eFootball (All Platforms)

Not related with video but i remember this VGC team was the first one to report efootball from being paid game to f2p.

Yeah i have to disagree with that. With the current situation on efootball, pes 21 will never be outdated to mod, it will share the same fate like pes 6, 13, 17.
We need a proper edit mode and offline modes at least to start modding, not chances with just exhibition matches althought gameplay were really good

I am not talking about team press. I am talking about home-in-missile style pressing with X (or team press). In 0.9.1 you could actually play high passes from defense to midfield when the player had free space. If you do that in PES21 there will be an opponent there in 1ms homing-in with holding X. The same you can see in v1.0 gameplay.

The same for dribbling. If you make fast turn changes, you could easily fool opponents in 0.9.1, just in real life running at a striker full sprint will leave you in the dust. Now in 1.0 gameplay your player will automatically turn perfectly to intercept the striker even if he makes turns like Messi.

The japanese testers themselves said that X press is too strong, too automated. And you can't even shield the ball now in v1.0 against those X-press holders. They couldn't find a single way to counter X-holders except for passing the ball away.
This is a very big step back from a football simulation.
Fair enough.

someone said earlier you cant shield the ball anymore from the crazy pressing. I've just seen that you can with l2 still

The action is still in the game but it just doesn't work. The japanese players tried it, and every time the opponent just hold X to break the shielding in 1second.

According to a french tester, the Dream Team mode was locked during their test.

They were only allowed to test the gameplay

He felt the the version they tested was similar to the version they tested in London last summer, which was different from the released version

According to the french tester:

- the L2 bug is still here, but less than the 0.9v
- the L1+ RS Teammate control is back
- Dribbles velocity are the same as the same version = slow to execute

Ball physics are really poor for me. Almost like it can only travel at one speed unless the STUNNING KICK button is pressed.

Moments where the ball shows no sign of friction whatsoever stick out like a sore thumb:

So glad I'm not the only one to notice this. A few clips of shooting I saw on Twitter gave me a flash of hope (against my will), then I watched full clips and this stands out to me in a big way.

PES has always felt "one speed" to me and it seems that's still the case - like it's impossible to speed the game up other than just being more direct in your passing. I'll doubtless give it a go because I have a football game addiction, but I'm not seeing a next-gen football game. I'm seeing a mobile game that's had some last-gen elements bolted onto it, and we're calling that "progress".

I think that last goal is going to sum up what we are going to get next week until the end of may.
Weird how they didn't show a replay of that one... (Captain Pessimistic over here, I know. Less buggy than the majority of goals I've seen pre-v1 to be fair.)

While none of us have played it, its clear responsiveness issues will be a thing for a while. Szcesny takes an extra step instead of using that second he had to react and dive left, the responsiveness lag made him take another step right and dive late when the ball was already hitting the net which looked weird, despite how nice and organic the animations for everything was.

I know everything we have seen is on regular difficulty but that didn't seem to be the big problem here. That just seemed like a bug.

Looking forward to giving the skills a go on this because this will really show where we are at on this, players take too many touches in general so the developers will need to work most on this to progress forward with what they have right now. Tactics have returned but changed and with the game in a early fresh state, there's a lot of exploring and testing to do to see what's possible here. Its something I've liked the most and enjoyed about these videos is how different the gameplay is already to PES 2021. It builds now strongly from what that game lacks.

I don't know whether I'd laugh or scream if that was the case
The warning signs are there! All the footage I've seen of version 1.0 against the A.i appears to be on the lowest difficulty & is always 5 minute matches.

I know this is probably a limited demo of version 1.0 but I seriously wouldn't put it past Konami to release the game next week without unlocking the match duration & difficulty settings.

They are that stupid!

Any word about L2- x manual passing being back?

Also, I wish they would fix the pointless animation where the keeper takes the ball quickly to make a quick goal quick since YOU CAN'T TAKE A QUICK GOAL KICK ANYWAY. Either make so that you actually can take advantage of a quick goal kick or just scrap it otherwise, just frustrating.

Seeing the videos, it's pretty much a bug-free, polished and finished version of 0.9. They introduced all the already planned features (e.g. special shot/pass button), individual tactics etc.

The base game? Pretty much the same basic non-sophisticated game, but more responsive, which is actually a big deal.

Ball physics are still dreadful and worlds, decades behind the nuanced ball physics of PES. I don't like how the only way to get a decent shot is pressing the 'stunning shot' button, & not relying on real-life ball physics to use a rebounding ball's stored energy. If the game had realistic ball physics, you can get a decent shot by shooting against the direction of the incoming ball, or timing your shot correctly. The stunning shot button makes sense only for when you're on the ball, but it shouldn't be the only way to get a powerful shot.

I haven't played of course, but judging by the way the ball defects, how it bounces and its trajectory on crossing, the ball's spin has no affect on how it bounces or behaves, unlike in PES:

Yes, the tactics are an upgrade over 0.9, but it's nothing they didn't announce before, and still way behind PES. Again, I'll have to play and see how decent the off ball player movement is, but I'll be surprised if it's anywhere as sophisticated as PES.

Overall, this isn't an overhauled or massively fixed version of 0.9, this is the finished version that was planned all along, with some 'fine tuning' to satisfy some complaints (e.g. pass speed and responsiveness).

I liked the dribbling in 0.9 tbh, and other than the exaggerated player momentum, it was ok. I'll look forward to giving 1.0 its fair day in court.
