eFootball (All Platforms)

@The_Knight I disagree on some of your statements regarding EF 22, but I still think you're more level headed than some of the other PES youtubers out there who have completely sold out their principles, and you're not afraid come on here and take your lumps. How you handle those criticisms is entirely up to you, and it shouldn't takeaway from your overall contribution to this community, but I think you need to humble yourself a bit. Just be mindful on how some of your statements regarding playstyle, differing opinions, and knowledge of the game and how offensive they may come across as.

You can like this game, or this particular version of the game, but when you try to objectively compare it to PES 21, I'm sorry, but it's not even close. PES is a polished game, with modes, better graphics, and turf that looks like actual turf, and not like some poorly rendered carpet. Me saying this doesn't absolve the problems in PES because I can agree with you that Coinami could have done better with PES and some of it's gameplay mechanics, and that EF have adopted some interesting gameplay mechanics, despite them being poorly execution in the game.

Coinami have less than 2 months to pull a rabbit out of it's hat, and make the game more interesting to coincide with FIFA 23 release, and the World Cup competition that's also going to be in this year's FIFA. If not, then those FIFA players who've migrated over to EF because of dream team will simply return to base when FIFA 23 is released. The player base will shrink even further than it already is.

That fact that this year's FIFA will be next gen on PC will draw more eyes to their product, and it will be the last time they'll use the FIFA name, so naturally people are going to more interested in that. It's close to 100GB of storage according to steam, so people will be anticipating for that release. All I see right now from Coinami is more of the same. I don't particularly fancy dream team, but just adding a bunch of new features, servers, new animations, cut scenes, longer time limit, dynamic weather system, a moral system, injury system, trophies, knockout rounds, cup competitions, and other things that you would find in an offline mode would help boost dream team. It would signal that they are at least trying new things. But no, it's more packs like we give a damn. The tone deafness from this company amazes me. They had it all in the palm of their hands up until last year's release.

Great post. On this specifically, I saw there's a new community guy on Twitter (finally). I think he might end up giving Lygard and his shoe collection a run for his money; one can only hope.

Most of his output so far seems to be baseless hype; you love to see it.

Reminds of that classic from another rep, "Trust me guys, impressions coming soon that will 🤫" – before eFootball came out.

EF has 1 mode, and a demo mode. I think that says it all. Of course there's no disagreement about the comparison between both in the modes department, and there has never been a disagreement in that department. And frankly I'm tired of having to keep reiterating all the downfalls of eFootball everytime I speak about literally any single positive aspect of the game. Telling me that PES is a more polished complete game as if I ever disagreed with this, is exactly the defensive corner I've been pushed into whenever I bring up any single positive aspect in eFootball. Like, "eFootball has better ball interception y'all". Response: "WHAT? Are you telling me it's a more polished game? A more complete game? Are you telling me is has more modes? It's trash!". Uh no, I'm not saying that at all. I'm talking about ball interception. Why do I need to hear about the lack of modes etc? When did I ever say eFootball is even comparable to PES in the modes department?

As for graphics, I mean this really is up to your taste. Of course modded PES is leagues ahead of eFootball, except up close where the textures and lighting is simply better in the new engine. This comes at the cost of horrible optimization, or a complete lack of optimization. The game performs horribly, way worse than the most heavily modded PES, while managing to only look better up close which doesn't really matter in a game where 99% of the time is spent on a wide view. None of what I said here is a new opinion by the way. I didn't just make this up to satisfy the general sentiment on this thread. This has been my opinion all along and on the video review. But I guess when you bring up a single positive thing about the game, it triggers a group on this thread into a frenzy and pushes you into a corner where you can only become defensive for no reason at all. Then personal attacks follow, and as a result, any discussion only poura into one direction because nobody wants to deal with the backlash where any opinion that isn't clearly negative about any aspect of the game will be relentlessly attacked.

Coinami have less than 2 months to pull a rabbit out of it's hat,

Nothing will happen in 2 months. Just some international flavored events. I'll be seriously surprised if decent gameplay changes and modes are made available.

That fact that this year's FIFA will be next gen on PC will draw more eyes to their product, and it will be the last time they'll use the FIFA name, so naturally people are going to more interested in that.
This game is a broken old mess. Life would be a lot easier for me if FIFA was a good game. I want to like this game. If I wasn't sure a video I release would make enough money to fund this purchase, I would never waste my money on this trash. But more importantly, I'm not sure I even want to waste my time on it. I'll play the demo, and if it's tolerable I'll buy the full game, and hope I can tolerate it long enough to review it.

Yeah I wouldn't anticipate any major changes till next year tbf. Question is will there be any major announcements before then.

