eFootball (All Platforms)

I fear pes 21 will be last modded pes game
PES 21 will be the new PES 6, We'll still be modding and updating this game. To the latest season 15 years from now as we are with PES 6.

They're still finding new ways to mod both games and modify game files. PES 6 we've finally found a way to add player tattoos and PES 21 we've finally figured out how to customise the net physics.

Who knows what the community will add next, but whatever it is, it's more than what Konami are doing for their vanilla games.

PES6 in terms of modding popularity but not in gaming experience unfortunately. Would have been nice to have such a new age game with a proper offline AI, like efootball has. Ironically.

Well, I do think that Asim back in the day made sure to keep relationships with FIFA streamers. There used to be a common thing where a FIFA streamer would make a big deal out of PES for a bit. I always presumed it was a paid relationship. It makes sense, a decent way to expand their reach.

Ha, except they haven't actually reached any goal of value when you consider player counts:
And it turns out, that may not be the half of it:

So, if that's true, you have a situation where Konami likely pay big FIFA streamers to try out the game (or they try out of curiosity, unpaid); then PESEP and PES Universe both take snapshots of the massively inflated Twitch viewer counts relative to FIFA; then they both share those screenshots and Adam replies to round it off as though the game has reached where it needed to be, finally.

This is all an exercise in PR/optics, and PESEP and PES Universe are unwitting PR tools of Konami in the process.

___

Classic konami if true.
Or simply classic scum of the earth player base, which would use any kind of cheating method available?

If that's the true rationale behind this warning, than so be it - ban them all.

You realize of course that English is not my native language so the idioms of English language are not familiar to me…
I wonder if in your original language, the sentence is meant to mean something like:

"It's my opinion, and only mine"

the funny thing with "...and I am master of it" is that it sounds like you have, over years, perfected the art of good judgement, so that your opinions are not just mere preferences but well-tuned assessments of reality :)

Even if €shameball have the best gameplay in history which I think they have not, Would you be playing for a long time with fake players in konami stadium every time? Even if PES 21 has not the best gameplay untill now, you can play a fantastic football game in overall with all mods included. I have to be honest and if is not by all mods this game would be buried long time ago

No in my language mean something like I am the owner I am proud of it and ready to accept the consincues from it

Can we please leave topics and sayings like "Honor" out of this. I find these personal attacks towards Kimura quite disturbing to say the least.

In the end it's a game. If you don't like it play an older version of PES, but attacking a person behind the game who in the end is doing his job (now you can argue if it is a good or bad one) and also answering to board members etc (who might demand different things from him than players) and is giving a very conservative interview so to not promise something they might not be able to deliver, is out of line.
I've not kept abreast of this back and forth so can't really assess how out of line the comments about Kimura are, but I will quickly say:

The man has given several interviews, particularly in build-up to release last year. And they were some of the most tortuous things to read, where he quite plainly laid out his views that playing vs the CPU is boring, that 1v1 focus is his aim, that this is actually the essence of football, and that gacha elements will be in eFootball.

So there's stuff to be pretty off about there. At the very least, he gives the impression he is the main agitator for a change of direction in Konami – e.g., he said it was he who pushed for cross-play (with mobiles too).

It is the best gameplay the efootball series ever offered!! 😉

Still no reason to attack him. Might be his views and vision of the game. Still isn't disrespectful if this is his vision. Just means he has a different idea of what he wants a football game to be.

If this is not the vision you want as a player there is a simple solution: don't play or invest in this vision. Or even talk about how you think it is the wrong Vision through feedback etc.

But name calling, attacking someone's honor etc. in my opinion never solved or changed anything.

You can be frustrated and disappointed but in the end Kimura didn't disrespect anyone or attacked them. All he does is have a different idea of what he wants a football game to be. Now the idea can be a horrible idea and if it fails might cost him his job. But in the end it is still just an idea and vision and not an insult or anything.

Absolutely mate, and with the ease of using sider for multiple patches there's no doubt that the game will last for years. Also if people somehow find ways to cut down the game size for patches and make each patch a standalone game (like pes 6), then the possibility is endless.

