eFootball (All Platforms)

Am wondering , how patches are going to work ? (If its possible) .. people who are creating patches will have to keep updating the patch most of the time because of the amount of updates being released by Konami most of the time !

Is it just me or when did 30th September become 'early Autumn'??????

I bet they wanted to release it this week but it's so unfinished it's been delayed.!
Yes!

We can argue about the different definitions of Autumn (all valid), but let's not allow that to overshadow your main point that the game is delayed.

Everything points to that, rather than any strategy to withhold details for commercial/marketing reasons.

why even give us season times , just give us a DATE :CONF:!

They'd probably say february the 30th, given how trustworthy they've become.

Nostalgia intensifies...
Oh well...Definitely. Even ifI'm more an Offspring guy to be honest.
Just imagine your team entering the pitch with 'Neocon' playing in the background. Just sayin'...

I don't think they can give a date, other than for the bare-bones initial release, as the game is so far behind in development, they simply don't know.

Some things haven't even been named, and the majority of features mentioned in the trailers are just promised in a future update!

Because i am playing with cousin, our girlfriends, our friends and they liked all of these skins and because i am dumb i bought them... And they release every 2 weeks new skins...efootball it s free too but you know if you will love the efootball and it will be your entertainment, without realizing, you will pay for these stuff..:APPLAUD: 10-20 euro for every week of the month you wont understand that you will give them 50-60 euro every month...They are smart guys...all of the past years we had to paid 30-80 euro (i dont remember the price) for their game...now we will give x10 more money...
The skins and the stuff in league of legends dont affect your skills and your rank...but if you are playing a game and you are watching all of these skins etc you want them...

Yeah I imagined money doesn't affect progression or skills in LOL, was more of a joke the part with the diamond. You know I'm a bit of an a-hole sometimes and I like to make fun of buying stuff in a "free" game... If you enjoy it, that's cool. For example I can tell you some games that I enjoy a lot, don't know if you are familiar with the games from Paradox (Imperator Rome, Crusader Kings, Europa Universalis, Victoria, Hearts of Iron, Stellaris). All of those have a very cheap base game and they released for them hundreds of dlcs that calculated you will pay mostly 400€ for the full experience related to every single game. In this case being games related to history besides historical events or skins are lots of gameplay mechanics locked via expansions and they are doing that because those are niche games and mostly because they own a monopoly in grand strategy...

In other hand talking about eFootball, will be a different type of fish to fry because virtual currency could influence besides skins (badges, kits, etc) the game itself... more virtual coins you purchase = more gambling chances = bigger chances to get good players or things that could influence your team/players (creating some addiction to it). In this case especially casuals (that will be the base audience for this game) will want to be "competitive": he has Ronaldo, then his friend wants Ronaldo; he has a better rated team, well his friend wants that too, so there will be lots of spendings as you say like in League of Legends, but not just to look cool or represent a team (badge, kits with 100% odds that you get that item), in eFootball (especially on mobile) could be even more currency movement because you'll do it also for a chance to gamble for a player (with thousands of posibilities, without counting duplicates or rarity) or to get posible boosters... Their mobile app alone made lots of money in those last years, so they've planned to shove it to our throats this year, not because they want especially to go F2P with an "improved gameplay" (that's just decoration), but because it's a mobile app that if on mobile will be free, on consoles/PC they'll need to do the same to function as one and unite the € "community".... 90% on their blue & yellow eFootball website information it's about coins / battle pass / roadmap / mobile etc. that's related to virtual currency, and the less important stuff related to gameplay, offline modes, competitions, will be eventually "*available in future updates"...

What you have described here is the mentality of what the industry calls "whales". I think what's wrong with your post here is that you use the word "you" as if to indicate this is a very general trend; that this sort of spending is normal. It's not; the industry knows it is not; and the industry actively seeks out people who have compulsive spending problems. That is what makes all of this so insidious.

