eFootball (All Platforms)

If you look closely on your "wall of shame" there is even @Bogo36 there if you're aware (the creator of the Unlocker fix for eFootball, and he is really busting his ass there to adapt fixes to new versions that offline players could enjoy better on this bare bone demo-like experience, and he doesn't offer coins to promote his work). Nobody is forcing you to bust your ass mate to agree on something, if you feel that you are right on that particular matter so be it, everybody has its own experience on eFootball and we can share or we can agree liking a particular aspect in a comment with hundreds of likes or totally disagree... and that shouldn't frustrate you if you're right... right??? On the contrary. I don't think showing publicly how much people liked a particular comment will resolve your frustration in the end, instead will enhance it even further...
Well 'bust my ass' was an exaggeration. It was actually easy and took a minute to put together because of how frequently it happened and was recorded. Strange how your post got so many likes from the same group when it's based on this argument of how easy/hard it was to put together. Such a slam dunk argument. (/s in case that way missed)

Yeah I would call it a wall of shame when it's a group of people agreeing that the facts I listed about PES and eFootball was 'flat out wrong'. It really does show you the amount of misinformation going on over here. Again, I wasn't giving 'my opinion', that was a fact of the game. He said it was 'flat out wrong' without even bothering to elaborate further, and a group agreed blindly. So now the guy who mentioned a fact about the game, supplementing it with actual footage from the game, becomes a 'Salty eFootball defender', while the guy who wrongly says 'uh your wrong!' gets the automatic likes from the same group that drive misinformation on this thread. Not good, really.

Never, ever in my life I explained why I "liked" a post, but will do it now. There were two reasons.

First, is your glorification of "match-up" mechanics, which I strongly disagree. In this state I find it almost broken.
It requires you to press it because players will just ignore the ball if you don't. But reaction when you press it is not good.
Defenders are over reacting on fake shots and skills, regardless of context, you don't see it IRL. The reason is that kids who bought premium Messi and Neymar could feel good with their skills and fake shots. Also, ball going through players legs randomly (or maybe it is on purpose) regardless of user input.
It's a cheap way to differentiate players stats and I don't like it.

For me, what made pes great, was the perfect balance between user input and players stats, and I think with this version of efootball this balance has been violated. Significance of user input has never been this low. And all because one purpose. To spend money. So when you lose, you don't think: I could play better or could done something different. You think, I need better players. And "match-up" mechanics is PERFECT TOOL for this.

Now, my English is not great and I'm not a youtuber/content creator or whatever, so no fancy videos, but I think I explained my point so you can understand it.

Second reason why I liked his comment, there is a feeling, I might be wrong, that you think you opinion matters more than others just because you are a youtuber/content creator and I disagree. Like I said, I could be wrong with this one.

Thanks for explaining why you liked a misinforming comment, which yes, in fact, is something that needs to be explained. When someone makes a categorically FALSE statement, and you like it, then yes, it needs to be explained.

I didn't 'glorify' anything. Mentioning that a mechanism exists in a game, and that it doesn't exist in another game, is not a 'glorification' of this mechanism. I'm thankful that now at least we have a method to intercept balls, and it's intentional, and changes how you pass and how you defend in a way that rewards players who think about interceptions. It just adds a degree of control that we didn't have before. None of this is my opinion, this is a fact of eFootball vs PES. When someone says that what I just wrote is 'flat out wrong', and you like it, then yes, an explanation of why you liked a misinforming post is due.

And no it's not perfect. It's year 1 of this new mechanism. The exaggerated reaction to fakes happens when you do it on the stronger foot. That's a nice touch that actually happens in real life. It needs to be better optimized, no doubt.

Yes, I have a YouTube channel. If that warrants an automatic 'dislike' from you regardless of what I'm saying, and an automatic 'like' to anyone else who contradicts what I wrote, even if this person is misinforming others, then I'm not the person in the wrong here, am I?

Just need to add My thoughts here.
No one should need to justify a like or otherwise.
No one is going to win the internet.
Everybody remember what the thread is about, and focus less on people, and conspiracy theories ,and false news, and misinformation.
It just over complicates a very simple situation, of liking, disliking or sitting on the fence.

