What are your predictions for the PC version?
I'm expecting the old gen version because Konami don't give a fuck.
I dont think there will be old-gen and next-gen ... it will be same game in Unreal Engine, you will just be able to turn on some graphic and physics (like hair) features on PS5 and new Xbox.

PC will probably be on the line of PS5.

Calling it now, this will be the last PES they release before they announce they are going to scrap the game completely.
Anyone calling this the mobile version is incredibly naive i'm sorry to say, especially when an ex pes employee says they are confident it isn't, and the survey questions. If they can't produce a half decent game when they have 2 whole years to work on it, there's no hope.

Such a shame as the amount of people fed up of fifa is at an all time high.. opportunity missed

😔

Sorry, i only react on what i am seeing/reading. I don't see/read this note to Eurogamer, so don't blame me for that..

This is the gamechancer for me. If Konami states this is PES 2022, then it is. And than Konami is a joke. Two years of work and you only can show this. For a nextgen game? Its looks like 2008 for me, meaby worse.
Maybe it would have been worth reading these things first before suggesting the people you were replying to (including me) were somehow failing to understand the situation. It's very clear what this is: an early build of the next PES game, one which, yeah, borrows elements from the mobile version. But you don't even need to read their statements to Eurogamer or IGN – it's even there in the FAQ page. They describe this as a version of the current project, and it's hosted on the pes section of their site.

If we follow the events of the last days, this gif can also be described as:
"Expectations vs Reality"
Honestly chuckled so much at this. Whatever happens with the final product, this Shressi meme is going to last a while and it is glorious.
July 21st announcement = announcing the date when the first teaser trailer's date will be announced.

Mark my word.
You remember well, I take it, when they teased a reveal, but the reveal turned out to be an announcement for when the actual reveal would be! A few years ago, I think. It was the most soul-sucking shit 🤣

I'm one of those skpectical guys. Look the video @ThomasGOAL published

I just score this goal, look Lewandowski block the goalkeeper

It seems that some parts are next gen and some models are mobile-to-console ported. I mean, stadiums are great, probably next-gen
Pitch and player models looks like mobile versions, specially for being low-poly model.

Not even facial hair they have. It reminds me when I used to play GTA 3 with a low-end graphic card. Thats why I think these parts are ported from mobile version.

PS: @Konami, if this how it looks final PES 2022 version, please give us a PES 2020 Updated for the second time lol

God the net physics are worse than PES4. What is this "online only code"? What use is it testing the netcode if it's not loading everything? TBH this looks more like a half-assed job by a small development team.
This is what's most bewildering about people saying "it's not the next PES, they're JUST testing the netcode". It's like, do you guys even know what that means? Literally what is the point of testing a random game you don't plan to release to "test the servers"?

Not to mention all the other stuff in it that would be bizarre for a non-game test-only release: stadium announcer with all these lines, souped-up gameplan, continuous in-play/out-of-play animations, new control scheme with PlayStation pad explainers, pre-game cutscenes, a new defending system, etc etc.

The idea that they've created all those changes just for a weird test code that isn't the base for the next main sequel is even more insane than Konami are.

I can tell you with nearly 100 percent confidence that it will be the next gen version. It's ridiculously easy on Unreal Engine to port a console game to PC (can take only a few days). This wasn't the case for the Fox Engine.

Do you know what it means? It's called stress testing and it just tests server capacity and stability. They're measuring how many people would be interested in playing the game and seeing if the servers can take it, tweak them around, check possible failure points, et cetera. Afaik there were gonna be new regional servers at places so it makes absolute sense that they try to stress test those, specifically. The game might also involve new matchmaking code, one that they can test around using the demo.

Game looks like crap because they're using several mobile assets, and why? Because it makes the game weigh absolutely nothing giving for a fast download, saves them from exploits uncovering leaks. In addition it wouldn't be surprising has some sort of telemetry, because even when we're near release, it's still some months to get there, and they might be interested in checking how people play against each other to tweak things.

This is literally Q&A through the users, lots of companies do it. Prior to Windows 11 being announced, the Windows Insider testing program gave three useless updates with the exact same purpose: test stability, see how updates are delivered, optimize in response.

Konami might've become worse over time and even released some stinkers... but this is exaggerating even about that.

I don't think even Konami think they'd get away with the final version looking anything like this. There are plenty of even low budget games on PS4 that look way better. They'd be the laughing stock of the industry.

