eFootball (All Platforms)

Guys it wasn't not a joke. It was a real question: am I getting older and Dumber and can't find the option for a friendly match or there is really NOT such an option?

Well, here is a real answer mate for your real question and sorry if this will disappoint: there isn't such thing yet as friendly match (after almost an year), the only thing "offline" right now is just that demo trial option from the menu with the stupid name as "Authentic Team". So the only thing that you can do offline in the Konami's legit way is to play with those 9 teams during 10 minutes where you can select just one type of ball called eFootball ball. This is not an alpha or a beta version btw, they already reached the v1.0 and the only thing that you can tweak in settings graphically in that outdated menu outside the game is to change if you want to use full screen and some resolution. It's mind boggling right?

Also, you can try if you want a fix (unlocker) from @Bogo36 to use more teams and balls and other options, but I don't know how Koinameh will like that, so I guess for that you'll need to play without an online connection (ban reason), but I don't know for sure... Either way, I guess you'll have more fun in a modded PES 2021 version until you'll get more "offline" content for eFootball on December 2023.

I've been meaning to ask how many teams are playable in eFootball. I genuinely wonder why they don't allow you to play with more teams. They can't have suddenly lost all the licenses they had in PES 2020/2021 update. So why limit it to just 9?

Because they don't want you to play offline, simple as that. That world is already over. Playing offline is not as addictive as playing online. And if you're not addicted enough, you won't spend your money mindlessly. They don't want you to just relax and enjoy the game alone. You're not making them enough money that way. This is a modern business model. Nothing is free. If something is free, you are probably the product. Most companies today don't care about their customers. Not at all. They only care about their customers' money and how they can use psychological tricks on them to get their money. Sad, but that's the way it is. In fact, in a normal world, this kind of business should be illegal. Scam by design. These companies are not working for you, but against you in disguise. You are the product. But at least you are "free".

I dont mind the gameplay with some tweaks on formation and tactics. Pes are never playable for me on default since ages and the same applies for efootball. I learnt that from matt10l and klashman.

There are still legacy issues - on 14:04 the cpu rb just stop chasing richarlison for no reason. I dont think that will be fix anytime soon or ever.

I did skipped v1.1 until v.1.3 and notice less bugs present. I just hope we will get master league this month

While Master League not arriving on the 25th of August isn't good enough I will wait for it if when it does arrive its done properly. I think after the embarrassing launch last year a crap ML launch will do more hard than good so I can wait till they get it right.

What I will not accept and will signify the death of offline for me is if on the 25th we do not at the bare ****ing minimum we get League, Cup and Tournament modes.

I mean all they need to do is award GP and Stars for offline challenges in conjunction with trophies and they are literally good for a year regardless of the online stuff which is already sorted and setup however this have become incredibly stale!

I don't give a flying monkeys about what is coming online for efootball 2023, what matter to me is my offline fix, MY FIX! Everyone's personal or shared with friends fix for the season. I expect all the time limits for matches to be unlocked and offline things to do, I really don't see why a even basic edit mode similar to PES 2021 shouldn't come either, This is what any company with sense would do, go HARD next week to sell the basic 'efootball 2023' package for $30 or whatever to play with your friends offline and easily online with lobbies and team play. The online stuff is already setup, all the focus should be on offline now to even help online which will remain flawed fantasy football unless Konami wake up from all the microtransaction money and realize people play this game because offline it plays like FOOTBALL.

Even as EA hit the wall with their futureless engine Konami will crash too if they lose sight of why their target market plays the title in the first place.

We should maybe look at things from a different angle: what if Efootball was set to be ready by 2024 and what we have now is a beta version that we are able to test for free until then? In the meantime older versions of PES are still available or, if you are that desperate, FIFA is there…

They didn’t lose the licenses as these teams are playable against in Dream Team mode. They are just not unlocking them for offline mode.

Retro for me. No choice. Fifa has become... No words to describe it, but i even prefers to play PES 4 by miles, as bugged as it was.

Also, olders versions even the 2021 are not available neither on Steam or PSN or XBLive.

I don't think i will play their DreamTeam anydays because i don't want to.
Like i don't think offline will push out the DreamTeam players like the Myclub of FUT addict out, because it will be an offline DLC, and they will spend money for a pack instead.

And a DLC offline, easy to do and may bring money too. Just not a priority : improving DreamTeam and debugging their beta are priority ATM.
There's even all the fakes NT on the game, not a single player can by brought in DreamTeam, and plenty of very low cost player that won't appears neither. Why? To me i suppose it's for some offline modes. But not the typical offline we got in older PES. Or if they're cool with just the DLC buy... That's good (if the game will become good of course, ftm it's not the case)

There's a lot of thruth about forcing us and mind-games. But to me it's not offline what can push people to play something else... But another online mode, like Divisions. Also i suppose if they do an ML, or even tournament mode, you will got some elements to buy a pack of players with real money which are impossible to sign for example, or just add to your team.

