eFootball (All Platforms)

About modes and all i prefers to keep some reserves. But editing and creating missing league (or your own country league) i don't think it will be possible anymore.

Edit: Durandil have misuntersood. He said i traduct "There's fakes info on this. the game wasn't build on Mobile port at all i have proof of that. I will show the proof."

The_Knight said it as a speculation once, and i told that it's not at all possible to have that game on Mobile. But on his twitter, also a something he guessed.

But that's another story thing he relayed has NOTHING to do with it @Durandil67 you're misunderstood with what @The_Knight said before. If you want to talk in french, my PM is open and i'll explain you in french.

Maybe idiots at KONAMI didnt delete everything from Recycle bin where they put that next-gen version and give time to dev team to finish it in year or two.

I highly doubt it. I think people don't realise the glacial pace that things move at in big companies. They had to be at least thinking about and planning this some years ago. My alternative theory is that they were thinking about this as a possibility but had it on the back burner as a plan B, they let Kei Masuda go at the next-gen version but were not happy with his progress so they pulled the plug, demoted Masuda/promoted Kimura and resorted to plan B which was the mobile crossplay eFortnite approach. That could be why all the codenames for the project in the files (and even the website when NFG beta released) was PES22.

Don't do that, just base on what you're SURE and what we said (or i said) to you. Otherwise you will loose thrust from people following you. Just stick to what we said and don't go too far in your imagination.

Kimura came with another project F2P and cross-gen. The rest about "it's based on Mobile" is pure speculation and @Durandil67 said he'll show you and he trusted the same at the beginning about "based on mobile". But it's untrue.

The core isn't Mobile based, that's what i concluded after checking in files. That's all he said.

A year more was too much for Konami boss. That's why the director was changed in the middle of nowhere.
With Matsuda project : no PES Next-gen finished until a full year counting from now so 2022 probably (well, i don't believe Kei Masuda wouldn't have something to release on October/November 2021, a slighlty modded PES 2021 with some stuffs from his project on it...

Well that's a speculation of mine but i don't think Kei Matsuda is dumb at this point for releasing NOTHING for 2021. What i'm sure is that he's been out of the list because of his project. And they were running out of time and money due to covid issues.

But the big boss decided otherwise. So 2 guilty of what we got : the big boss i don't know his name, probably an old shit like Mr Beans Burns, and Kimura with his awful project started way too late looking like a last breathe before dying.

Edit: whatever, the damage is done. And looks like they will never told the truth, as we thinked they would one day. Or it will came for a guy who left, and he will be considered as a liar by, or a clickbait guy by Konami.

Just played pes 2021 on pc fully modded. I wonder why moving from there is not more cost effective solution for konami.

They could just "copy" what great modders there have achieved with graphic and improve animation and its transition from there. Replace/add some more natural GK animation here and there.

One on one has been great for me in pes 2021, where i could control a player pace and slowed down burst sprint or using skill which i rarely used to wrong footed a defender.

Add more shooting/passing trajectory
Fix some player positioning then all is happy..
Why do they go this current efootball route. Sigh.

I have played fifa 22 PS5 even on PC. I think PES 2021 still resembles more football mechanically with its restricted output.

Honestly, it amazes me that people are still fumbling around for explanations as to why this game is so shite, citing changes of approach mid-cycle.

It's consistent with Konami as a game publisher that they would do this, and consistent with the painful live service approach in the industry more generally.

The idea there was some real next-gen version that was previewed (lol) in the "teaser" (just a quick render to boost sales of a repeat game in the meantime) is laughable. It's the inverse equivalent of the better-build argument from the desperate fanboys. Both are mythical.

There wasn't some special version, even just a planned special version in blueprint form only. We actually have no evidence to suggest that. What we do have is evidence consistent with Konami being low-effort grifters, looking to move into the mobile space exclusively with all their IPs. They announced this a long time ago. It was always coming.
 
It doesn't really matter how much more time was required, they would have been far better off waiting another year for the next gen version to be ready and releasing nothing.

This monstrosity that they have released has killed everything on the spot. It's a total disaster.

I'd just like to highlight, btw, that those who thought there would be a manual defending focus, who refused to listen to those who played the NFG: I called it out very specifically a week before this shite released. That's because I prioritised something @Chris Davies mentions a lot: focus on what they do not what they say.

