eFootball (All Platforms)

Wow. Was wondering when the paranoia would surface. Here's a fun fact... There are actually people who can express their own opinions without being influenced by others. If you've never met one before... Hello, I'm David, pleased to meet you good sir.
relax man everybody its posting memes and playing with you

i do hope the game its at least fun and playable as well, but knowing konami history and what they did after the pes2020 demo (to remove the skillgap so they can manipulate the game better) we know where this will lead to

im saying that from what i saw and know. i bet a lot of ppl are buying the game thinking its the normal 1 game per year

i say that from being a brazilian and knowing ppl/youtubers/etc
got that impression especially after watching the video from PES forum brazilian youtuber. I have no idea why you are defending yourself implying some type of racism, ppl here just love pes and buy every year, and konami being so incompetent with PR (on purpuse i guess) can make that happen
Apologies. I was curious why you thought Brazilians would think this was a game you had to pay for. I don't know how this game has been marketed in Brazil, so if it has been handled differently to what I've seen in the UK, then the best I can do on here is say sorry.

No worries! Hard to know what's said in jest and what's not on here. I was expecting someone to say I work for Konami at some point, surprised it took so long, regardless of whether it was a joke or not!

Good to hear you wanting the game to succeed. I'm not happy that it's gone from an annual physical release to an always updated F2P model, but I'd rather have this than no football game related to PES at all. UFL and Goalz don't appear to be worthy replacements based on what I've heard so far.

I won't. Because i won't buy Myclub. But they try to sell thing, it's F2P game. Simple.
Like if you discovered for the first time the DLC and all costume or whatever weapon, you got to paid to get them on a F2P game, or you will spend 20-30 hours to get those stuffs.
Come on. (i don't talk to you personally mate lol, not at all)
Myclub will be free ;)

Here many brazilian websites and/or youtube videos are treating these "premium pack" as a DLC (and a really dont understand why).

I think that is the main reason for this kind of misconception about the game that robozaoGOAT mentioned about.

Theres are a lot of people moaning about the pack and saying the game is gonna be "pay 2 win".

Actually what surprised me is just the price. 200 "reais" is basically the price of a full game.

exactly and i think its this way with purpuse

ppl just look and say hey the game its out we can pre order and get some bonus

look at the price and think its the full game, and well maybe it will be more expensive later on, ok lets do it....

That's disappointing to hear that's being sold in that way. Are those sites separate from Konami and marketing it differently?

Surely you can see that the UK listings are also pretty similar to the way @robozaoGOAT is talking about the Brazilian listings, right?

To those following carefully, we know it's F2P and the pre-order package is for coins and "chance deals". But I can imagine someone who casually likes PES not really following it all, seeing a preorder package with the branding and pricing of a game and thinking it's just a game pre-order and buying it accordingly.

I'm with you (without being against Joga) Superloop.
You're just a bit too "relative" to that thread : people here are angry, and there's reasons. But well, i thinked it could be some adult discussion like you did with RobbieRyan for example. Or i don't know. But when i read "it's like PES 2010" well i'll be honest PES 2010 is the best looking PES we gotted in terms of lighting, so i personnally found the shape not ugly at all :JAY: just missing details, yes, agree. So it means it looks better than PES 2015 to 2021 : as no one have reached that level. The difference is PES 2010 lighting was precalculated... But well, i'm talking in vain. But i don't found Fifa 22 vids just graphically super neither.

And don't think i'm totally with their : i just try to adapt and to not check too much about ITW. I got PES 2021 that i will update with Efootball stats lol, retro PES-FIFA games, etc. so waiting isn't a problem. That's all. But if the price of their DLC is too high for modes : i will clearly tell them to go to shit on their twitter account, and trow Kimura over the bridge.

The thing is : devs aren't responsible. One man is. It's the one you should put on your sight, not all the team working under. Same for EA, it's the executive who choose the direction arcadey, but for them, i think they're a bit more free and listen too much to young complaints or Esports players. Way too much, it's visible in their version, year after year.

In fact, i'm already enough sad to joke about it. PES is more than a game to me, and i got the right not to "believe", but have some recoil and hope, and don't take every words they said and turn it into jokes, like the 5 meters things. He perhaps talked about dribbling, you know it's not the first and not the last lost in translation from Japan > English.
Tons of example i don't even remember as there's too much.
But i admit the "more meters of fun in the next update" killed me. It's when it become a loop and repetitive jokes than it's not funny anymore guys.

