eFootball (All Platforms)

This should be the catchphrase of eFootball 2022. Like "the pitch is ours" in the past. This year must be:

"Let's wait until......"

Honestly, this is not personal to you, but since the New Football Online Beta Test, it must be more than 100 times that someone concluded with this phrase.

And the sad part is, we wait and in the end we eat shite! Pending for a" let's wait until.. " that will have a happy ending.
It's been the case for many years. We're always told to wait for the final build and it's always the same.

Interview with Robbye Ron, brand manager eFootball for Latin America

eFootball will mean a "tremendous" change with respect to PES: "It's a different game, people have been asking for it"

The announcement of eFootball and, with it, the end of the Pro Evolution Soccer saga ( Winning Eleven , in Japan) shook the video game industry and particularly hit the Peruvian community, perhaps one of the last bastions of the soccer saga in the world. world.

The new Konami franchise represents a resounding change with respect to previous installments ( Programer's friends have made a good summary about it ), since we are not only facing a new business model, but it seeks to establish its own rules at the playable level .

Will it be a welcome change for the community? Is eFootball here to stay? Will PES return eventually? This week I had the opportunity to talk with Robbye Ron, brand manager eFootball for Latin America, who responded to these and more questions in this extensive interview.

We already have the eFootball release date . What are the expectations for the start of this new saga?
Expectations are very good. The change is tremendous, but at the same time it is a change that people have been asking for. To do the evolution, we needed to do a hit like that. We needed a new engine and we got it with the Unreal Engine (4), which has facilitated this issue of being able to play on different platforms that we did not think to do.

Will it be a shocking change for those used to the gameplay of Pro Evolution Soccer ?
The user, who has already played it, is going to have that shock of the first days, of 'what is this? I don't get used to it. ' Literally, I had to stop, start to see how this was done, how the other was done, understand the tutorials. It is much more simulator, but that does not mean that the fun ends.

eFooball comes with nine teams at launch and just three game modes. Isn't it very little content?
It is a free-to-play game. If we compare it with PES 2021 , yes it is little (content). But it is another style of play. This is like a demo for us, for people to start learning. People need to begin to understand. It is a tremendous change and I think it is necessary to understand this version. When more content comes in, they'll be ready.

When will eFootball stop being a demo?
It is comparative to a demo, but it is not a demo. We have already shown the roadmap that this game has, and we will see that at the end of this fall (spring) we will have an update in which more teams will be added and you will be able to start creating your team from scratch, with new cards; start using eFootball coins .

With the launch of eFootball , is FIFA no longer your competition?
We are talking about being a platform, we do not even consider ourselves as a game in itself, an annual game. Our idea is to be the soccer ball. We want to be the platform and, therefore, we are available on all devices. The rival has its own strategies, I imagine, but we are more concerned with how to improve our platform, so that it is number one in sports users, especially virtual football.

Why not launch eFootball on Nintendo Switch?
We have seen that the Unreal Engine is helping us to make this multiplatform game, so a future possibility is much closer. But today is what we have, hopefully in the future we can have it.

So, the doors are not closed to the Switch.
The possibilities are never closed to anything.

It has already been announced that the Master League, one of the star modes of the extinct PES saga , will come to eFootball , but it will be paid content. Is it the only game mode that will be released?
We are going to have to see what all the modes that are going to come will be. There will be, of course, some (modes) free and others paid. That will be normal. The idea is to give the user something for everyone. If you don't want the french fries with the hamburger, then let them sell you the hamburger alone.

Will the clubs and teams we had in PES eventually appear on eFootball ?
They will eventually arrive in an update, of course. They will come in the future. Not such a distant future, so relax.

Will they arrive for free?
They will arrive free of charge.

Can you be sure that clubs or teams will not be sold for real money?
No, they are not going to be sold, of course not. Letters and other things, legends of each club, of course, can come in a campaign type. But the players that we already had as always in previous releases will come for free.

Will there be Edit Mode? Over the years an immense community of fans who edited PES was formed . Is there a chance to see any of that on eFootball ?
Yes, of course. The Edit Mode is maintained. What happens is that today it is not necessary, because only nine clubs come and all nine are licensed. When (the teams) are updated, the Edit Mode will also arrive.

Free?
Free.

Will the alliances with Peruvian clubs continue in eFootball ?
Of course, they will appear.

Is the Peruvian tournament license still being evaluated or has the idea of having it in eFootball been abandoned ?
It was not abandoned. The licensing team continues to work to maintain the licenses that exist, and why not add many more in the future. The team keeps working. Let's wait for news on the licensing issue. There are things that, due to this new business model, will not have to wait until next year to enter the game.

Will Latin American storytellers continue on eFootball ?
Yes, there are all the narrators that we had. They made a recording and the ones we had in Mexico, Argentina and Chile remain. Our languages will be from the start.

And will the great Jon Kabira also be there?
Of course it is there, so relax.