As for Me, I would be very generous if I called the game unfinished .
And I refrain from commenting on the "gameplay".

It only has the objective of making money from loot boxes , and the sooner the gaming industry wakes up to people voting with their feet the better.

We have to disagree on this one. I don't see it as controlling anything. We are just pressing a button. Then the game decides the outcome and what will happen next. So if a Neymar performs a skill, game decides your high rated defender will become a 150kg ballerina. If Messi makes a pass, game decides your defender will become a ghost. I don't feel I'm controlling anything with this one.

Fifa is in the worst state it’s been in a long time imo, I can’t even finish a single game. I gave this a go again recently and whilst it’s miles from a finished game, it does feel like there’s something in there.

The lack of offline modes/teams is an absolute disaster. If they added teams/modes/options I’d give it some time but as it is I have zero interest in playing.

But Your not in the FIFA thread are You. So don't mix it.

Well i am not a moderator, and I don't intend to be, neither i am capable of, but could we stop this trend about who presses "LIKE" om whom?

What's this? Thought Police Crime? Are we in a dystopia?

EDiT: this was my post i was typing, before @superleeds1 intervention.
Just need to add My thoughts here.

Thanx for clearing this @superleeds1 , for a moment i was very anxious, with this Thought Police issues.

I mean, most of us have reacted with "LIKES" to posts from people, that were even banned the very next moment.

So let's don't fall in this loophole. People are free to react to whatever they "like" or like, without need of explanation.

Let's keep it as democratic and simple as possible, at least regarding reactions....

"It doesn't add control" followed by "you press a button" is kindof a contradiction. You actually do control whether or not your player will react to a pass/shot animation (that might lead to an actual pass/shot) or not. Yes, that constitutes adding 'one more level of control' that didn't exist in PES before. What is it criminally wrong to point out such an obvious thing that actually exists over and over again for the past 3-5 pages? And yes, this affects how you attack, and how you defend, you know, the two things you do in a football game. I feel like everytime I mention something in eFootball, I need to apologize in advance for it, then preface it with a negative aspect, then apologize again, and pray someone doesn't attempt to misinform others who clearly aren't playing either games about the feature's existence. It's moment like these that unintentionally filter out comments about the game on this thread and restrict accepted opinions to the like of "EF is a cash grab that sucks in every way and nothing in it is better than in PES period!". This is the kind of opinion that is generally the only accepted one in this thread.

Mate I pressed the like button on your comment (sorry I sneezed). Now that everything is done and can't be undone, I should elaborate: if I'll subscribe can I get... you know... some juicy coins as reward to improve my "match-up" with one of these? ⬇️

Everybody remember what the thread is about,
It's about discussing eFootball. Here I am pointing out an actual feature that exists in eFootball, and because this fact doesn't fit with the 'cash grab gameplay sux balls in every way' narrative, it gets automatically attacked and pointed out as false. Eventually, the thread doesn't become an 'eFootball' thread. It becomes an 'eFootball sux balls in every way' thread. This is how misinformation happens. It's a thing.

Yeah I guess its a tough mission when the majority seem to dislike this unfinished symphony with a passion.

But not surprised. It remains heavily submerged at No 11 in the STEAM Hall of Shame . It has a long way to go before it claws its way out.

Just a reminder that Evo Web did not put it there, Konami take a bow.

It's sad but that is what remains of a great franchise: an online-only cash-grab of a mobile game with regular updates to add player cards and milk the users with microtransactions.
I wouldn't bust my ass analyzing every detail of this sorry excuse of a game, but I'm not the one to judge differing opinions.
Like or dislike my post at your own risk. 😉

That's why i put a "Haha" to your post.
Sometimes you like one post not especially for the whole content.
The Knight absolute thruth tone was annoying, and that post "flat out" makes me smile with a good timing. That's all.

....

I just imagine if every got to justify why he liked one post. Every time like i just did, as an example.
And it's pretty awful.

🤣 don't bother, pretending PES 21 had no issues is their way of coping

The joke's on you because I thought PES 21 was just as bad but for different reasons. Haven't played a football game in years, given what should be possible tech wise nowadays they're complete cack, both have needed to be rewritten from the ground up for years. Although I do hold a special vitriol for Konami just because they had the perfect opportunity for a next-gen rebuild and instead sold out to the mobile crowd. Football gaming is dead, it's just people arguing over which corpse can be better positioned in such a way to make it look like it has some sign of life.

