Same. But in my case there's always one, same recurring scenario - FIFA is good for 2 weeks maximum after I start playing PES again trying to convince myself that this game is better than FIFA. - after 3,4 matches played I'm again sick of it again and I don't play any footy games for the next 2,3 weeks as there is no proper footy game available.
And then again...It's quite repetitive throughout the whole year until June hits where we usually get the first info about the new release in September, but after what I've seen this year about the EBullshit I decided not to upgrade my rig (no decent PES on PC this year, no next-gen FIFA either) - and I've got myself a PS5. So the only hope is in FIFA this year and I'm looking forward to getting into it again after 5,6 years of playing PES regularly.
Footy game is all about the modding that was my fav part since 2002, so I miss it so much already when I think about playing Poncemiontce Calcio, or fuck knows what's called.
Pretty sad times for the footy fans this year though.
It's a weird scenario because those Fox Engine games PES 2014 to 2021 are good overall improving the pace of the game, fantastic graphics, ball physics and others aspects improved, but are not addictive at all. Even with mods and patches after 2 matches on the field or 30 minutes in ML/BAL I'm getting bored, tired, like everything it's getting repetitive too fast, matches feels similar, teams/players feels similar, the action on field it's like you know what to expect, the scoring oportunities are mostly the same, and the game encourages you to play mostly in the same manner using similar patterns.
In previous PES games especially on PES 3-6 there was a gamey feeling and addiction towards matches and how the game overall was developed. Those games are less realistic in many of the areas but triggers that "one more match" feel (like one more turn in CIV games) mostly because of the "weirdness" and unpredictability that happens on the field with the ball or physical contacts, deflections from the body like the ball isn't glued or magnetized when the player stops or manipulates it with his entire body not just with his feets, players that makes a big impact depending their position, a stamina bar that depletes and can destroy your entire match if the dash is used too often, fouls and injuries that happens often, and other stuff related to the overall experience as editing, unlockables, you name it...
Then in PES 2008-2010 was a moment when those parts were slightly regressing going more into a more scripted direction, but after that in PES 2011-2013 everything was improved again to be more accurate, nearly to the classic experience (excluding those PES 2013 boots

). So initially in 2013 PES was 100% in the right direction, but when they changed the engine (Kojima's FOX engine) PES 2014 was being used as an experimental product, and some board asshole(s) got the illustirous idea to focus from PES 2015 into the online casino. That worked but at the cost of ignoring the offline modes crowd, focusing the development just into myClub and gameplay (repetitive as I said at the beggining). Then they brainwashed the consumers in PES 2020/2021 partially with the eFootball culture, almost nobody was complaining because the new crowd of tik-tokers was already growing too big, and now we are full into eFootball...