I must admit, I would not have seen that eFootball pre-order coins thing if someone hadn't posted a link. I can't see it being actively pushed on their website or social media channels.

Just did a search on their Twitter though and there is a reply to a query about it that takes people to a Steam link. Yeah, I can see why that can be misleading if you don't know eFootball is F2P. It's not something I would personally be confused by, but I can't speak for others.

I'm not concerned about micro-transactions just to say : i live in Belgium and it's forbidden :TTTH:
I can say for that, i'm proud of my country. Well it's F2P game, so... It's like normal to paid for characters (well players packs in that case). But the price, Jesus, i can't believe my eyes
I only hope mode DLCs won't be considered as MT (microtransactions > too long now it's MT to me) and won't be that expensive, ffs 30 or 40 euros practically!

And yes, i still believe we will get some kind ML in 2023, whatever some people thinks we won't have anything. Also reassured about one thing : there's a CPU AI and it's not worst than what we have with PES from vids.

In a scale of 1 to 10 do you need me to give you a probability of me doing business with koinami again?
I'd say 10. With 10 being you will and that you doing business includes buying a physical game of theres or downloading a free/not so free game of theres in the next 50 years.

When Konami release the next gen version of Poy Poy, you'll be all over that surely? You played the first one, right?

I do genuinely love that first game by the way

Yeah I feel sorry for the actual developers & engineers behind the scenes. They will take all the blame, while the execs are yelling at them through a phone to hurry up! .. probably eating lobster at some holiday resort.

P.S I was going to apologize to you specifically before my fishing meme post, but I was so excited about my comic sans that I forgot  I will try to keep the memes to minimum .. but they make it so easy !

No prob @Joga i ain't "resentful" (i don't know if it's the same meaning in english) neither the others who put a laugh > mocking on my previous post.
It was also a nervous post. When you got to scroll again and again and read in diagonal to found something interesting, and you see all that bashing...
I don't know, when you're already a bit sad of what direction it took, you just react a bit "harsh" if i could say.
That's human. And i don't remember whatever you said directly to me... You didn't, i don't see the issue bro, peace

But in other part, as i was with PESuniverse and told to the boss to stop sucking balls to Konami, and all those tweet, i just want to buy a virtual Gatling.
And shoot all over their promotion posts.
You probably know that it's the closest team from Konami, so they make often some publicity, promote them... They fears to say what they think, like TTB is a good guy, but blocked a bit by Konami. They also sended us free copy, but to work on it (so it's legit).

Konami's guys played PESuni OF on their office, and got inspired about some of our things, like Carrasco to their Licenced clubs kits for example.
So they played with my stuff last year and the year before, but for the 2019 version i don't get it lol, there were tons of better OF at the time.

Given the clearly incomplete status of the game so close to 'launch', so much that the couldn't even have 3D grass in the PS5 demo in Hong Kong less than a month before launch, it's clear that this 'full game' is not only a demo but a rough one around the edges. There are simply too many gameplay features 'waiting for updates', which is pretty much unacceptable without even having the 2-3 year development context.

That said, there are quite a few brand new gameplay elements that are worth getting excited for, especially for FUMA players. I like the direction the gameplay is heading, towards giving more control to players and removing assists. Despite it launching in such a miserable status, I think it's worth getting on board from the get go to get used to the new mechanics.

I made a video about the new improvements spotted in haphazard Japanese articles, leaked footage etc:

Decent video. Thanks for putting the time in to put that together!

I know what it was, I said "some people" can't deal with the memes. It was a hasty & dumb generalization and I do apologize. In my short time here, I have learned many new things about this game from your posts :WORSHIP: Consider the memes a rebellion (of sort) though ..

This negativity from fans has been building & has been shutdown for years by fanbois. People that complained about scripting were labelled conspiracy theorists. People who asked for more master league features were told to wait .. & wait.. I contacted their "support" multiple times & just got bot e-mail replies. As Slamsoze said earlier I am glad they are finally being honest. They will kill it, just like they did MGS & their whole library of classic art.

I saw some guy on reddit/twitter complaining about the coin announcement, only to get "shutdown" with a guy saying " It's a business, how do you think they make money ?".. this is level of thinking is just so ignorant & basic. This hivemind are ultimately supporting a multi-billion dollar company that is scamming it's own customers?

So I guess my point is, we have tried to be constructive but got shutdown for telling the truth .. so what else is there left but banter lol?

Well it would be a paradise if just by downloading the game if it's F2P, Devs would makes enough money.
Yeah, they're not wrong and you're not wrong neither about the business part, especially with the new format...
But it's about how much it cost, and how informations are released. They corrected a bit with informations about "what's the point to buy a pack for a mode we don't know what it means?", but it should have been done first, not 2 days later.