No 1vs1 isn’t the main target cause soccer is at is . It’s the simplest way to make a soccer game cause you are unable to create a good AI so you want the PvP to replicate it.

I think this rests on a false idea about what's going on in businesses and what businesses do to people in reality. By actively promoting gambling elements in a game that sells to children, and by expanding its reach ever more with cross-play to mobile, by pandering to what a particular kind of hyper-competitive player wants so that those players continue to pump more money into the games: these are dishonourable things to do.

They aren't mere thoughts and preferences floating around in the realm of ideas: they have material consequences. For one thing, they exploit compulsive spenders and those with gambling problems; for another, they degrade the artform. Would you be as standoffish about personal criticisms of the CEOs of gambling companies?

We have a different view at the meaning “offend”. Perhaps you don’t ever take part in communication between “community and Konami “ as a tool from Konami to make a game . So because is difficult to understand cause is forbidden to me to say what “was discussed in those communications” we should leave the issue here and kept the it’s other opinion for that person for us .

Do you really believe that a soccer sim is gamble game or I understand something wrong here?

Having worked in the free2play mobile industry for a couple of years: that compulsive spenders are exploited is one of the false myths in this industry.

Yes there are companies who are black sheep in the industry

But most companies watch out for excessive spending behaviours and if they happen reach out to these players and also help them stop compulsive behaviours. Regarding kids: most Free2Play companies actually pay back credit card bills etc if there was excessive spending by a kid if you contact their consumer service. Sadly these things are never reported so that an opinion about Free2Play has formed that is far away from the truth.

What you get to read are the click bait articles how bad children and compulsive spenders are abused since this sells views. The truth that most companies prevent this and are actually very careful about how.players spend is sadly nearly never mentioned.

Also for most companies gameplay still comes first. It's also logical you need players to stay loyal for years (some of these games exist for over 9 years). You can't maintain a loyal player base if you take advantage of compulsive behaviours or kids: because these players would leave for good.

Pressing X to doubt on a LOT of that, frankly.

The mobile F2P industry in particular relies on psychological research that aims at exploiting tendencies in players. It's laid out black and white in this talk, nicely titled "let's go whaling":

The idea that "most companies" in this space have the social conscience you allude to is surely a fiction; it's the basic revenue generation model they have to get people to spend a lot of money.

Regarding kids: why do EA and others continue to market their games to children, or refuse to put higher minimum age ratings on their games? Kids get sucked into these games and introduced to gambling elements, and it's a travesty.

The truth that most companies prevent this and are actually very careful about how.players spend is sadly nearly never mentioned.
I'm sorry but this line in particular sounds like industry PR, which – given your former position – isn't so far from the truth. A large part of the F2P gamespace has made gaming qualitatively worse and encouraged compulsive spending and gambling problems in vulnerable people and in the young. It has rendered inaccessible entire gaming platforms now to those who know they can't touch half the games because they will exploit those weaknesses in them. It's scummy as fuck.

Of course you can doubt it it's your choice. I have my experiences I speak from and can tell you from my side that it's not true. If you don't want to believe that that is okay for me.
Doesn't change my own experiences and what I have seen in this industry.

The message regarding modding the PC can lead to a ban leaves a bad, bad taste in my mouth, although i think as someone mentioned its realted to people wanting to cheat and get more points to level up than they should have.

All in all, Konami when will we actually get offline content?

When will edit mode every release?

I don't think just online will keep me on this game for the next few months or so. Some more communication will help.

If this turns out to be true, then it just proves how less of a shit they really give about offline content.

Ideally they would have made it in such a way that, one could mod the game offline and as long as he/she didn't cheat online or tamper with online matches, they would be fine.

This also kills any confidence I had for a possible future offline mode updates.

Well @janguv you're right, there's type of marketing and that one is particular, it's looks like a trap... But it's still marketing. There's others tricks on marketing less obvious but as much subliminal we don't even imagine. I saw most of the traps and the redirecting, the worst is on Hospital.