The Knight absolute thruth tone was annoying,
What can I say. The sun rises from the east, and eFootball has a mechanism to intentionally intercept passes, PES didn't, and you liked a misinforming post that said it wasn't true (with an impeccable totally not arrogant 'tone' worthy of a like, I must add), and the sun sets to the west. You're not disliking or liking a tone, because his tone blew and he used it to propagate misinformation so it's not like he was being arrogant for a good cause. Anyway, I'll continue to point out the good and bad about a football game, in thread made to discuss that football game. Yeah, I like to live dangerously apparently if that's what living dangerously means around here (hint: it shouldn't).

It only has the objective of making money from loot boxes , and the sooner the gaming industry wakes up to people voting with their feet the better.
And that's the beauty, well nightmare of mobile gaming; it ensures them the potential at a healthy player base no matter how many people get wise. Konami's made it very clear their focus and intentions. I can't comment on the state of FIFA as I don't play it and haven't cared to in a while. Makes you wonder if a third developer will get into market focused on console gaming and offline modes as opposed to the heavy focus on online card collecting.

PES 2021 update is basically in the place that PES 2009 was in my mind. PES 2009 was an awful game, but I got used to it. I got used to its flaws, got used to its gameplay, and figured out how to have fun with it. PES 2021 has some glaring issues that I've written essays on, but it has its moments so I play it (as well as 2017 now that I have that working properly).

Football gaming is far from dead. It just isn't what it used to be nor is what a lot of us think it could and should be. It certainly feels like it isn't for me anymore.

Like I said before: it is to bad that some go into name calling, mockery etc just because someone has a different opinion. I think some of it is way off, like the post about "give me some coins", to mock you, but it is the mods choice how much they let go. I do think it should be possible to talk the good and bad of efootball without personal attacks.

Yeah, I just meant dead from a sim gamer/football purist/offline gameplay perspective, it's never going to die commercially. I just laugh when I see these smug people acting like they are so enlightened versus the plebs that aren't happy with things, or still engaging in the FIFA vs PES debate as if it matters one jot, it's like those Japanese soldiers who are still in their bunker years later without realising the war is already over.

All that for a simple like...

Don't intellectualise a primary reaction for a like which was more a > please, stop the "i know everything" more than the content itself.

You talk a bit too much like you knows everything, like if you own the absolute thruth. That's condescending and kinda like an indirect insult to our intellect. We got argument for why we play PA1. Also you were less like this before, more mesured.

And you've made a PES 2021 realism review with a modded gameplay PC version no? So even 150 hours of works, it's obsolete as you don't play the real delivery.

Plus your "manual is the only way. That's the thruth, sorry for the other" bla bla etc. bring me back 10 years back. We talked in longer and larger about it and concluded it's ain't more realistic in some terms (doing ultra precise passes with Boateng or complete miss with Pirlo) but it's all about fun and more than all : freedom. variety. Not realism. And i'll pass others issues, like the AI not understanding what happens as the CPU awereness know if it's Zidane or Makelele who will made a through ball.

I think it the EF defending is a bit too much even with arguable things, the "small team support" effect.
I also defended some aspect from that game/beta, but when i found something wrong or bad, i won't turn around to found something good behind it.
For example and players reaction (after, it's not always), and all related to ball physics, it's a big no, Beta lookalike.

The ball got a very small or "not already programmed" gravity effect overall with long shots and passes : there's no or very few decrease in speed. Ball fly all straight, even on PES 1 there's nothing like that.
To me (so my opinion since the start) you can defend many stuffs and focus on it but not ball physics in any ways passes or whatever, you're aiming the wrong stuff. There's good thing in that game, but don't transform poop in gold.

That was my impression in 0.9. The ball just kept rolling and rolling, unrealistically and I absolutely hated it. Recorded many clips of it. But it looks like it was one of the things addressed in 1.0, because the ball no longer rolls that way at all. I think the increased friction explains why the ball bounces into the direction of its spin in 1.0, compared to 0.9 where it just bounces in straight lines no matter how it's spinning.