Many PES fans liked to collect their physical records and even search for the special editions. Will there be a physical edition of eFootball ?
For now, it was only announced that the game will directly be digital. But different markets are always studied and it will be the fan who asks for this type of content. It is still being evaluated. For now, the only way we're going to get out is digital.

With the launch of eFootball , do we say goodbye to PES forever?
Nothing is forever. We don't know what the future holds. But this is a game created by the same producers that made Pro Evolution Soccer . When you start to play it, you will feel the difference, it is not a continuity. But what does continue is the team, trying to make a soccer simulator game.

So, it is not ruled out that the PES saga can eventually return ?
I am not saying that it is not discarded or discarded. It would be impossible to tell you anything. We are focused on eFootball. What will happen in the future? I do not know.

To close: what would you say to the bulk of the community that is in doubt about this new saga?
My words is give eFootball a chance . It is a different game, it is a game that has its affection, that has its nice things, but you need to learn to play it. It's a new platform, it's new content, it's free-to-play, which invites you to play it without spending anything. I have no doubts that the user will accept it, because the game has that realism on the court that every player who comes with that DNA of Winning Eleven , from PES , will feel it at the time. The love will come easily.
I see Adam taught him well.

For those who currently have no desire to download the initial version of the game on 30th September.... Would you end up giving it a try if the old modes like ML do eventually come back (even if there's a reasonable price attached to them)? Or is it literally a case that'll you'll go nowhere near eFootball now no matter what they do with it?
A good question...

I´m having fun with a modded version of PES 2021 at the moment.
I haven´t played the online test of eFootball 2022...only have seen the videos.

I´m aware that you can´t judge a game just by videos, but tbh, I have absolutely no motivation in trying it.
What I have seen on the clips and the new controls and everything, leaves me ice cold about the game.

Nowhere it does look better than PES 2021. Not that I really care, but where is the photorealism mentioned in the interviews?
Just for example.
It doesn´t look next-gen at all.

But to be fair...the clips I have seen...players that obviously haven´t played a footie game before and fully asissted....and it was recorded off-screen, can´t fully judge it this way.

So, I will give it a try....but at the moment there is a very low chance that this game will convince me and keep playing it.
Plus....I highly doubt that when ML DLC is coming...it will be something totally new, something fresh...

It will be the same old stuff, with the same cut-scenes we´re dealing with the last years...

It's been the case for many years. We're always told to wait for the final build and it's always the same.
I now mate. But this year it is so different, as it all happened in only 2 consecutive months.

- They can't have nothing good to show , they were working for 2 years, let's wait until announcement

- New Football Online beta can't be the final game, it is just an online test, let's wait until 21 July

- PES 2022 can't be a free2play game, let's wait until 21 July.

- It can''t be the same game for all platforms, let's wait until Gamescom

- It is the same for all past platform, but PS5,XBOXseriesX will have special nect gen treatment, let's wait until September

This should be the catchphrase of eFootball 2022. Like "the pitch is ours" in the past. This year must be:

I think it's a close race for the tagline this year.

Currently in the lead is of course "Let's wait until...." , closely followed by "It's going to be shite...."

I'll insert my favourite quote from that Robbye Ron interview here, as he was kind enough to clear everything up:

"What will happen in the future? I do not know". - Robbye Ron, brand manager eFootball for Latin America

(Maybe it's just me, but I think it's a brilliantly funny quote no matter the context / question answered, that fits this new game / network performance test, perfectly). 😅

I can't believe it..or I miss something but coop mode and 11 vs 11 is pretty huge in the PES community ... why there is no single question about that? What is going on? It's faking a football game.. a team plays sport... why the hell there is nothing about a coop? I am very disappointed, this is the only thing I have been playing for the last 3 years.

Yeah, I don't know how I'd feel if the ML is just a copy and paste of what 20 and 21 offers. If the game plays and looks better, then maybe I'd let it slide. But I guess ML hasn't changed a huge amount, bar the cut scenes over the past 6 years, but I still bought each PES in that time regardless.

I think it's a close race for the tagline this year.

Yes but you know what. A random internet user throwing a random quote, is a stone in the ocean. A mutlibiliion international company serving shite, is unfortunatelly shite.

I can't hide you, that i avoid to participate in discussions about eFootball, as i result being mostly negative and pessimistic, but even me deep in my soul, have a secret half-past-dead hope, that something good may arise and that they were just lost in translation and bad communication.

But for the moment, they keep constantly feeding me with shite, at least for the 5 last solid years.

A simple example, even now in this whole messy situation, they are keeping Nintendo Switch out of the development, while the ground for a PES game for Switch if more ready than ever..

Another example, even if i would like to test the new MyClub until ML launches, Second man pressure and manual cursor change are/were fundamental features for my defending style.

It will earn some money until FIFA and EA comes to mobile devices. Than, they will cancel whole game (but you can call it already on PC/PS5/Xbox as canceled)

Summary

- we are a simulation
- it is a demo
- oh wait, it is not a demo
- we are not a game, we are a platform
- in fact we are the ball itself
- we are a happy meal and master league are the French fries
- please give us a try

I actually quite like the analogy of master league being these optional side dish that's been delayed and left on the counter... The mode has been cold and stale for years

Yes but you know what. A random internet user throwing a random quote, is a stone in the ocean. A mutlibiliion international company serving shite, is unfortunatelly shite.

