Judging by last few years - gameplay in each and every final version was indeed different than beta and demo.. every time it was worse!

I mean the gameplay can't be worse than in this alpha or beta so don't worry. And let's be real for a sec in this Forum there's a couple of gameplay mod so even the gameplay won't be that good there are some modders out there who can make it better for sure. My bigger problem with the game is that the career mode should be more realistic, transfers etc.

I mean the gameplay can't be worse than in this alpha or beta so don't worry. And let's be real for a sec in this Forum there's a couple of gameplay mod so even the gameplay won't be that good there are some modders out there who can make it better for sure.

Historically PES has shown us that the full gameplay is often inferior to the beta's/demo's. As for gameplay mods they are limited to PC owners as you well know.

Maybe it would have been worth reading these things first before suggesting the people you were replying to (including me) were somehow failing to understand the situation. It's very clear what this is: an early build of the next PES game, one which, yeah, borrows elements from the mobile version. But you don't even need to read their statements to Eurogamer or IGN – it's even there in the FAQ page. They describe this as a version of the current project, and it's hosted on the pes section of their site.

People can only react on what they know. I have my work too. So i don't have time to read everything whats on the web, before i react to people on this site.

Do you know what it means? It's called stress testing and it just tests server capacity and stability. They're measuring how many people would be interested in playing the game and seeing if the servers can take it, tweak them around, check possible failure points, et cetera. Afaik there were gonna be new regional servers at places so it makes absolute sense that they try to stress test those, specifically. The game might also involve new matchmaking code, one that they can test around using the demo.

Game looks like crap because they're using several mobile assets, and why? Because it makes the game weigh absolutely nothing giving for a fast download, saves them from exploits uncovering leaks. In addition it wouldn't be surprising has some sort of telemetry, because even when we're near release, it's still some months to get there, and they might be interested in checking how people play against each other to tweak things.

This is literally Q&A through the users, lots of companies do it. Prior to Windows 11 being announced, the Windows Insider testing program gave three useless updates with the exact same purpose: test stability, see how updates are delivered, optimize in response.

Konami might've become worse over time and even released some stinkers... but this is exaggerating even about that.

So Konami can use PES 2022 for mobile(in alpha state) to see what the servers do when lots of players play the game on same time. Is there lag, can people find opponents easily.
I thought the game was 8GB to download. Then you already know this is not the real deal. PES 2021 is already 34 GB (on PC, on PS5 and Xbox i don't know)..

Of course its not going to look like this.
They will make sure graphics are stunning, coz this is the main thing they focused on for a while now.

My fear is that gameplay wont be far of what we are seeing here.
The survey itself is more or less a proof for this. A lot of questions are purely gameplay related (defending, dribbling, referees, goal satisfaction).
Its like they are testing the waters to see how far is this gameplay from satisfactory. If they had another, much more developed version of gameplay (not graphics, as I can understand that this might be very basic, shaved and compressed version of the game graphics) - they wouldnt be asking those questions. It would be pointless. Gameplay experience would be vastly different on their more developed version.

It amazes me how there are still people who claim that this has nothing to do with Pes22.. every time I see posts like this, I have but one thing on my mind..

There should be a bell ringing... Mabye they know this alpha game is rubbish, and thats why they call it "new football project". But there was in December 2020 another game that came out beta testing, its called "new football project" for Android. Its looks the same. There should ringing a bell twice.

So instead of making fun of people with another opinion, you should do some research yourself. Search Google, "new football project" then you find some video on YT.

I saw yesterday a video of TTB, he thinks "mabye Konami change the name of PES into something else". That could explain the "new football project" either.

How many teams (kits) have PES 21, stadiums, faces, all ML and MyClub cut-scenes, haven't played MyPlayer - maybe there is even more unique cut-scenes and you compare it to 4 teams and 1 stadium that already is 8GB heavy!?!
By the way, for you knowledge PES 21 mobile full game is under 2GB!!

Here's the thing about this pillock.
If we pay for the game, they do owe us something. They owe us what they've promised, what they've routinely marketed and then failed to deliver.
That's the extent of what they owe, but they do owe it. And the debt remains outstanding.

This guy was and is a symptom of social media society where people have been taught (by the companies who monetise those opinions) that everyone's opinion, no matter how idiotic, is as valuable as anybody elses.

Before, these idiots literally wouldnt exist. Their opinions had no forum, they died in the market of ideas and opinions so they either reformed those options or shut the hell up.

Thanks to social media, these fuckwits have gained traction. And we've probably lost any chance of ever again having a proper simulation of football in our living rooms. Which might make us do something useful with our time ha!

Janguv is right, there would be no point releasing something that has no or little relation to the final product just to test the servers. Why? Because if all you are testing is the server's ability to handle load then you can test that without going to all the trouble of releasing an open beta, namely by load testing which can be done in-house via backend simulations. Releasing an open beta is hardly a straightforward process, and you wouldn't do it just to test something that could be tested without going through a full release cycle. Furthermore if this beta did not represent the final game then it would invalidate the testing, because it may not perform as well if the final game was radically different in terms of gameplay, because radically different gameplay also implies radically different requirements for how the client and server interact. Basically, your logic is terribly flawed. Yes the assets are likely based on mobile and/or scaled down to reduce file size, and of course that will be improved come release (not a single person here has disputed that), but what people are most focused on is gameplay, and it is highly improbable that the gameplay will be drastically different to the beta for the reasons already mentioned. The disappointment stems from the fact that some people were hoping for a revolution in gameplay, which is definitively not going to be the case when they are borrowing so much from the previous generation.