Yeah, I just meant dead from a sim gamer/football purist/offline gameplay perspective, it's never going to die commercially. I just laugh when I see these smug people acting like they are so enlightened versus the plebs that aren't happy with things, or still engaging in the FIFA vs PES debate as if it matters one jot, it's like those Japanese soldiers who are still in their bunker years later without realising the war is already over.
That's fair tbf.

I didn't saw at all hard proof about "pass physics better" at all. Neither the shoots showed (1 shoot from PES 21 randomly choosen vs 7 shoots took from days of playing : firstly it's not fair at all, secondary i saw more deceleration and ball hitting on one vid than the same thing on 7, yes 7 vids where i saw the same shedule on all of them no difference in speed and a lack of speed and kicking feeling (like 50% pushed strong, 50% hit. Already explained in a very long post but whatever)

And only volleys. Shoot from the ground are like the doesn't fall because of X factor and the gravity is lost on many situation.
Took every goal from shoots on vid and you'll see what i'm talking about. Why i don't like the game. Since ISS Pro not even Evolution, the game got 2 very important thing and one was the ball physics, the second was the player representation in his way to play.

Should i/we care about the friction when the whole ball physics is bad? I don't even found it better, not even different.
Don't need to make vids for it. That's the main reason i don't like that game, but when there's something good or better i didn't hesitated to argue about it.

But ball physics is the worst thing of the game, from pass speed variation, to rebound, to the ball deceleration etc.
Believe me, i would like the game or should i said the beta (there's hope it will be rectified like it was before). But i can't due to the ball circulation, rythm which seems similar for constuction, and plane-like or rubber ball shoot.

He can try and continue and i agreed with some of his statement until the last "it's better than X PES" thing. I got nothing against him, on the opposite. But when you play too much and your view feels like it's more realistic... You lost a lot of objectivity regarding what a "standard" or even "your own standard" should be.

It's about discussing eFootball. Here I am pointing out an actual feature that exists in eFootball, and because this fact doesn't fit with the 'cash grab gameplay sux balls in every way' narrative, it gets automatically attacked and pointed out as false. Eventually, the thread doesn't become an 'eFootball' thread. It becomes an 'eFootball sux balls in every way' thread. This is how misinformation happens. It's a thing.
i didnt attacked you, i just disagree that the matchup button its any big difference
especially when you presses the button and the signature let the ball run thru the legs happens

and again, for me, its related to the scripting nature of the game. If its supposed to happen, it will, no matter user input players habilities etc

sorry if it created a big problem

And again, bragging about the results of their partnership clubs Inter and Arsenal because other wise we won’t be able to find the results anywhere else on the internet -_-
My god Konami, focus on the game ffs

Tried it for the first time in weeks yesterday. It's OK playing manual passing online but as soon as you go up against Neymar /Mbappe/ Messi AND these jokers using PA1 it's just pause - > abandon. Pointless is an understatement.

I can't understand why there isn't any PA filters.

And we still can't play day matches!

There's countless of missing thing : normal it was rushed like hell to be out on Spring.
And also, there's a lot more chances that we'll got offlines mode than others online modes like Divisions.

As offline won't push people to play something else online than DreamTeam, but Division could or any other could.
Except if they add some pack to add players to add 3 or 4 players in any teams you will choose, Neymar at Groningen etc. > like i suppose they will may add if ML is out one day. They'll need to include paid stuffs on it like DTeam : but like on that mode, not obligated but some stuffs could force you to brought some pack, like a sequency to won vs World all stars to gain a lot of virtual wen/money for buying player on ML. Just simple speculation of "how to get money more than just the price of the DLC with an offline mode", don't take it seriously lol.

It won't happen, they're just good with Dreamteam, no risk with another online mode as it may use their servers, and they got to found a way about how to sold pack with it. Also time spend for them, when they have tons of stuffs to rectify. While offline dlc paid could be a copy past and that's all.

To me the thing that could/will disappears completely much more than offline (bringing money and online players will stay online > they don't give a damn) could be another one online mode as it's harder to do and risky for their packs selling. Sad because i hate all stuff like Dreamteam/myclub/FUT cards, but i can focus on division without issue.

Also no more 11 vs 11 neither : i remember they created a FUMA league (better for 11v11) and there were players all around the world which created they own team participating.
My italian friend and the guys in Pesuni told me they created a team, took their friends and subscribed i remember. From vids i saw, it was pretty cool even to follow on twitter. Some Wearepes good old friends was part of the guys who organised it, Carlopits etc.

Hey leave marketing alone lol what else are they gonna talk about? As soon as the devs give them something to talk about, I'm sure they will

I can't understand why there isn't any PA filters.
Was this a thing before? Because, if not, it should've been standard for years now. That's got me wondering, does anyone know the settings 'pro' players are required to use? Is it FUMA in tournaments? PA1? Or are they allowed to use whatever they like?

