I still can't believe how people are digging so deep to find more positive aspects and claim that the AI is way better and evolved.. Really?
The AI literary has no self-awareness, they are running in the opposite direction of the ball, the stop-and-turn behavior happens even more often now. There are so many cases where you pass the ball to a player and they stand still and watch it go by them without even moving, it's just ridiculous..
Yes, the dribbling may feel good, but the negatives are so much more and the game still feels too unresponsive and slow, basically unplayable for me.
It's good to be optimistic and focus only on the good parts, but let's be realistic - this waaaaay far back from a v.1 game.
Also, don't get me started on the graphics like the turf which is one of the most essentials aspects of the game and the PC optimization...

Largely agree. I do think there's arguably more attacking variety from the AI now than before, and sometimes the team shapes can be a bit more realistic (like in Possession Game style with +1 attacking, in my experience). But it's still very common to see acres of space in matches, for balls lumped from a CB to a CF to be easy as anything, and for (as you say) the defensive AI to be clueless. A lot of it feels like legacy problems, but that's hardly a consolation.

"The final result was even more impressive than we had originally conceived."

Yeah, okay, Konami. We believe you...

I think you underestimate the Online Crowd. There is enough people now who don't play Offline Modes anymore.

So no Offline modes doesn't necessary means the game would die.

For a pure Online Game though they have to have way more competitions and different events and modes. Fifa is way ahead in that with their Friendlies with different competitions, Squad Battles and so on.

Personally I am more interested in Offline Modes and a Master League and if they don't deliver a good one in the future I will probably stop playing but that doesn't mean the game would die, it just wouldn't attract me as a player.

You can also not forget about the emerging markets in Asia and other Continents that are way more open to Free2Play with Internet becoming better and more accessible. The Indian market alone is getting very huge for Free2Play , Indonesian market is growing and many more. So as much as many might think that Offline is a necessary for them to survive, the cold truth is: it is not. I do hope they will give us good Offline modes since I am not interested in pure Online Gaming but predicting the game to die if they don't, is not necessarily the reality.
Actually, you're not wrong on this. Online gaming is here to stay, but there are niches within this genre that companies like Coinami are trying to capitalize on. We have the PC/console side of this genre and then we have smartphones. Coinami have their tentacles on both ends with smartphone users being their go to source of revenue. Most of the changes made to the IP were done to placate this crowd that brings in tons of revenue for Coinami via microtransactions. Things like the simplistic tactical overlay right on down to the UI and AI. I heard the UI for efootball somewhat resembles PES mobile. That's a possibility.

Then you have the online only crowd from whichever platform they are on that Coinami placates to. They don't have to spend as much as those who use mobile but they still have a presence online and have clout due to esports becoming a thing with PES/Efootball. The problem is Coinami are doing this at the expense of their hardcore base who aren't mobile gamers or those who play strictly online. Legacy fans who have kept this franchise afloat for so many years are being left behind.

For some guys here in the forum dribbling is everything but reactions and slow movements does not mind at all

"Prepared to be annoyed"
don't answer for others people
How about just respecting that someone sees it different than you?

You want your opinion to respected so maybe respect his also?

Shouldn't be too hard
and i don't want my opinion to be respected but konami respect a big portion off sim soccer players that played single match vsAI offline.
konami never had specific aspects of the game its year well worked and either this year has .
this game as every game every's company has the pos and neg. nothing more nothing else
to say that is the best soccer game ever....mate that is definitely a study case

People saying there's is no handicapping online (dreamteam) is clearly lying or just deluded. As much as i like the gameplay, the handicapping is just ruining it for me. One prime example, much like fifa, is when you defenders are perfectly positioned for interception and they get megged easily, right infront and inside the box, leading to goals, or ball deflecting back to opp even after a successful interception. Ball outright go between your players leg, especially when you can tell the game is shifting momentum. Its not yet on fifa's level, but its still there.

Why are things like nutmegs or deflected blocked balls evidence of anything other than what they've designed being annoying and shit?

They even advertise the new sharp touch (right trigger held down then released) as creating nutmegs easily. Balls have been bouncing off players and back into possession for years, and it's been annoying for years.

