eFootball (All Platforms)

I still wonder if it is incompetence or malice.
Either they fucked up their programming workflow and reintroduced an old version code into the latest version, or they decided the changes where somehow counterproductive to making money.

I thought the community loved v3.0.0 gameplay?

So let me get this straight: A remake of MGS 3 and SH 2 will be using UE5, but not Efootball, which has been out since September 2021? Incredible.
3 years and nothing has changed.

Oh and remember they told the fans that ML would be available as additional paid content in 2023?

The whole thing is a lie. As far as I know, we are into 2024, and the only 'paid content' would be still eFootball coins and certain packs.

Also, the grammar is awful for the first part. A social account for a professional company should have no mistakes grammatically or spelling-wise. Proof that this wasn't double-checked before it went out. Clear that they possibly had a plan, and then someone went and lost it down the back of the photocopier.

True yet terrible poem. The last line is too long.

How about:
eFootball is crap
I deleted this game
I would make a rap
But Konami are lame

So here's a short poem
For causing all this fatigue
And Konami...? Well Em
People just want Master League
I kinda remember posting one to someone complaining about the referees being too strict (in PES 2020 demo I guess?) and I was trying to show how bad the game would be if there were no fouls, but I can't find it anywhere anymore.
It might have been deleted along with some other posts of that time because I seem to remember that the trhead I posted it in turned into a flame-fest at a certain moment, so I'll try and go by heart.
It was something like this (pretty sure about the ending of the sentences, kinda sure about most of the rest)...

Those referee decisions don't even make me frown,
I hope that one day Sergio Ramos mows you down.
And when he does, please don't come back here cryin',
'cause the ref said "play on" even though you were down, dying.
Won't be a foul even if they stab you with a knife,
this being said... In this game I can't score to save my life.

Good old times they were.

Filled with absolute and unequivocal truth

Speaking of the AI improving, how much would we be onboard with the AI becoming better (almost human-like) and yet as well seeing manual commands change at times to merely cajoling our AI/teammates to arrive at a certain outcome (actually in the past our video gaming did come through with various levels of success)? Is that worth considering to put us more in the shoes of a player/manager leading the team to the top, or am I way off the mark today? 🤣

Please send this to Konami. this guy is spot on. What I like about it is he represents so many people so annoyed by this demo and refuse to slog out playing fantasy cheeseball online vs 70% of people just desperate to win, whether good or shit its just such a dull experience.

I made a fantastic decision in my break back home not to bring my console and just my PC/Laptop for PES 2021 stuff,.

I not only haven't missed efootball at all. I don't think I see any reason to play this again properly ever until we get master league.

No, eFoolball, obviously

I think eshamblessball is just as appropriate.

27 months since this shambless has been released and 27 months later its still, yes, still a shambolic demo. That alone tells you everything which is wrong. People are and have just got fed up with this demo and have moved on. No matter how many online based free cards Konami throw at you or stale online events.

Konami will kill even this microtransactions dream soon enough as their target market has no love or loyalty to this within their short attention spans, the player base they have will not last long in the games current shambolic state. The wishy washy gameplay changing every week annoys people online, but with no proper offline content to skin their teeth into which built the true culture and community of this game will kill this product, no matter how good the balance sheets look from the last year.

EAFC is as we all know shambolic but have scored a huge win by default over Konami in that as soon as their player base get angry and infuriated with online 'scripts' ( I call it cheese). They can sink their teeth into albeit buggy offline CM, Leagues, tournaments, challenges etc.. and shock horror, 'creative content'.

I am not jumping on the AI nostalgia bandwagon just because I wasn't a ML aficionado in PES/WE's heyday. Presumably as advancement would have been made to improve the game beside the AI, i.e. graphics, physical fidelity, easthetics & presentation, frame rates, realism, gameplay, etc over the years, the assistance by the CPU has come in positively even when game controls have seen minor tweaks and changes (like match up & analog switch for instance).

Is the AI ineffective, poor, or dumb? I hardly notice the glaring frailties that hold the game back. Aren't they minuscule frankly?

Gameplay finesse comes to forefront as ever in eFootball. Is the AI assistance over the top; is it lending to much of helping hand in defense (when a user can put down the controller, pressing nothing); is it taking over gameplay and taking from the user? I might answer yes to the defense assistance being almighty and near impossible to beat in that scenario, but that's okay. It's only one facet of a challenge I can have for myself to become better.

Beating the last line of defense and having the end product to finish remains the hardest thing to do in the sport by many accounts. Whether the animations are still on the wonky, silly, & corny side, realism that will convince even the harshest critic is just around the corner from that. Ironically, if by one facet the AI should have the capacity to park the bus as a reactionary coping mechanism, wouldn't we expect more realistic gameplay going to the other way?

I haven't played this game since December 2022 (tournament with a few friends), and before that, the day after it came out and I couldn't tolerate it then.. so I have just popped in here to send this comment from that video:

Sad

The saddest thing about that comment is that it’s the most enjoyable football on the market…because unfortunately it’s true!

And this is why you have to realize that all those comments about the game being a failure and so on, are just not true. We might not like the direction they are heading, we might wish for a classic PES with Master League, but financially the game is a success for Konami.

Especially the Asian market where Free2Play is established, plus if you look at some of their licensing for Clubs/Leagues you can see they target markets where consoles are either not so readily available or economies are at the moment a bit weaker and so a Free2Play game is more attractive.

Nowadays the Tier 2 and 3 countries, how they are called in the Mobile Gaming market, are becoming very attractive since Mobile phones with good chips now have a reach in most countries and are easily available, so it is still an emerging market especially for Football games.

That is just mobile, right !? And oh... it's wrong, let me fix it!