Again, it just seems that everyone here is referring to 0.9 when discussing 1.0.
This is bonkers. I am referring to the lack of ground friction in recent builds, certainly post 0.9x. If you think this no longer happens, what can I say? Sounds like you're peddling misinformation there. It's a thing.
That's not what's even bothering me. Look at how many likes his "you're flatout wrong" comment got

View attachment 174436

Like here I am, busting my ass to put together clips that show exactly what I'm talking about, and that it's not a segment of my imagination, and here comes this guy with "you're wrong" and people here applaud. Whatever.
Never have I seen such self-important twaddle. You really do love the whiff of your own farts.

And all this to valiantly secure the urgent truth that "eFootball has a kind of interception command, sort of"

Match-up is a broken pile of wank, somewhat clever in conception, broken in implementation, and laughable as some measure of realism. (And, for all that, players did contextually intercept in PES fairly often if positioned right – still an ineffective system.)

Keep an eye out for those who like this comment btw, and make sure to screenshot it and expose them for doing such a dishonour to your precious self.

Now, excuse me while I go bust my ass half-proving my points with selective footage while working in some juicy coin giveaways – seriously, I'm on my way to a prolapse with how much ass-busting I've been doing. Be grateful.

Wait, so it's bad to prove a point using footage? How long exactly should the footage be to not earn your 'selective!' tag? Yes I spend weeks editing several examples of a certain problem or feature in the game to highlight it, but clearly you can do a better job with a 'trust me bro, it's there!' snicker.

Yes, ball friction in 1.x is somewhere between 0.9 and PES. Yes, the ball doesn't travel as much, and yes the ball friction leads to a more pronounced bounce into the direction of a ball spin in 1.0, compared to 0.9. I have footage of course but I forgot, it's bad to show footage to illustrate a positive point about this game, and who am I kidding, the footage will be 'selective!'. Anything else, @janguv?

Awfully fraught in here over the past few days.

Just remember: don't give any weight to the opinion of strangers. Life's too short to get pissed off by people you don't know.

As you were.

Sometimes this place needs some good 'herbs' to settle down all the spice ;)

The main thing is if Konami actually had respect for offline players and allowed us to dive into 15+ minute games and Leagues/Cups/Tournaments and challenges we all could see and show evidence to what this game can do. But we can't, many here are angry and don't want to play it, I've just about had enough until offline appears so nothing in any of these debates will be resolved until Konami sort their game out and give us some respect. Not this Dream Team only focus nonsense.

Jesus Christ, guys. That's enough. Enough of the childish mud-slinging and name-calling. Bans are coming if you ignore this, no second chances. You have been warned.

Someone has taken a lot of time to create something in the form of a video highlighting what they like about a game. If you disagree with the points made, sure, discuss it, but give each other some respect, or log off. The troll comments and sly dogs have gone on long enough.

By the way, this applies equally to both sides - I'm getting pissed off with the regular "it's cool to hate eFootball isn't it" comments, and seeing the word "toxic" repeated by certain people. If you genuinely believe that an adult is spending their free time logging onto a forum to type out their opinions of eFootball, a game that basically nobody has heard of outside of specialist websites, for "cool points" - I mean, who with? A bunch of about 50 faceless nerds who are the only ones left who care about Konami's football output?

If you seriously don't like reading that people don't like the game you like, and your only reasoning can be that they're trolls - or you don't like reading criticism of how Konami are handling the release and promotion of their mode-light, microtransaction-mode focused product... I think that says a lot more about your viewpoint than theirs, and you can opt out of reading posts here whenever you like, either via the "ignore" button or the "log out" button.

On that subject... Use the "ignore" button. It is your friend. Try it. I'm being serious. If you can't read someone's opinion without being angry, do it. It will make your Evo-Web experience much nicer.

TL: DR; bans for every sly dig, insult and anyone generally being a prick from now on.

(Basically, what Tom says below.)

Please, guys, refrain from any personal insults, we're all better than this. Don't anger papa, I seriously don't even have a fucking clue what's this all about. Cheers.

(I agree with our chief diplomat Mr. Davies. He continues being a valuable source of never-ending wisdom and compassion. And for that I thank him from the bottom of my heart which is as deep as the Mariana Trench)
