eFootball (All Platforms)

Do want to be too pessimistic about this one.WE productions haven’t suddenly lost there craft overnight or the ability to deliver something representive of the real game.

My expectations aren’t to lofted but I’m not at the stage quite yet where I’m of the believe core digital footballing values forged over 20 plus years.Have been ditched in favour simple mass market mechanics and overly simplified gameplay.

Currently having a absolute blast with fifa22 but overall it still leaves me with a feeling that Pes21 still does certain things alot better, but hey that’s another story for another thread and a more in depth subjective discussion.

Going to take efootball22 out for a run this Thursday on the Xbox series X.Have the room in my life for two football games and overtime, who knows, this could potentially grow into something quite fresh. The wheel certainly needs a little reinvention.

PES 2021 is boring as hell after a few games though. If that’s the best Konami can come up with in the modern era then they’re doomed.

Fall a little/lot into the theKnights way of thinking when it comes to my overall opinion of Pes21.No need for me to de-rail this thread with what I and many others feel are it’s positives.(that’s been thoroughly documented and outlined in his videos). It’s a dead duck anyway now interms of evolution or a rolling project as we are days away from efootball22 and a supposed new era or ethos.

The reality is for me and many veterans on this forum. Is our history and are relationship with PES.Mine like many others goes back to the very beginning.

I can’t give up on that just yet.

In the end, whatever they're trying to do with this game/app doesn't matter and will flop (will not last long) with their "new crowd", taking in count some objective and logical arguments about their wrong plans/misdirection:

- eFootball release date - people will install the app on the 30th because it's free and they'll try few friendlies. Even if the actual hidden gameplay will be considered a gem, the new crowd (and even the old one) will not stick with it, because the next day on 1st October they'll play FIFA, and from that moment players will not think and go for a turn around later (will be mostly forgotten)...

- modes and features - nobody will stay almost 2 months playing friendlies and wait for those online modes to kick off (new crowd), and especially 6 months to pay for those offline modes in a F2P game. By that time knowing that eFootball is focused on live service will be mostly dead without having an active online userbase ("new crowd"). FIFA will have everything included from day one: offline/online, lootboxes for gamblers (you name it), customization for teams/stadiums, updates for their modes to keep everybody invested into it...

- in game presentation - though Konami are trying to include some improved cutscenes and some fluid transitions between plays, those will not save their game; it's still bland regarding its presentation comparing it to FIFA taking in count specific leagues flavours, licenses, dynamic commentaries, crowd atmosphere, graphics, UI etc. FIFA recreates that way better for every type of "crowd" because that feels like football (even if it not plays so much like football)...

- transparency - eFootball is a shy mystery even to this date, we don't have anything related to gameplay three days before "release", and that reeks from miles.
In this regard FIFA maintains the advantage, because they were more transparent, and we knew for about one month earlier how the gameplay will be. Ice skating like always, but (it's a big but) with one step in the right direction taking in count how users from other threads or forums are mentioning on how feels the gamepaly after playing the final product. Seeing something changing in a positive direction and being transparent about what's in the final package of the product, it's way better than what Konami did and continues to do like a boss...

Those facts alone are just making eFootball a joke in comparison with the competition, and will reflect some consequences that will make every type of crowd even less interested in their product than before (without taking in count those lies & false advertising or monetization issues, because that's another big and fat topic).

For most PC/console users on the 30th will be like, yeah sure let's give eFootball a try:

Friday night -----> free install while drinking some beers ----> testing few matches ----> mehhh ----> uninstall ----> remove from library... That's all folks !!!

Poor buggers. I played the free trial of FIFA22 and it is absolutely garbage IMO. The running motions and general animations are just so daft and unrealistic. Presentation wise it blows efootball away, but gameplay wise its total rubbish. Just my opinion

Could you imagine the shock if the game actually is decent?
I know better to know that this will most likely not be the case, but being a PES fan for so long, and frequenting these forums on a daily basis, there is always a piece of my younger self in me hoping....
Either way we are in for a treat. If the game sucks balls (which it probably will) i am going to grab myself some popcorn and a beer and F5 the hell-out-a evo-web. 🍿

If this game is anything better than 5/10 (even month after release) I am going to ask some serious questions to myself.

"The strength if the ball touch is free"
Thanks Konami I was afraid you would make me pay for the ball touch strength
But this comment from Konami does the opposite to me than it does for most others on here. You can see that in some of the small clips, Neymar as the ball comes to him, he dances around it as he does in real life after an initial deft touch. This is going to be stunningly organic.

I’m also an ‘old man’ and I’ve also been playing PES since ‘the beginning’.

I was like you, didn’t want to give up on the series. So I just play the old greats instead now. The new games, since around PES 2015, haven’t been good (except for 2017 which was loads of fun).

I can play PES 5 and still enjoy every second of it. But these new games are trash.

The latest tweet from their official twitter account is being absolutely savaged b a few gamers due to lack of transparency from them.

The replies to this tweet are damning. In the past you’d get people moaning about faces or not being able to unlock ‘limited edition bleach blonde Messi’ but in the whole it would be positive.

99.9% of the replies to that tweet are scathing. This game hasn’t got a chance, it has failed before it has even launched.

Jesus, they are being slaughtered there...
Ah well, what did they expect.
Then again - do they even care at this stage? I think Pes doors are closed now and they will be more than happy with umpteen million mobile players paypalling them few bob every day.
Im more than happy to step off the train now. If someone clearly doesnt want you and treat you like shit - you might as well read the room and move on.