Regardless of what I think of efootball and no ML,this actually looks like football.
I'm so damaged looking at FIFA 22 and Fifa 23 beta stuff that I'm quite surprised looking at this.
Not for me since I want a offline career, but just looking at it, looks pretty good

That's the reason I still play some games every now and then of this "demo like experience". And it shows in what an embarrassing state FIFA is in terms of gameplay and animations.
The real sad thing for me is, IF (!!) Konami or EA had wanted to make a proper football game and no cash-grabbing pack-opening game I really think Konami could deliver. But besides us old farts nobody wants that.

Just watch from 0:45.
Yes, the typical argument: " But 2K runs a casino, they are evil.."

What we always ignore, 2K sports, apart from their casino, they offer 5~10 well polished game modes, with tones of parameters and sliders to fine tune your experience, and presentation, that should make both footy games, feel ashamed.

While the angel-hearted KONAMI and EA offer an underground games-corner with 1,5 game modes each game, and since last year, KoNAMi with 0,5 modes .

No we don't ignore it. Gameplay wise their games are great, BUT this shouldn't mean that if you critique FUT and efootballs Dream team as gambling for Kids, that you should suddenly give them a pass.

I don't critique FUT and so on, but my argument is: I find it funny when Konami and EA are attacked for these modes and then 2K are suddenly the knights in shining armor.

KoNAMi and EA are critiqued, cause in order to harvest their casinos, they are neglecting and half-arsing their rest other (if any) modes, beyond any acceptable limit.KONAMI also passed the limits by complete scrapping out any other game modes.

Not just for having gambling in their games.

True buddy, I'm sure they could make a great game if wanting too.
Just hope a company like 2k gets involved or Konami getting their shit together again.
If football games is down to EA, we're done!

@Jay-Jay 10 if you want my opinion, for a 100th time:

Yes, 2k has the most evil, plagiarism, shaddy product placement, microtrans, gambling mechanics.

But in the meantime they are still better than the other 2 main sports publishers, cause, their casino doesn't affect the offline player, and they (almost) always deliver a product over 7,5/10.

Can i give you the most simple example? KoNAMi, EA keep their precious Legends and classic players only for MC and FuT crowd, while in NBA 2k, every classic team in game , is available from out of the box, by the very beginning of the game, for editing, friendly matches, and custom competitions.

They bought Nordeus, a Free2Play Mobile games company (Top Eleven) who was working on a 3D football game engine. If I were you I wouldn't get my hopes up seeing a real simulation game from 2K when the market is based on FUT.

2k gameplay wise delivered one of the best sim based basketball games with NBA 2k22 since 16
Offline/online two different things as well.
FIFA is just a horrendous mess, can't really take the comparison seriously (except for they're both greedy as hell)
Anyway this is a Pes/efootball thread.

Yes i know, i was playing Top Eleven in Facebook,in its very first days, about 8 years ago.

What has this to do with customer service? This is a typical business move. Most big companies tend to buy smaller ones, when they make some significant progress, and raise their value.

It is the business capitalistic world we live here, so money talks, nothing strange on this.

Isn't EA and Microsoft, buying lesser studios, and shutting them down, after purchase?

I mean, good or bad, moral or immoral, that's how business is done in the West hemisphere.

My point is they bought a Football Gaming company that as far as I know was working on a 3D Engine not only for Mobile but also for Console games. So if you see a football game from 2K it will very likely be developed by Nordeus and seeing their monetisation model, I wouldn't expect a simulation football game with a big focus on Offline players, but rather expect a Free2Play version (something that parent company Take Two would like).

Ok, since other people are annoyed by our Offtopic discussion, i will place this last sentence, and end it here by my side, to keep it ontopic.

Yes Nordeus did this, but first of all, if you see how Top Eleven started, it was not even a 2d, or text adventure sim engine.

The matches were simed in background , so even this primitive engine, is a "progress" for their game.

Didn't know about their console plans, last time i checked them, they were only expanded from Facebook, to Android and iOS.

And imagine that, if 2K bought them, they will now have much bigger budget and financial power ot work on their project.

That's all by me, sorry for Off Topic....

The market is wide open for 2K to grab the FIFA Licence and create a proper simulation. FIFA 2K24 - please save us!
As for 2K acquiring the fifa license, it's meaningless unless they can get leagues and times licenses many of whom are exclusive to EA or Konami at this point. The fifa license is pretty useless otherwise. Who cares about a game being titled fifa if you have no licensed leagues in it.

I have my thoughts on 2K sports in general but I'll leave them aside as that would just continue to sidetrack the thread.

As for PES/eFoot being sim/realistic I don't really think this game is all that realistic tbf. It lacks too much logic for it to be considered that. And with their focus being online and competitive that's fine. Sim/realism means there's going to some level of rng involved as random things happen in irl sports all the time. Rng should have no place in pvp imo. So I wouldn't be surprised if Konami takes more steps to make the game more skill based for lack of a better term as they move in their new direction.
