely should be more margin for error. At least I hooe...

This game is dead, just move on.
I mean, I think it probably is too, but I don't begrudge people who still have an interest in the potential resuscitation, or who want to meme on it, or conduct a postmortem. Comments like this don't really serve a purpose. It's a discussion thread of the topic in question; people are here to discuss the game, for better or worse.
Micro-steps when controlling the ball or change directions are gone. Back to old school sliding/gliding.
Someone on here once told me that there's no skating in eFootball, and that the skating I thought I saw with my own eyes was actually just player inertia. Can't remember who... So maybe you're just mistaken about old school sliding?

For real, there is so much less being calculated on the fly,
So much predetermined stuff happening completely overthrowing momentum movement and what not

I guess for the masses it being predictable is something good gaming wise, Because the videos do make it out to be a streamlined less buggy version of efootball 2022 but thats the big big setback efootball is giving over PES

Oh my, and exactly this, These calculations are completely out of this engine now, making it simplified.
its way more video gamey, some will say it gives the end user more control. It does, but not in a realistic way

I would have liked Advanced Shot as standard control for everyone instead of "Stunning Shot". The stunning shot button could just be used so you can manually decide to do dipping or rising shots while shooting normally with advanced shot. So you can shoot everywhere on the goal, with how much power you like + using the ball momentum, timing for correct foot planting, and the additional button press if you want rising or dipping. Just full control.

Stunning shot button reminds me of that one NES game, where you do a flip shot on special button press and your shot transform into a tornado killing the keeper...

As strider mentioned, stunning shot should be attributed to players with that particular skill, like Ruben Neves, cristiano and rashford (his knuckelball). Any player without such skill ingame should have a very low probability to hit a clean shot. Same with passes, all ground passes are like Mesut Özil precision, perfect weight and flow. Its the age old PES problem, no bobble at all. On the positive though, the ball seems to play like a separate entity when controlling, has a very natural feel to it. Overall, looking forward to next week.