Yep, seems crazy there's been no mention of a Switch version. Would actually like that for a proper portable experience rather than having to connect a controller wirelessly to my phone.

I don't get why they needed to replace certain gameplay elements. I guess I only really used right stick switching mainly on co-op play. But that's still a big thing to lose as not sure how choosing a player on the other side of the pitch to make a decent run will be possible without it. You can't be scrolling through every player with L1 in hope you'll be able to select the the right player you need at the right time. That's a major flaw the more I think about it!

It is as you say. And if the semi/auto cursor change is as broken as the recent years, and the awareness same flawed, then the L1 change only, will be a major flaw. It will deorganize all the lines, while spamming tapping L1.

To create a good soccer game you not only have to create a good soccer game.. You need to become a soccer ball.

The fact that they added the year in game's title

Give me a little hope for the offline modes for the futur

Btw, the title of the thread should be eFootball 2022 Thread

Mate, soccer is fun only 5 meters around the ball, why would you want to choose a player on the other side of the pitch?
I have the ideal suggestion. Only Action around the ball, and heavy 1vs1 skillgap.

Are you a not yet released game specialist or what? I see you around here only talking a non sense words or just your speculations, responding to everyoane.
Talk to me in another tone first WTF is annoying you in my post? Sincerely i don't get what. There's NOTHING, i said "if they > i will".
But it seems it's just that i'm annoying you for no reason, admit it and it's okay.

It's an interdiction to makes speculations? Many people said here "there won't be ML" or "It will cost 50 dollars for 5 players etc.".
You probably got an issue with me, because i'm not on the trowing arrow side... Sorry if it doesn't makes me laugh at all.

The things is i don't TOLD like if i knowed it, i'm just asking myself, what i will do. If you can make the difference... I don't know what to say.
And i try to be polite, seriously, i contain myself when i read people like you.

I'm not responsible if what you will get to play, doesn't fit you.
Non sense-words? Every words on that post are totally off, and you're talking about "no-sense", please dumber.
And from where are you appearing from? I feel like i received a porn announcement coming from nowhere when i go to streaming on anime or series

Mate, soccer is fun only 5 meters around the ball, why would you want to choose a player on the other side of the pitch?
If the game is only fun 5 metres around the ball, Konami have obviously never played Sunday league. Getting some pissed up / hungover centre back absolutely launching a ball, and the "fun" disappearing into someone's back garden

This game is shit and is dead before arrival, just forget it and sell/close forum or sell to discord its over for pes i am happy to play the older versions tbh we have 21 to chose from.

CONAMI are masters of regression, even net physics have regressed to the 90s style, there's no attention to detail anymore, look pes2010 amazing net physic but they cocked it up by giving saggy net still better than this horse shit

Are you still taking seriously the "5 meters" thing again? There was some fun bout it, but please...
They said things that doesn't makes sense every year, it won't change. Or it's a lost in translation thing as alsways. But even, i don't see the issue.

That doesn't mean the other "meters" around are completely obsolete in the game building. That's just his vision of "fun", not his vision of a full football game.
He was probably talking about dribbling, running, pushing the ball etc.
It's not like you won't be able to make a pass longer than 5 meters or a shoot, or something else. And the pitch won't be 5 meters size.

From my "not angry" point of view, it's over-exaggerations. There's others things to mock about the game but that one... The best jokes were already made.
You may skip instead of insist.
Sorry if i feel "all against you" but it's not personnal at all. Just the infernal loop that drives me not crazy, but facepalmed.

Edit//
I saw tons and tons of "speculations" btw. No one to say "hey are you Nostradamus or what?". No, because it's not in the mood of that thread.
Aggressivity is "relaxing" but too much is driving crazy, it's not really necessary.
Maybe we should open a real tread of the game instead of that "RIP" one. But i don't really want to post anymore here.
I'll send my next OF for PES 2021 when it will be done (because don't think i THRUST Konami, i just wait and see, but it's not promising. I don't dislike gameplay, neither graphics but all around the game, the bugs, it's still a big NO to be clear. I don't work for them ffs)

Wooo wooo, I wouldn't criticize people based just on their patience because the game isn't released yet... so let's just wait until then shall we???

Ohhh Sheite !!! :CONFUSE: 101 :COAT:

My favourite was
"We do not even consider ourselves as a game itself, an annual game. Our idea is to be the soccer ball."

To create a good soccer game you not only have to create a good soccer game.. You need to become a soccer ball.

And people following him and agreed? I laughed...
That's the most WTF sentence i've heard about football or game.

He probably tried to make an Asian proverb from what i know, without success 🙃
I'll pay for more "Robbie non-sense proverb" of that type. As i don't follow youtubers of football game (sorry TheKnight and Matt)