It baffles me that people think this stuff is evidence that just accrues in supporting the idea (which is already an unshakeable conviction) that the game is handicapping you.

It's simpler to see this as just bad design principles (nutmegs are cool, let's make them easy!) or badly implemented ball physics (balls bouncing off players back into possession).

Played France Tour a bit. All the matches felt different from each other against the AI, saw some nice variations in Defending and Attacking, Nice felt totally different then Bordeaux for example. Really makes me wish that sooner than later they have some nice Offline Modes, be it Cups, Leagues or even Master League. Definitely makes it harder to go back to Master League in PES 2021 on console and playing against AI there.

There is so much potential there for a nice football game offline and I imagine a Master League really would be fun, I would probably start one in USL. Hopefully we see one this year, the improvements on AI would be a waste just for Tour Events.

I hope you're wrong and he's right 😁

Why is it a problem if some like the game and see a potential? People like different things. I still think it's konami's fault for having a game in barebones state (At least from an offline standpoint). You all need content and need to get busy lol. Thing is I never seen a PES game broadly liked on the forum though :))

I don't agree with those who take advantage in a not legitimate way and play with the mod on PC violating the rules without having paid a penny
Wait. I'd be more than willing to pay for a good Master League DLC when (or should I say "if" instead?) it gets released...
Right now, though, what am I supposed to pay for?
Teams are already there, different difficulty levels are already there, matches in Drealm Team mode are longer... Having them available in "quick match" mode would help us do a more "informed" choice (about whether to puchase or not) should they release the ML DLC.
...or is this what they are worried about? Us being able to make a choice based on evidence and not on pure marketing?

I want a few quick games of pro evo and that just isn't possible at the moment.

No offline modes and I'd love someone to time how long it takes to boot the game up and get into an online game. Menu after menu and the spinning 'e'. With the power of the ps5 we should be booting up, selecting teams and playing. It is so much effort just to play one damn game!

If ur defenders feel weak then probably they are much lower rated or the form arrows are killing ur team.
NEVER seen 57 rated off form opponents boss my 85 rated top form players. I only lose and win whenever i should indeed. So thats not momentum or scripting that often happened offline in previous pes games even during pvp.

The answer is simple, you should not be punished for positioning your defenders for an interception. People should be punished for constantly rushing their defenders out, not holding the line and cutting passing lanes.

eFootball 2022 with the latest patch is the best online konami football game ever released. first time ever you can play game after game finding matches in the states with full bar signal and no lag all day long. in fifa you can't even do this. this is a better online 1 v 1 experience than what FIFA has to offer and it's totally free. I can't believe Konami has finally stepped up their online infrastructure up. they might have actually made the correct smart decision going this direction. for the first time in their history .. konami actually have a great online footie game that is enjoyable lag free and addicting to play

dream team > FUT imo

by the way when eFootball first released I deleted it the same day I downloaded and played it. it was that bad. this time it's much different.. I'm hooked and loving dream team at the moment. the addicting gameplay reminds me of times I use to stay up all night at friends house playing PES 5 or PE6. this is first footie game since those times that give that experience again

I will say for those who are only use to play PES offline only.. you might want to give the latest eFootball a try again and you can enjoy playing Dream team against AI and other humans and might surprise you how great that experience is compared to what your use to in offline only.

here are some videos of my dream starting in D 10 to D 5 promotion sat night.. this is on PS4. I hear this game is even better on PS5 but i'm loving it on PS4 so can't wait to play on PS5 although I hear I think I have to start my dream team over on that which stinks

if you are fed up with quarrels I am sure that you shall find someone with your level to satiate your pettiness.
as much as I can fight a monkey that does not solve equations so much can I fight with you that you do not understand how some things evolve.

I don't disagree with anything you say there.

(Though in the case of nutmegs we might make exceptions according to how the defender's defensive stats match up with the attacking/skill stats of the attacker; nutmegs shouldn't be impossible, but nor should they be commands that work most of the time regardless of the players involved.)

The worst thing now is the introduction of match up – in itself not bad, but if you don't press and hold it when covering a lane, you have an unrealistically bad chance of blocking the ball and gaining possession.