All the hype about manual defending came from certain people spaffing off over Kimura interviews.

It would be good if, going forward, people looked more critically at interviews – the promotional claims in them specifically – and judged Konami's plans and intentions by considering a range of factors, like:

- what are their broader intentions within the industry?
- how has this been borne out by other games they've developed and/or canned?
- which gaming space are they hyping up and running special promotional campaigns for?
- who is their target demographic?

Etc.

I think if you start thinking along these lines, you'll probably shelve theories about sudden changes of direction 6mo-a year ago, and start to realise this was always in the works.

They want a game that's well done from a technical point of view and that feels truly next-gen when that's what they were promised for two years.

Blaming the user for the product fault is typical of a company that does not respect its fan base.

Well, the fact that you like this mess of a "game" just goes to show that there's always space for any product, as bad as it is. Just don't think that you are the illuminated one, the chosen one amongst mortals who gets to see what games are innovative and which games are not, the one with the gift to play the games when they get more difficult while us, the dumb ones, get angry when there are more than two keys to press.

To game is shit. That's is the reason why people are rejecting it. The rest is just you imagining stuff.
 
Well, i admit than i've repeated what i learned during the time i edited (linked with a guy working under Konami so). But speculations added from the only thing i know and posted on twitter, i don't like it neither.
Afterall, we're human mate, it's a bit normal when you see something abnormal to try to found the true. Curiosity is part of the human nature. It's a Cluedo.

But you're right, the damage is done. And a teaser mean nothing, just check the 3D presentation of PES 3 for example (random choose) i didn't really given attention to that.

After, saying that "there's no future for this game" while they defined the project (so it's not unbelievable) is the same to me. You believe that Kimura was on the stuff since 2 years but you don't believe it will be upgraded and updated. So you take the negative and reject the positive.

We don't have evidence except that last year, Kimura wasn't the boss and Matsuda was.
But we also got arguments that showed every game released in a bad state became better with the time, but also that even if he lies about the past, i don't see it impossible to check again and again. I don't see why we have to think the opposite, when there's more argument in favor than the opposite, is it just for staying negative because no evidence > because it's a more scientific approach ? Talking like we do doesn't turn all around evidence.
We're on a forum, we just talk it's not a scientific test or theory. BTW all theory cames from an idea so... Science is an human thing too.

We have the right to believe, right to not believe, as long as we're aware it's believing. Because you found some arguments valids, it doesn't need proofs to approve or denies something.

If they could just put game on-hold for two years, until old gen (PS4) console die -- and only next gen is available so they develop something really next-gen ... they could make great game, and parallel to that make money on idiots buying cards on mobile version.
 
I talked with a guy, he was already pissed than he had to wait for November so a year... And another came and answered yes it's abused. Not at all on a Football game forums, but a thread.

It makes me think than i would accept that situation, and let's say 85% of regular posters here too (50-60 of less regular, sorry guys, it's just my personal estimation).
But no one else would have accepted it, even fans on twitter, younger etc.
 
Having read 381 pages of predominantly negative opinions and reviews, I felt compelled to add my four-penny worth.

I am so bitterly disappointed with the release of such an apology of a game. I am left basically with four options. Persevere with this complete mess of a game; switch to FIFA2022; continue playing e-Football 2021; just give up altogether on football games. Considering all of the options, I'll stick with e-football 2021 with the great mods that can be found on this site that have made the game far more enjoyable than Konami deserve. Thank-you to each and everyone of you modders who so unselfishly give so much of your time and expertise to help us lesser mortals ejoy 'our' game. :APPLAUD:

I stumbled upon the following link from a YouTuber called YongYea. I think he pretty well nails what I feel.



As he says, "You only get one chance to make a first impression." Even if Konami manage the impossible and salvage something from this 'train-wreck', the franchise of e-Football is now too heavily tarnished by its' disease-ridden launch. It is hard to see how the reputation of the game let alone that of Konami (such as it was) can be restored. As YongYea states, it is going to take months just to get this shambles of a 'demo' to a credible condition so what does that mean for Konami's road map? We were never given a precise date for the release of the other modes such as Master League - just a hint of probably sometime towards the end of the year. At this rate don't hold your breath. Think spring of next year at the earliest.