Now, if the price for some shitty stuffs is way too expensive, well, Kimura "tried" at least to get more money he could, but the price will drop when he see in two months 50 download for 100000 users haha.

Yes i understand it as more a big anger, on fire, that result to post not really thinked. I understand, but some were so much streched by the hair like we said in french language, that it was even dumber than the Kimura answer : not a single basic answer was took like "well it's a point of view", no.
At least if ONE people who said it, but it wasn't. This thread needs a bit of releasing anger but also a bit of seriousness.

We're, at least i am, talking to a game i follow since 1998-99 (don't remember the date of Iss Pro evolution 1) and became fan. It's more than a simple game, it's the reason i'm continuing to play some video games. Also, thanks to EA to have put an alternative on PS3 era.
Otherwhise i think i would never known for example if the game was exctinct after or during PS3 neither From Software games and some Souls like (Bloodborne especially which is on my top 3 of the best game i played in my whole life), Top Spin, GOW HD, Fight Night etc.

The issue is that even if there were some enjoyable PES / People were like, when i talked about PES 17 "PES still exist?"... It became synonym of Has Been.
No joke. Even when PES became more enjoyable than Fifa overally from the majority, the game still have the sticker "Has been" on their forehead.
Many, many people i know, ex-PES real super FANS was like they forgot the existence of the serie, since PS3 era, Fifa gotted licences, exclusivity and playable/enjoyable versions. No needs to send them patchs or O.F. anymore : FIFA got it at launch so...

Now that i'm thinkin of it, i understand a bit more the name's change, well even "Pro evolution soccer" in fact doesn't makes sense aswell as the longest name in history of game on the top 5 ISS Pro Evolution Soccer (if you spelled what "ISS" means )
Well "Winning Eleven" was a cool name from a not english speeker, i don't get the change but it's the past. Like Biohazard > Resident Evil from Capcom.
Both were cool, Biohazard makes less "horror" game, but Biohazard is cooler, one simple word.

I agree, Winning Eleven was the best name. The one with the strangest name started it all for me too

I was playing FIFA 95 on mega drive through to FIFA 99 on PC religiously. Then I found out about ISS Pro Evolution on PS1.. Absolute game changer, the depth was unmatched. I did a couple of scissor goals on FIFA 2000 & never touched it again :LMAO: Some friends would refuse to play ISS because they couldn't manage the turning inertia & shot timing. They would keep ballooning the ball over the bar because they were so used to the laser beam shots & dribbling in FIFA.

This game used to be developed with such obvious care & passion, good times.

Are you a not yet released game specialist or what? I see you around here only talking a non sense words or just your speculations, responding to everyoane.

Let's wait until then.
This should be the catchphrase of eFootball 2022. Like "the pitch is ours" in the past. This year must be:

"Let's wait until......"

Honestly, this is not personal to you, but since the New Football Online Beta Test, it must be more than 100 times that someone concluded with this phrase.

And the sad part is, we wait and in the end we eat shite! Pending for a" let's wait until.. " that will have a happy ending.

It's been the case for many years. We're always told to wait for the final build and it's always the same.

Interview with Robbye Ron, brand manager eFootball for Latin America

eFootball will mean a "tremendous" change with respect to PES: "It's a different game, people have been asking for it"

By: Fernando Chuquillanqui
Journalist, movie buff, collector, gamer.

September 16, 2021 - 9:27 AM
The announcement of eFootball and, with it, the end of the Pro Evolution Soccer saga ( Winning Eleven , in Japan) shook the video game industry and particularly hit the Peruvian community, perhaps one of the last bastions of the soccer saga in the world. world.

The new Konami franchise represents a resounding change with respect to previous installments ( Programer's friends have made a good summary about it ), since we are not only facing a new business model, but it seeks to establish its own rules at the playable level .

Will it be a welcome change for the community? Is eFootball here to stay? Will PES return eventually? This week I had the opportunity to talk with Robbye Ron, brand manager eFootball for Latin America, who responded to these and more questions in this extensive interview.

We already have the eFootball release date . What are the expectations for the start of this new saga?
Expectations are very good. The change is tremendous, but at the same time it is a change that people have been asking for. To do the evolution, we needed to do a hit like that. We needed a new engine and we got it with the Unreal Engine (4), which has facilitated this issue of being able to play on different platforms that we did not think to do.