I'm fairly confident the final game will look the part, I'm far from confident that this gameplay isn't the basis of what we're getting for the next few years.

I do wonder if it's a Konami ruse. The gameplay doesn't impress and they're possibly struggling to get it anywhere near good enough for release this year. So they show us this ugly duckling now to dampen people's expectations and then at the official announcement in a few weeks, they show us the latest version with all the pretty gfx and hope enough people will be so relieved and dazzled that they'll overlook the gameplay and proclaim that the king is back..

I've bought almost all of the new pes games since Pes 2011, but for the first time, I want PES to sell less. Because now KONAMI needs to realize something. This ridiculous marketing and unfinished games need to come to an end. KONAMI has been milking us fans with the same unpolished games for years. (this is also true for the FIFA series. Both games are made about milking the fans, but the PES series has a special place in us, so this situation started to become very annoying)

Of course its not going to look like this.
They will make sure graphics are stunning, coz this is the main thing they focused on for a while now.

My fear is that gameplay wont be far of what we are seeing here.
The survey itself is more or less a proof for this. A lot of questions are purely gameplay related (defending, dribbling, referees, goal satisfaction).
Its like they are testing the waters to see how far is this gameplay from satisfactory. If they had another, much more developed version of gameplay (not graphics, as I can understand that this might be very basic, shaved and compressed version of the game graphics) - they wouldnt be asking those questions. It would be pointless. Gameplay experience would be vastly different on their more developed version.

It amazes me how there are still people who claim that this has nothing to do with Pes22.. every time I see posts like this, I have but one thing on my mind..

To all PC users: The reason why Konami is treating PC Versions secondary has to do with PES 2013 Demo, which was cracked. People revealed some stuff which should haven't happened (Teams,Editor,Stadiums, Matchtime etc.). Since then PC Version first never got a Demo until release for a long time and also were inline with old gen versions. Don't except PES 2022 PC to be same game with PS5/Xbox Series Versions.

I wonder what would happen if the vast majority of responses to the survey stated they were "very dissatisfied" with every aspect of the gameplay. Would Konami just plough on with release regardless, or revert to plan B, PES2022 "season update 2".

Graphics aside which surely won't be the final console version , the game plays shit. Clunky mess and ball physics are shocking. For me it looks like and plays like a mobile game.

This is a combination of "low punt trajectory" skill card and bad CPU awareness. It has happened to me many times in PES 2021 and 2020.
When GK is crowded i have witnessed many times he volleyed the ball with low pant, on my player's or his teamate defender's back.

I don't have a problem that BETA for PS5 looks bad, like they say a lot of next-gen graphics and futures are missing, but what worries me how bad it runs on the new generation consoles!

The menus and especially at cutscenes, highlight the frames drop to 30 fps, or worst! And again, there is no physics of the kits or hair, Ray Tracing or new Lumens and shadows are missing, the resolution of the stadium, the grass, etc. is extremely low and the game runs so bad. I hope this is due to the extremely poor optimization by Konami at this stage.

From a certain distance yes, but not so close.
My personal theory in this is, since the game CPU AI pretty much is reading inputs, when it detects that you are trying intentionally to block the GK's volley, it renders a predetermined animation scene that the ball travels normally, even clipping thorugh your players upperbody. When you don't have the cursor on the impact player, and he stands inside the ball destined trajectory by coincidence, the upper scenario does not activate and the ball is free to bounce to a players body, if it meets him.

Here , since it is a beta version, i believe the AI is not so heavy oriented to read input and situations, so that's why it happened.
If this is a possiblity in final game, it would end up as an exploit, where every CF will apply basketball marking to the voleeying GK.

Konami sent an e-mail to some influencers saying "this is almost the first version of Pes. The game will be much more advanced when it comes out. This is just an online performance test"

Just did the survey, feelings made somewhat clear. No idea why we answer questions about pes21 right beside NFGT22 if NFGT22 isnt pes 22.

The questions in the survey must be ironic, surely? Either they enjoy the punishment or they're taking the piss because their questions are targeted with surgical precision at everything that is catastrophically awful about NFGT22!

It reads more like our feedback mindmap.

Played aanother couple of matches and...
It seems better than yesterday in terms of stuttering and lag, but it often has those responsiveness issues (like players letting the ball past exactly besides them or having a cross bounce on their back without even noticing it) that still worry me because I know they'll not only be online-related (seen them too many times offline in the past years to be naive enough to still think they're communication issues between the players).
