About KONAMI and all this fuss about different version etc...
C'mon guys! Its just company, not a shady evil villain who wants to play mental games with us just to be entertained.
One general thing: Memory and past is just impressions and feelings of certain facts that we experienced.
Spoony and the french youtuber may think that they played a different version, due to the excitement of the mood they had at playtest time.
There is no reasonable reason KONAMI released a worst and more unpolished version than Spoony played.
Remember youtubers want their channel rolling and have views.

To be fair, I don't remember a single person reviewing the early preview who mentioned the numerous clipping and physics issues, disappearing refs, etc.
Did the Network Test have these?

Having said that, I find it extremely hard to believe that all the problems in the released build (which we all have been assuming was cut in July?) could've been fixed in a couple of months.
There's just a ton of issues.

(But I'd be happy to be proven wrong)

Everyone who was invited to the Windsor event stated explicitly that they played a different build.

Unless the accusation is that they were all lying, which to me is into flat earth/fake moon landing territory.

Read nextgenbase preview of the event… it’s all there.

Just booted up the PS5 version and this looks a lot better than my PC (On a RTX 3080 lol).

PC version getting shafted (again) barely got any attention because of how much of a shitshow this has been lol
Damn if pc port turns out to be inferior to next gen consoles, then I might as well just delete it.

Sorry might be a false alarm mate. I don't think my game on PC is outputting at 4k

Edit: Yeah I think it's broken. No idea how to get this thing to run at 4k

I doubt Spoony Pizzas credibility.

He states that he played a completely different version one week before.
Okay, here is what I think.
He played the same code as the official release, he kinda liked it, but because he saw that the reception of the community is really negative after the release, he used the "different version" trick just to go with the flow and keep his reputation and his channel rolling, to avoid booing.

I remember there was a dispute about him a couple of weeks ago, right?
pretty much everyone who tested it then said that was a different build, with sharp kick etc.

Which is all well and good.
This kind of attitude will just give people here false hope that they’ll actually make it better or good enough to play, when given Konami’s recent track record we know this won’t be the case.

Sorry but Spoony’s a reputable guy. I read the previews a few weeks ago and there were others who said the Windsor build was a decent build but had flaws.

I have expressed my doubts regarding the credibility of content creators in the past but on this occasion the impressions are pretty much universal. I also think you and a few others are giving konami far more credit than they deserve. It appears that you're letting your loyalty cloud your judgment.

Do you still doubt that a next generation version was in the works and was eventually canceled?

You still have doubts. Must you see official sources to believe you?

The true version of the ninth generation was under construction. Incidentally, the development of this version continued until 6 months ago. And was canceled for various reasons. Many of the ninth generation developers are no longer on the eFootball development team.

Have you forgotten what Mr. Hosoda, the producer of the PES series, said? And the words of the play director Masuda? And so are Lennart Bobzien!?

Have you not seen the dismissal of many employees and the changes in Konami?

It is clear that until 6 months ago, the ninth generation version was in development. But all of a sudden, the real version of the ninth generation was canceled for various reasons. Seitaro Kimura came and implemented his plan.

Hosoda spoke six months ago :

Read Hosoda words carefully, you will notice that their publishing policies have not changed until then. As always, they wanted to release a free version of the game in PES Lite.

And what does vague Russian site mean?

The interview was conducted directly with Masuda, and Masuda had made it clear that the new graphics engine would only be seen on ninth-generation consoles. And eighth-generation consoles with Fox engines will continue to operate. You even use this obvious interview as an excuse to be mistranslated and other excuses!

The ninth generation version was under construction for three years. In short, due to the corona, high production costs and Konami's greed and many other issues, it was eventually canceled.

Was this Konami the first time he had done this? They are masters at destroying their own big IPs.

There are many other interviews and explanations that I can put here to let you know that the real generation version of the ninth generation was in use. This eFootball is very flawed because it has only been developed for 6 months.

The mobile version, developed with the code Unreal 4, adds new features to it, and due to the cross-platform, the game has become a disaster that we all see.
I find it pretty hard to discern what you're trying to say here. Your argument is all over the shop.

For one thing, the Hosoda quote (translated? from which source? it's good to link such things) sounds like further evidence of a settled and longer term plan to consolidate mobile and console/PC, not a sudden shift as some (including you) are asserting.

As for the Masuda point – I've already addressed that. I think it's from too early a period, there are potential translation issues, and it's one remark = not a good evidence base for the hypothesis there was a "true" next-gen version planned/executed which subsequently got canned.

This is just desperate guesswork when we don't really have a clue. I understand why you and others feel the need to do it; it's about making intelligible what otherwise feels like a senseless and painful rejection. But in truth you can make good sense of it by considering the fact that Konami has not acted in the interests of its hardcore fans for some years now; it had abandoned all its successful IP; and it has been pursuing all the worst industry avenues: predatory MTX, mobile games, FOMO marketing, live service buggy crap, etc.

Which is all well and good.
This kind of attitude will just give people here false hope that they’ll actually make it better or good enough to play, when given Konami’s recent track record we know this won’t be the case.

If people still have that hope, now, after said track record then more fool them!

If Konami's actions don't speak louder than the words of punters on a forum, they'll never listen.

Maybe it is the biggest con in gaming history happening right now. Konami said to EA, hey we will bring out some shitty game so the customers buy the €80 version of your game to have true next GEN. And then we release our beast in November and they pay another 40 bucks to have it all. ;)

Adam also deleted today my comment from yesterday. I just posted is earlier tweet where he says the product will do the talk, with a meme of John Travolta with is coat trying to find 🤣🤣🤣.

I guess we will not have a reaction from him or anyone inside Konami, just to try and explain where are the wonderful magic code, build that every single year is there on the road to the launch of a new game.

There is no magic hidden build but they did play a different version of the game to the one released to the public.

It had the sharp kicks & L2 press was not present. Whether or not it was better or worse is anyone's guess but it's certainly clear they were shown & then played something slightly different to what we have.

yeah sure they did

just like last year when spoonfeedMe liezzas played the 21 and made a hype video lying that it played just like the 20 demo

and i went and bought that shit

I'd have paid good money for a PES 2020 "demo-like experience".

I remember playing the full version for the first time.