There are people who spend on these games way more than even you, but you still are far above the average consumer for that sort of game. The FOMO effect has worked very well on you too, which people often dismiss because they think a game is "only" selling "cosmetics". But as we can all see, it's very lucrative and it uses psychological exploits to make some people part with their money.

This ingame currency format ruined a good part of the gaming industry. Paying for skins. I just cannot understand why someone would do that
If you are a kid then I can understand you cannot resist the temptation to be sometimes part of the group. Therefore I disgust these formats because it's mostly targeting younger people who are vulnerable.
Adults who buy this crap should be ashamed also, because they support this greedy system only intended the grab as much money out of people leaning towards gambling addictions.
That's the reason why some countries have regulations banning random lootboxes.
It's just a poison seeping into the gaming industry unfortunately. Some good developers dropped good ip's in favor of free to play crap. See Epic games. They mainly focus on Fortnite, while they ditched the fans of the Unreal games. Now we see the same with Konami.
Trying to generate as much cash as possible comes first and making quality games with passion comes second.

I think eFootball will be fine in year one but by year three it will be like H1Z1 Battle Royale (who remembers that?) There are still people who play it but it’s pretty much dead. I tried it last night on PS4 and it took ages to find a match.

Mate I used to love this game. It was sad to see it blatantly milked & abandoned. Alot of the "big" streamers & even twitch itself started getting heaps of views from this very game!

Fortnite started off with crowd funding. The founders joined because it was being billed as a zombie survival MMO.. As soon as battle royale became so big, EPIC got paid with skins in the the millions. Then promptly ceased development of the survival mode.

This has happened to so many games & now PES is the cow.

This could look more accurate on a "Free to Pay" blue & yellow bold font...

We can't be surprised by this outcome, deep inside we all knew one day PES would end in some form. We are talking about Konami, one of the worst video game companies in existence. A company who has massive video game franchises like Castlevania, Metal, Gear, PES or Silent Hill but they simply don't give two cents about them. Their focus is on pachinko machines, and that's were they use their famous franchises. And as long as that venture is profitable (and it is), they won't return in full force to video games.

And let's not talk about the way they baldy treat and mismanage their developers and creators. From Hideo Kojima, Seabass, Toru Hagihara, Toyama and more recently (although it's a bit of a reach to put it along side these giants) we can even include Masuda since he seems like another collateral damage in this process.

PES is long gone, and what is left it's a rudimentary mobile game adapted for consoles. It's so ridiculous that even simple mechanics like ball passes will come in future updates (that "sharp" passing thing, something that actually was already present in past PES games!). The game development of this EFootball seems backwards, the game looks inferior and as less options in relation to previous PES games when logic would dictate that this new game should be more advance in every aspect (it's not, and it's too much obvious). But then again we are talking about a mobile game (no matter what Konami says, we have eyes so it's impossible for them to lie at this point) so it´s no surprise the game as to be dumb down to be able function in cross play between mobile and consoles.

I wonder if the pandemic played a part in all this. Because it's obvious that this wasn't always the plan (at some point we had a PES 2022 announcement after all). But it's also hard to believe they scraped two years of development to present instead a rushed sorry of an excuse mobile game. Maybe the assets of Pes 2022(if that stuff even exists) were shelved and they will pick them up in the future to incorporate in this Efootball (and in future I mean 3 to 4 years, giving time for mobile hardware to catch up).

It's painful to watch this. Iv'e been a loyal fan since the PSX days, and master league was my jam. It's also clear that the market in football game is changing (suddenly there's all these new "free to play" football games appearing), and im guessing the single player is a dying breed!

For us the only solution is resorting to the old games. New Patches and OF's will certainly scratch the itch for while, but at some point it will not be enough.

It's a sad way for such a legendary franchise to die, but as is said in the beginning we all knew this was coming (just not when).

Ps: I wish Sony bought most of the famous Konami franchises. Winning eleven/Iss/Pes made a name for himself basically in the days the game was a Sony exclusive. Having a team of developers solely focused on producing a game for one unique machine certainly helped the games end quality back in the day. A return to those days (plus PC, since Sony is also releasing games there now) would be amazing. But unfortunately I don't see Konami selling their Ip's.

