eFootball (All Platforms)

Think I have to try and wean myself off it now. The lagginess is just unbearable, infuriating, unbelievable for a game released in 2022. I swear what people call "scripting" is the game interpreting attributes, making your players even more useless than the standard online lag makes them by default (in order to make a poorer player lose possession more often etc.).

I've just played a game against someone with a squad 300 points better than mine, and twice the ball fell to my striker in a glorious position, only for him to take a touch, put his foot on the ball and stumble backwards as the keeper charged at him. It's now at that special FUT level of "I'm going to smash my controller against this wall" for me, when it wasn't at the start.

When's v1.1 arrive... (And will the gameplay actually change next time, or will they consider this good enough.)

Exactly this. Plus many simply have a predisposition to conspiratorial thinking, while a group consensus can also be very powerful.

Anyway, on the subject of lag. I'm really not having any! I'm stumped on whether the quality of the internet performance is relatively consistent for all and people are just sensitive to different levels, or whether there's a really serious difference of internet performance here that unfortunately some are experiencing while others aren't. For whatever reason.

I've always thought the explanation was the game just sucks and naturally we remember when we punished by poorly implemented mechanics than when we benefit from them

Tried touching this game for 25 minutes and just realized I'm completely wasting my time lol.

Yeah I'm never coming back to this again unless something huge happens... .I haven't touched PES 2021 in MONTHS, and I've recently decided to do a Manual Passing Club Brugge Master League.. I also recently liked the Midfield and challenging-feel of FIFA 17 , so I think I won't be bored for a while.. Also looking at FIFA 14 for the Xbox One so I think I've got my football fix for some time

Did you realise Matt that PA1 in efootball is the most assisted? They've switched them around for some reason. PA3 is the new equivalent of 1(semi assisted) & PA4 is manual 👍.
Oh I didn't know that. It definitely feels that way now that you mention it. I remember passes going to weird destinations lol. Thanks for letting me know. I think I will give FUMA a go as well.

Btw, I needed to build my team - and didn't budget greatly. However, I'm really enjoying my team:

Do it! Though be aware that the target locking on this game is atrocious.

Alternatively, if you want to breathe a new lease of life into 2021, play a FUMA season/cup on that. It's really a breath of fresh air once you get the hang of it. I've been FUMA 2-3 years now, maybe more, and I really can't stomach of the thought of anything else these days. It's also the only way I stayed same playing (more or less) the same PES game for so long.

The server experience can vary wildly. But there is no scripting or dda. Every time I watch any streamer saying it's scripting it's them tilting hard and playing much worse. Doing obvious passes to players that are covered for seconds already. Or shooting from stupid positions. Best are the players who even show their controller and you can see they are doing the wrong inputs. So, yes, servers having issues and causing input lag is a thing. Players not scoring and missing passes because you are 2:1 in front, is not a thing.

More important. How do u get purple bg instead ikea colors?

I signed a 14k coach (Bilic) and it did f*ckall to my player stats, they are still low across the board. For example, Firmino has something like 86 on his card but 68 on the pitch.

I've noticed in my PES 2021 fling that the target locking is far better. So significant regression in that quite important respect.

The dalliance is over, though. The monotonous AI gets old, fast. And I was reintroduced to the ludicrous affect Team Spirit has on your players in Master League. And that it makes my PS4 sound a pneumatic drill boring (fittingly) a hole in my head.

Today I also fired up my WE8LE Master League for an acute reminder that football games made after 2006 are generally redundant for me.

Are your all players trained up to have the 'Possession game' proficiency? Your players plays style & overall rating will drop if they don't suit the manager. You have to spend progression points to raise their level to suit possession game.

Guys is the real Player ID present, or just some movements? What do you think?

It depends on what do you consider it, player ID for the cpu? Because that is present, players play finally according to their playstyle, eg. dribbler, playmaker etc.
Or that the combination of the stats matter? Because they do, Adama Traore cant do anything but bursting away from defenders, he doesnt really fit in my tiki taka style of play to be fair as he cant trap and pass the ball around either...and his finishing ouf.

@Isslander just bought Julian Alvarez from river plate, another deep lying striker, as a sub for Firmino. He is 41K, funnily because he is shorter and because of his stats he is a bit different player despite the same play style. He does more quick runs from deep compared to Firmino who rather sits in the SS position. This game actually is very interesting, im feeling like playing PS2 PES ML, discovering players and their styles. But for sure he fits more in the team than Adama as he is much more comfortable on the ball and scored on his first game already, so surely i see a future for him in our team even if he would be a winger in the end( he can play right winger too).

Ex 5th league German Defender checking in.
Win Streak now broken after 80+ matches and after 90 matches with a total of 8 goals against me.

Real life defending is working and I love it. My aim is not to score, my aim is to not let you shoot on my goal at all.

Here is another beginner tipp how to move your defending to the next level:

  • Don't break your last defending line (CBs, LV, RV). Don't press / ai press with them. Don't move them out of position. Your conceded shots will decrease significantly.

Tune in next time for more advanced defending tricks that work in RL and eFootball!

I have been playing on Legend ever since i unlocked it. Yes Real is lethal but i think its kinda fair in general compared to previous games? I still can feel the difference between small and big teams.

I played vs Rayo Vallecano and surprised how easily i won 4-1. Superstar felt harder and made me think that they not worked on Legend enough.

They pressured me a little too much and overshot it leaving me more space than i expected.

- no content
- no mods
- basic graphics even on next gen
- shooting could use more variation and error
- keepers are still bit floaty and awkward
- there are still some skating animations
+ best AI in a football game
+ best balanced attacking-defending gameplay mechanics in a football game
+ best player inertia in a football game
+ best dribbling in a football game
+ bunch of new lovely animation
+ online connection is pretty solid
+ you can play vs ai in Dream Team( MyClub)

Sums it up quite well. Early days but its like when you played FIFA 09 at the beginning, ISS Pro Evolution. There's new things which blow everything else that came before it away but its still rough and needs work.

Online for me is 65% great 25% atrocious and 10% promising in that you can have horrible lag in some games then it clears up into a good match.

Overall I like the gameplay. It feels more natural and less mechanical, like having flow of it`s own. I know many won`t be on the same page but I find shooting very good! The timing, the ball trajectory, body position, all affect how shot was produced. Had many occasions when I jump of the char after shooting and hitting crossbar or hit loose ball and it end in the goal.
Konami should work on awareness of the player especially on the defence. But overall I find this 1.0 version as a step in right direction in terms of gameplay. I can`t speak about online and micro transactions becouse I never play online but playing ML even with this version is good for me, I find it much better than the other game.

Legend AI scales with the player attributes better. Had Auba dribble my backline of 5 with Puyol, Maldini and Featured Upamecano two times, getting two penalties.

Online still has to dependant on location. In Europe i can find solid connections easily for example.

As for superstar it wouldnt be the first time Konami does this. I havent played much on that just a few in Authentic then i unlocked Legend in DT then stuck with it. Might try SS later, thanks for the heads up. I would like to have less clinical but smarter AI still if that makes sense.

In DT, the A.I opponents often have low playstyle value especially the weaker clubs.