As a side note, I was not among those expecting a revolution in gameplay, frankly I suspected it would have taken them the 2 years just to port the game to UE, based on what Kojima said about their utter incompetence when utilising Fox Engine. I thought it was going to be a tweaked Fox Engine build using UE for the rendering layer, and that seems to be what they are aiming for. Looking at it I'm doubtful if anything other than the visuals are based on UE, the animation system for example looks uncannily similar to before, it's hard to believe you would go to an entirely new engine and aim for a 1:1 replication, you'd surely aim for at least some modest improvements as you went through the process.

The name being "New Football Game" can be because of many things, maybe they're going to rebrand the names from E-Football PES to fully E-Football only just like the rumours that has been swarming around the internet this few months. Or it could be just way from KONAMI to tell us and makes things clear that this is just the android games back then named the same as this being ported to console just for the sake of testing their servers, just like at the title as well, with a few nest gen features being added to it like announcers at the stadium, then those new cutscenes etc, but not really the full game later on since it's not named as PES or E-Football something.

But really, we're so starved for some news from KONAMI sides about this next gen game, with the promises of shiny new graphics, gameplay, mechanism, etc, and this is our first news our first looks from them, it's understandable why we're so disappointed, and with this beta/alpha/whatever release it is there's not much words really regarding what this really is from their sides. We can't really do anything except for waiting until 21th of July tho, so just sit back and enjoy ur day like usual with the exception that this thread will finally be active daily with people ranting and many other things.

It appears to be game where you "play" football by selecting from choices of cards. Looks like a psuedo football-management game with no in-game controls to directly control the players. Admittedly the PES22 beta does look as bad as this.

One thing that is true: none of this is worth arguing about. Debating this won't change the facts of whatever Konami have, so any emnity or name-calling is not worth the time.

I have been a loyal PES player since ISS etc., and I was hoping they'd really make a proper stab at this one, after a two year window, in effect. Perhaps they still will - the server test stuff is deeply odd, but Konami have often done things that simply seem out of step with normal practise in the eyes of western consumers, at least. I always hoped they'd learn from their mistakes, that they'd do better than fall into the fifa trap of iterating tiny amounts each year - with big words each time - just to keep selling without seeming to try to make something special any more. Year after year, though, we see the same stuff. Whether it's stuff I don't care that much about, but nevertheless should very clearly have been improved - menus, nets, modes - or the really big stuff - on the pitch (scripting, 360 stuff, the refereeing, collisions etc.) - they've constantly underwhelmed, underaspired, underachieved.

There have been some good games along the way, always preferable to me than the fifa mob, but there comes a time when iteration needs to end and fresh starts, root and branch improvements, revolutions, need to take place. It continues to reek of under-investment by Konami. They basically didn't bother with it for years, deciding pachinko machines and their home market was all that mattered. A shame, as they used to simply have better ideas and understandings of what was important, and made impressive, ambitious football games. I guess chief executives chase the money all the time; it's their job - who can blame them entirely for commercial practises, in the end - but it's such a pity that the commercial imperative is all consuming, as the best football game might not be the best selling. We know that, evidence clearly shows it, and it leads to shit like microtransatcions, obsession with graphical gimmicks above all else, and FUT-a-likes that are out of place, ill-conceived and simply not of interest to many of the players who are old enough to remember the genuine glory days of the series. No-one can argue that markets demand certain things, of course - graphics need to keep up - but once upon a time, PES players could be smug in the knowledge that we always had the better game, the more interesting, the more real. Unless there's been a wholesale change in attitude to really focus on it, to see this generational leap as a genuine opportunity to make a mark again - particularly in light of the leaden-footed progress fifa bothers to make, milking their own cash cow dry - I will simply expect to be disappointed and hope not to be.

A lot of people already said similar things but I’d like to share my take on it.

I played a few games today and it pains me to say that this beta is probably none other than our eagerly anticipated pes 2022.

We’ve got a brand new match intro, new stadium elements, brand new defensive control scheme, slightly different dribbling system (compared to 2021), new shooting system, new animations, new camera etc.
I can’t convince myself that konami would be working on an entirely different game but instead choose to upload this build to test their servers. It just doesn’t seem right.

Although I think there will be a lot of improvements in terms of gameplay and this is far from the final product, it is the base of what we’re gonna get. I’m not even getting into the graphics discussion because clearly they wouldn’t launch a version that looks worse than the previous generation, so it will all be good and shiny when they release it.

I believe that this game is an improved version of pes 2021 and I found it more enjoyable to be honest.
But is this what I expected from a “next gen” game that was being developed with a more capable engine for supposedly 2 years? No. This game should have been pes 2021.

I’m no developer or anything and I’m gonna say this out of my arse but it feels like they didn’t need to switch to unreal, fox engine would be perfectly capable of running this. So it makes me think the only reason they switched engines was for developing the same game for mobile and consoles as people say unreal is the perfect choice for that.

Time will tell if it is true but if it turns out to be, then it might be the end of an era for offline players as konami confirms mobile and esports are their priorities as opposed to trying to create the ultimate footy sim. Which makes sense for a company as they aim to maximize profits, and we’re talking about konami here, but it hurts to witness it as a football games fan.

To all PC users: The reason why Konami is treating PC Versions secondary has to do with PES 2013 Demo, which was cracked. People revealed some stuff which should haven't happened (Teams,Editor,Stadiums, Matchtime etc.). Since then PC Version first never got a Demo until release for a long time and also were inline with old gen versions. Don't except PES 2022 PC to be same game with PS5/Xbox Series Versions.

I can tell you with nearly 100 percent confidence, however, that PC will be the next gen version. It's ridiculously easy on Unreal Engine to port a console game to PC (can take only a few days). This wasn't the case for the Fox Engine.