Liking this post as a victim of that mentality (spent on LOL at least around 100 euros or maybe even some more between stuff for me and gifts for friends at the times, this in some 3-4 years as well)

I preferred H1Z1 to PUBG, thought it was more fun and accessible. :)

They will get at least one year experience of F2P. Is it's stated that Fifa will goes F2P too?
Remember the two others games cames without licences. And they're still an enigm.

Marketing i agree, but it's a F2P, people will try it one day or another, it's free. I know some guys completely disinterested in Football Games since Fifa 17, even 16 because it's "always the same", who don't want to pay for a game anymore as they've feeled stolen due to the quality also but not only (just like i said, because it's a loop, same feeling again and again for them)
Those guys exactly said "It's F2P, i'll give a try then, it's cool". No joke. They don't follow trailers like us...

Edit: one of the guys from the other forum i'm going to talk to almost everything, even said we can make tournament, no excuse then. You see, people aren't all disappointed about F2P like us, who wanted a Digital full game copy (me too, but well.. I gotted PES 2020 and FIFA 20 in digital. I thinked "whatever, it's the same... And i got them for free so i prefers haha")

At least PES got things from his past, like Option file and import/export system, plus they signed with MLSPA so they will got MLS fake / normally simple to edit like PL and Liga.
UFL presentation is cool, but zero pic from In Game, even pre-renderer. But they're working on it since 5 years.
Issues will be licences, and only Online... For us at least : the two option will be Fifa or Efootball with updates in everything.

And Goalz... No way. It's decided since when? A year? What about contact with others clubs etc.?

One of my biggest hope : with 4 games, the END of exclusivity. 3 of them can complain and fight against it. Against the one company which started it...
But i'm dreamin' a bit too much on the last idea lol. I don't see that possible. Also, EA is licence, Fifa takes it. I don't have anything about Fifa, aswell as the guys behind Efootball creating it. But the ones above, Konami/EA
It's 5 games, bro, another one was recently announced. Football Player 2023, or something like that.

It will never end, i didn't heard it when i posted.
We waited more than 15 years for a 3rd serious competitor. Sincerely wtf happened this year?
Let's see if one of them will really survive, i think many won't probably even reach Dream League Soccer level we all know how hard it's to create a simple football game.

Still, those are supposed to be simulation oriented... It's all about to see, but who knows... And the reaseon for this sudden sprout of football games is next-gen, UE 5 announcement, so either they will be using UE 5 or either they will be using UE4 but want to take advantage of UE 5 announcement last year, etc.

At this rate even my mother in law could develop one in her free time this year, when she doesn't cook or search for a plot to kill me. Could be called "Sharp 'n Ballz".

The net physics are horrible.
The menus are horrible.
The tactics are extremely limited and dumbed down.

...but I still believe the gameplay itself will offer a superior on-pitch experience than PES 2021. But that will be pretty much it.

I still see on the internet that this game is talked about as if it were a console version!

Friends wake up!

PES is dead. it is finished. The true version of the ninth generation is no longer in use. That game was canceled. This eFootball is just a mobile version that is ported to the console.

Officially arcade game. Limited tactics. The controller commands are very simple. For Konami, the mobile version is important. Now they told themselves to publish the same mobile version on the console and pocket some money.

I hope edit mode is improved with eFootball 2022, or that it stays modding friendly, would really miss doing all those choreos and pyro shows !!

Genuine question: what have they shown that makes you think this? And are you setting a time frame for that expectation? E.g., do you think in the course of the "2022 season" of their live service product, your point about on-pitch experience will ring true? (I am intensely sceptical about that.)

Also, what's the experience amount to here? Are you including things like team-ID, sensible/realistic AI, in the experience?

The gameplay trailers and the improvements seen... 1-on-1, movement matching, ball physics, more animations etc. It will be *better*, but nowhere as good as it should have been. Other things like net physics have been monumentally downgraded, though.
