eFootball (All Platforms)

This isn't a fair comment. His live stream was 100% anti eFootball and it's the first time I heard him swear so much about how terrible the game is. I get the impression people want to hate for the sake of hating. I've not seen many positive comments from any of the YouTubers for this game. Plus, Konami have a track record of releasing really old and terrible builds. Remember when Trabelsi was at Arsenal in a shipped disc copy of the game!?

It's total trash and I hope Konami get the message. Unfortunately I think there's a silent majority that won't say anything but will look good for Konami because of x number of downloads.
I'm watching it right now and I agree with him. There is no sense of cohesive football, its just a struggle to try get the AI to comply with your inputs. Its shocking

oh god no lol. The movement and running animations of fifa22 are enough to put me off and prevent a download. Yes, its better than eFootball.. but doesnt mean ill play it!!
Id be more inclined to say thank god for previous releases.. at least we can go back and play our favourite PES of the past.
Fingers crossed for UFL!!!

Is it fair that anyone who doubted this shambles of a "game", was apparently banned from his channel?

People who weren't deluded got called out & banned for being right?

Cmon, you all don't seem to know how japanese developers work.
Even in F1, when Honda decided to build thier own motor, Mclaren denied it after a year of terrible results but now they've got a motor equal to Mercedes. And Honda didn't care. They had their vision and ignored everyone critics...
So, Konami don't care at all about people saying this thing is half done, they have their path and, hopefully, they'll continue along it until game is good.

It boggles my mind how Konami have never considered taking help from the HUGE plethora of talented modders that took PES 2021 to the next level.

Watching eFootball gameplay, there is no sign of intelligence from any of the players. Off the ball movement is very pre-FIFA 22-esque, as in its very static. I still dont know why Konami havent made the short ground passes zippier, thats the one thing I feel FIFA gets right when put on slower speeds.

Honestly I could go on and on...
it would mess with the developers ego.

"an unpaid modder doing a better job with a better eye for details than me????"

it has been clear as day who does work for just a paycheck and the one who does it out of pure passion.

Problem is I dont believe this game even have developers ...

Maybe there are some juniors and college kids given task copy/paste mobile game to PS4/PS5/PC .... that's it.

Why would it need real developers, idiots are buying cards from them in exchange for real money ... you just need few good people with Photoshop for development.

Rest of money (99,9999999%) goes to investors, CEO, marketing experts and Neymar tweet.

been about 12 years now..

Okay, let's get to some positives about the graphics:

Clothes:
+The cloth physics does look better than FIFA.

Now to the negatives:

-The cloth physics still doesn't look as impressive as FIFA 14 [next gen] and PES 14.
-Aesthetically FIFA 07, 08 [Next gen] has better fake cloth physics.
-The cloth wrinkle normal maps look better on FIFA, PES 18's wrinkle normal maps look better.
-Overall design and size of the kits look like ass.

Grass:
+3D Grass visible even during gameplay camera
+3D Grass texture is decent

-Flat grass texture looks like ass.
-Unlike PES 21, the 3D grass during gameplay seems to suffer from huge ass aliasing.

LOD:
-Ass

Lighting:
+Looks nice under direct sunlight

-Looks like shit on shadowed areas in day matches and on night matches [especially on post sunset matches]

Post process effects:
-Horrible and overdone sharpening filter that makes everything look aliased.

Framerate:
-Cutscene is dropping straight to 30 FPS here, goal celebrations, match intro etc. I don't know if its due to double buffered vsync or the fps is actually capped to 30.

Hate 30 fps cutscenes, especially on sports game where real life camera closeups are always on 50/60 fps. Not to mention FIFA games on ps2 had uncapped framerates.

As for gameplay, I'll have to play more and come to a definite conclusion. Even though moving the players feel a bit more responsive than PES 21, it still feels sluggish and unresponsive compared to 06 and 13. Even FIFA 08 [next gen] seems to have more decent balance on player movement response.

Ummm… something wrong surely happened during development, impossible to spend 2 years to get this result.

Yes, I played it on PS5 and my god, how can this be called next-gen?

In this alpha state, even freaking WE6FE on GameCube is better than this, a 19 year old game.

It’s infuriating because I see good things in this build (game tempo for example), but how can Konami decide to release this unfinished game? First impressions mean everything today.

PD: PS4, holy shit, it’s horrible to look at. It looks like PES 2077…

I think I like it. Despite all its flaws, which let's face it are too many to mention.

But, I like the weight, the game shape, the running animations, especially off the ball where the leaning and changing direction animations are the best ive seen in a game. I like that you can bully forwards with someone like Chiellini.

And now I've managed to started building good attacks with juve. The game does feel wild, unfinished, wayward, but there is a sense of (limited) freedom. The only game I can tolerate these days is fifa 16 vanilla (pes 20 vanilla had a few golden weeks) but I kind of like this. It reminds me in some ways of the leaked pes 14 demo.

The graphics even look okay in the efootball and Allianz arena stadiums, summer, night.

If they fixed all the bugs, then tightened the responsiveness, made the ball physics more 'pingy' and less spongy, it could be a decent (free) ps4 game (it's not a next gen game and probably never will be).