Rather than rush to patch a broken game, Konami should pause and consider all the options. Ploughing on with a broken model that has garnered such a poor reputation would be folly. I have no doubt that the ftp model with its loot-boxes will be retained. The least we, as consumers, deserve is a product that has been properly quality assured and fit for purpose and a worthy successor to the PES franchise.

Personally, if I was sent in to rescue this franchise, the first thing I would do is to ensure the game plays well off-line on each of the individual platforms and forget trying to play it cross platforms for the time being. If the game is flawed off-line then it is as sure as hell going to even more bugged on-line. Secondly, once you have a decent product, ditch the dreadful e-Football name and call it something else. How about PES 2022?
 
I like to know what’s innovative about efootball22.Innovation isn’t changing input so your effectively doing the same thing just in a more simplified or more convoluted way.

Innovation comes from advances in physics,animation,AI and presentation.

The wheel doesn’t have to be reinvented.All that is required is a product more indicative of the technology around today.

They already have/had there audience.This is purely about commercial gain with minimal input.

They don’t want to compete on licenses,the high production costs of making a robust single player experience or product.This is all about market share in the mobile sector and the revenue that massivley exceeds the model we are all so accustomed to.

The reality for them is currently there product is duff.Unless there’s a quantum shift in quality and finish.This is dead in the water product going forward.

You do realize this game isn't even for PS4 standards? PS4 isn't this bad so PS4 isn't to blame for this trash. I'm PS4 player, yes.

I do ... I am not talking about making this trash better, but to continue to work on real-next gen they planned. And leave this trash behind, use it only for mobile version.

Two years from now, there won't be games made for PS4 generation i believe.

The motion mapping technology is innovative imo and has improved the animations in this as well as FIFA dramatically. I wouldn't be surprised if they added it for dribbling and Goal kicks back when the game was still supposed to be a proper next gen title, then decided they couldn't be asked with it during whatever process produced this monstrosity.

Please just stop now, you tell @The_Knight to not speculate and tell only the true based in facts, yet you keep on posting speculations about Konami’s inside, like you know anything about it…

No one knows what happened, probably no one will ever know, and no one knows for sure , if this is a mobile game ( the facts based on what everyone played, it’s that it’s a dumbed down game control wise, tactics wise, and depth wise), scaled to next gen consoles (it looks like it) or if it’s a next gen game downgraded for mobiles (it looks less like it), so we can only speculate based on our perception of things and on what we played.

I know people that say this is the best looking game graphics wise of any football game out there (supporters and grass included), so as you can see everyone will see it differently.

thankfully and by what most reviews are saying and based on I suppose 90% of people who played the game it is not, neither the best looking game, and not even a good base to work for.

now let the placebo begin once the new patch comes in, because i already saw some content creator saying that the game feels much better, and they even supported that based on the version being now on 1.0 version even if no update was launched (without even checking that it’s the APP that is on 1.0 and not the game that stills on 0.9). There will always exist people who will defend this game no matter what, be it because they don’t like FIFA and think there’s is no valid alternative, be it because they have channels and don’t want want to loose their main content resource, or be it because they somehow are attached emotionally to the game (we all are otherwise we wouldn’t be here commenting and wasting time on this game) and don’t want to think reasonably, or maybe they just like the game as it is even if it resembles very little the soul PES used to have and they are the new crowd. I hate fortnite, but millions love it so…

I report what i said from a Data Editor, working from data on 2 full leagues on Konami, i won't say his name i don't want him to got probelme. And another guy too who talked every week to Konami.

You don't know me. It's not because i'm not on social medial and try to make a name or whatever that i don't know jack. I worked 2 years with Pesuniverse, and was close to Konami and Data editors.

Didn't readed the rest as right now i just have 10 minutes fast to post and go. Answer if you want, but you can't deny what i said. The_Knight and Durandil agreed so... There's a part of speculation that i admit it is (but not what i posted on that particular post, only here, when we're all talking), and real thing i just relay.

I can't see how they can survive this as a football game developer. The reputational damage will be enough without even considering the financial implications for the eFootball team. I can't see anyway that this isn't the end of the series.