Will it be a shocking change for those used to the gameplay of Pro Evolution Soccer ?
The user, who has already played it, is going to have that shock of the first days, of 'what is this? I don't get used to it. ' Literally, I had to stop, start to see how this was done, how the other was done, understand the tutorials. It is much more simulator, but that does not mean that the fun ends.

eFooball comes with nine teams at launch and just three game modes. Isn't it very little content?
It is a free-to-play game. If we compare it with PES 2021 , yes it is little (content). But it is another style of play. This is like a demo for us, for people to start learning. People need to begin to understand. It is a tremendous change and I think it is necessary to understand this version. When more content comes in, they'll be ready.

When will eFootball stop being a demo?
It is comparative to a demo, but it is not a demo. We have already shown the roadmap that this game has, and we will see that at the end of this fall (spring) we will have an update in which more teams will be added and you will be able to start creating your team from scratch, with new cards; start using eFootball coins .

With the launch of eFootball , is FIFA no longer your competition?
We are talking about being a platform, we do not even consider ourselves as a game in itself, an annual game. Our idea is to be the soccer ball. We want to be the platform and, therefore, we are available on all devices. The rival has its own strategies, I imagine, but we are more concerned with how to improve our platform, so that it is number one in sports users, especially virtual football.

Why not launch eFootball on Nintendo Switch?
We have seen that the Unreal Engine is helping us to make this multiplatform game, so a future possibility is much closer. But today is what we have, hopefully in the future we can have it.

So, the doors are not closed to the Switch.
The possibilities are never closed to anything.

It has already been announced that the Master League, one of the star modes of the extinct PES saga , will come to eFootball , but it will be paid content. Is it the only game mode that will be released?
We are going to have to see what all the modes that are going to come will be. There will be, of course, some (modes) free and others paid. That will be normal. The idea is to give the user something for everyone. If you don't want the french fries with the hamburger, then let them sell you the hamburger alone.

Will the clubs and teams we had in PES eventually appear on eFootball ?
They will eventually arrive in an update, of course. They will come in the future. Not such a distant future, so relax.

Will they arrive for free?
They will arrive free of charge.

Can you be sure that clubs or teams will not be sold for real money?
No, they are not going to be sold, of course not. Letters and other things, legends of each club, of course, can come in a campaign type. But the players that we already had as always in previous releases will come for free.

Will there be Edit Mode? Over the years an immense community of fans who edited PES was formed . Is there a chance to see any of that on eFootball ?
Yes, of course. The Edit Mode is maintained. What happens is that today it is not necessary, because only nine clubs come and all nine are licensed. When (the teams) are updated, the Edit Mode will also arrive.

Free?
Free.

Will the alliances with Peruvian clubs continue in eFootball ?
Of course, they will appear.

Is the Peruvian tournament license still being evaluated or has the idea of having it in eFootball been abandoned ?
It was not abandoned. The licensing team continues to work to maintain the licenses that exist, and why not add many more in the future. The team keeps working. Let's wait for news on the licensing issue. There are things that, due to this new business model, will not have to wait until next year to enter the game.

Will Latin American storytellers continue on eFootball ?
Yes, there are all the narrators that we had. They made a recording and the ones we had in Mexico, Argentina and Chile remain. Our languages will be from the start.

And will the great Jon Kabira also be there?
Of course it is there, so relax.

Many PES fans liked to collect their physical records and even search for the special editions. Will there be a physical edition of eFootball ?
For now, it was only announced that the game will directly be digital. But different markets are always studied and it will be the fan who asks for this type of content. It is still being evaluated. For now, the only way we're going to get out is digital.

With the launch of eFootball , do we say goodbye to PES forever?
Nothing is forever. We don't know what the future holds. But this is a game created by the same producers that made Pro Evolution Soccer . When you start to play it, you will feel the difference, it is not a continuity. But what does continue is the team, trying to make a soccer simulator game.

So, it is not ruled out that the PES saga can eventually return ?
I am not saying that it is not discarded or discarded. It would be impossible to tell you anything. We are focused on eFootball. What will happen in the future? I do not know.

To close: what would you say to the bulk of the community that is in doubt about this new saga?
My words is give eFootball a chance . It is a different game, it is a game that has its affection, that has its nice things, but you need to learn to play it. It's a new platform, it's new content, it's free-to-play, which invites you to play it without spending anything. I have no doubts that the user will accept it, because the game has that realism on the court that every player who comes with that DNA of Winning Eleven , from PES , will feel it at the time. The love will come easily.
I see Adam taught him well.