Whatever they want. Most play on highest assist, as "others play this way, so why should I have disadvantage".
Info from the horse's mouth, as I spoke with one of the "pro" players on private about this.

Thank you. Appreciate that bit of info. Probably indicative of why there aren't filters online.

first photo from efootball 2023
I hope we will indeed have something like that in the game, at least it would mean we have a cup mode to play but I highly doubt it
Otherwise they would have stated this in their press release on the 2023 update

Kick off glitch in PSG game tonight:

Not the first time this happens this season:

efootball influencing the football??

Match-up is a broken pile of wank, somewhat clever in conception, broken in implementation, and laughable as some measure of realism.

How often do you play eFootball +1.0? I just ask because I have over 700 hrs in PES2001, over 200 hrs in eFootball, and while it's far from perfect, uh, no: Match up is not "a broken pile of wank". When I'm playing eFootball, there is a way for me to intercept passes intentionally; a way that affects how I direct my passes, my decisions to pass, and my decisions to block. When I'm playing PES, none of that exists. Now if you feel so damn insecure that you'd rather dismiss this entirely, be my guest. Guess what? Doesn't make the feature disappear.

Never have I seen such self-important twaddle. You really do love the whiff of your own farts.

Please feel free to trace back any comment I made here that involved verbal abuse before embarking on that yourself. We're adults here (I hope), talking about a video game. There's no need to degrade the conversation with personal insults. @superleeds1 and any other moderator here should note that tolerating such remarks -despite being popular and funny, only serve to silence any opposing views in this "discussion" to just avoid future personal comments, which ends up steering the thread in a single direction.

Now, excuse me while I go bust my ass half-proving my points with selective footage

^^ I've responded to that. Yes, it actually does take a ginormous effort to index thousands of clips extracted from hundreds of hours of playing, analyze them separately, and extract footage that can highlight a problem or feature in the game, and show how affects gameplay. You can feel free to make fun of the process while you continue to yes, paddle misinformation about the game. If you'd prefer to exclusively see negative points demonstrated, there's plenty to feast your eyes on in the review. But no, it's not 100% negative because there are several gameplay changes worth carrying forward.

seriously, I'm on my way to a prolapse with how much ass-busting

^^ keeping it classy, again.

We dealt with this a couple of days ago. See my post below. I meant to delete the offending posts but frankly, there are so many (on both sides) I'd have to take a day off work.

Before anyone else fans the flames again, I ask you; please read the following statement and (to all) let's keep it civil from now on. And before anyone says it; I don't care who started it. I'm not your mother.

I repeat; any more childish mud-slinging, name-calling or sly digs (and that includes everything I mention below so please read it) will result in instant bans because I'm just as sick of dealing with this shit as everyone else is of attempting to read this garbage fire of a thread.

Jesus Christ, guys. That's enough. Enough of the childish mud-slinging and name-calling. Bans are coming if you ignore this, no second chances. You have been warned.

Someone has taken a lot of time to create something in the form of a video highlighting what they like about a game. If you disagree with the points made, sure, discuss it, but give each other some respect, or log off. The troll comments and sly dogs have gone on long enough.

By the way, this applies equally to both sides - I'm getting pissed off with the regular "it's cool to hate eFootball isn't it" comments, and seeing the word "toxic" repeated by certain people. If you genuinely believe that an adult is spending their free time logging onto a forum to type out their opinions of eFootball, a game that basically nobody has heard of outside of specialist websites, for "cool points" - I mean, who with? A bunch of about 50 faceless nerds who are the only ones left who care about Konami's football output?

If you seriously don't like reading that people don't like the game you like, and your only reasoning can be that they're trolls - or you don't like reading criticism of how Konami are handling the release and promotion of their mode-light, microtransaction-mode focused product... I think that says a lot more about your viewpoint than theirs, and you can opt out of reading posts here whenever you like, either via the "ignore" button or the "log out" button.

On that subject... Use the "ignore" button. It is your friend. Try it. I'm being serious. If you can't read someone's opinion without being angry, do it. It will make your Evo-Web experience much nicer.

TL: DR; bans for every sly dig, insult and anyone generally being a prick from now on.

They don't even have such a big team to make the game at a decent level in two years, so they need a few years to get to the desired level, like for PES2021, they also needed some time on the fox engine. It's a big minus that they lie to konami... Konami like an indie developer small team. 😁😂

Great to see a Konami comms guy continue in that fine tradition of internal back-patting over how good things like a "launch" is and a partnership deal.

Gets hopes very high that the real thing to be proud of will ultimately be the amazing eFootball gameplay.*

*Amazing gameplay available in a future update.