Without entering in details, i was going to the hospital for on emergency for one thing, the doc who received me start talking about psychiatric stuff, and she betrayed herself when she said "but after they won't never get work " she didn't even said patients... So i understood she wanted to redirect me to a psychiatrist friend because i was blocked for, you know i won't enter in details.

Medical business is still the worst to me, with coaching business for people in distress. I don't talk about people who need to go to a psychiatrist or a psycho-therapist, neurologist because they got a real problem no. But about suggesting a problem and create one.

Sorry for the O.T., but back to F2P, the "Free" part may create an addiction. Didn't already checked your vid but i suppose they suggest that.

The worst is like in your vids, makes believing that your kid got an issue, even if he just fail in a simple trap. I still talk about medical but let's say that every kid with a certain interest on games would fall in.
And as it's a kid and fear the adult, don't know what to answer and parents can't oppose neither. Some have real problems i don't say the opposite...

Okay, we'll just take your word for it then – that mobile F2P games aren't exploitative by design, that vulnerable people don't get sucked in by them, that the revenue-generation model doesn't actively require a percentage of their playerbase to get so sucked in, and that game quality itself hasn't suffered through implementing these manipulation strategies at the level of game design.

Never mind the testimony or anecdote of many who have stories to tell about how they or ones they're close to were sucked into these games and lost so much of their financial and social life to them. Never mind the industry spokespeople who quite openly talk about the strategies they implement to exploit people. Never mind the massively inflated revenue charts since the introduction of in-game spending mechanics; or the explosion of the mobile F2P sector. Never mind the occasional bad headline in mainstream or gaming press (because they're just out to get the games publishers, you know how critical and cynical the gaming press famously is, rather than being an important industry apologist!).

And don't, of course, take into consideration that many of us have played these games, at the mobile and console level, and recognise the game design changes from games prior to MTX-as-standard; that we see how games have become grindier, geared towards selling us MTX to alleviate the intentionally gruelling challenges; that the cosmetics being sold to us create a sense of FOMO deep within us; that the lootboxes aren't literal fucking gambling.

Never mind any of this, because you, as someone who has worked in a company that creates mobile F2P games, have your own experience. And companies are not that bad actually. It's not late-stage capitalism wringing cash from us at every turn, intruding into activities that formerly were somewhat insulated from their predatory, grubby hands. No. It's actually just fair-minded, socially conscious enterprising groups who want to offer us a good thing for free and only charge us what we must or choose (without any form of coercion) to purchase.

Okay.

Not going to engage further. I have my experience that builds my opinion. You have your opinion. I won't change yours no matter which examples I bring from my own work experience etc. (Even if I tell you that I never designed with any exploits in mind etc you wouldn't believe me since like you phrased it you think it's industry PR).

All I will say is you see your side of the coin, I see mine and probably as in most cases neither you nor I are completely right and the truth lies in the middle. Let's leave it at that.

This is the postmodernism of football gaming. See it all the time with the likes of PES Universe. "Everyone just has a different opinion, and that's okay."

It's as though there's not a material reality in question at all. That people don't actually suffer because of this industry. Well: it's not a matter of opinion – they do. And it's worth criticising.

I'll agree not to engage further; that's partly because in your strange centrism and overly subjectivist view on all this, there's not much to engage with. We could both be right or maybe it's a pick and mix! Truth be damned, it's not that important anyway.

Now go spend some eFootball coins.

You can critisize of course. But here lies the problem why further discussion makes no sense: I told you my experience and you immediately called it PR.

You didn't even consider that maybe yes I really have experienced the things I talked about. That I have seen how companies contacted players when there was a feeling someone is overspending or not in control of their spend. Or that credit card payments have been paid back when a child got hold of their parents card.

Maybe I have seen enough companies in my career that actually cared and have experienced games where players in general spend less than I do for buying games each month.

As long as you don't consider there is some truth in what I am saying there is basically no ground for discussion.

Especially since I fully admit there is bad apples who target what they call whales and so on.

But there is enough companies who realised it is better to have players long term who are not abused by a game but feel respected and Free2Play done right is not a bad thing.

And that's why we leave it at that because we are both biased in one direction so to speak. You called me overly subjective but are doing the same by not even trying to see my view.
