eFootball (All Platforms)

and this new format with free updates and paid updates for "new content", What will happen with "efootball season 2" next year... Will they able to delete our season and all players and restart them from zero to pay again for the new season so you can not keep playing with the players you have own during currently season so they have freedom to delete you all your efforts and if you want to keep playing the new season you will need to pay again, I do not like it at all

How right were those who said "mobile game" after that beta ... probably even they didnt mean it 100%, but its literally mobile game --- because otherwise it could be played cross-platform mobile-next gen ....

To release this in any form on PS5 is beyond me .. it will crash because PS5 wont even recognize it as app.

Graphics that are shown in close up, like Neymar and Iniesta, simply looks FOX engine to me, no difference from last year game, but literally nothing

Oof in my opinion you have a bad sense of what a game engine does.
In terms of fidelity, lightning, the way skin works and all that jazz its definitely different

But what probably makes it relatively close for you is the fact that they can Re-use all the assets they already built
Which was known, they can convert all the fox engine assets in Unreal Engine, not loosing any of the thousands of faces etc etc

So the asset (The facemodel) is definitely the same and not different from the fox engine as expected
But you can clearly see how those assets completely differ in Unreal Engine in that video versus in Fox engine (And not for the better at the moment haha)

The eyeballs and seem redone though :LMAO:

Even though this game is F2P it still feels like the devs have robbed the gaming community. No way on gods green earth has this game (in konami's own words) been "built from the ground up"

You know the way they love recycling stuff and introducing it as new features? There'a still hope that, in 10-15 years, when no one remembers Master League anymore, they will bring it it as a new feature!
We just need to stay healthy and eat out 5 fruits a day!
Let's have it right Em, some of us be like..

The end was announced already on PS2 : when even a "fake" Bundesliga disappeared, you know because of "who".
I think they suicided PES, like they've done with others game. It tooks longer than i thinked personnally.

... But if it's a PES LITE with DLC = same as a complete game, then it remains the same for me, it's not dead.
Even if it still not PS5-ish for this year. I still believe that Durandil is right and there was a change in the middle of something.

Well let's just then hope they didn't show us the best version of the game today

Konami Will try to convince us that this is a ps5 game downscaled to mobiles and not the opposite.

Since the beta online test, It was written on the wall.

If you dont like FIFA, no football game for You this year

Honestly I think they had good intentions with teaser released last year but something in the middle of the year happened inside company, you can call it covid, lack of time, whatever you want to call it there was a change of plan in the middle of the season and they decided to make a port mobile for all platforms and set for free

My first comment on this matter will be: I'm sorry for being so naive to think the "New Football Game" test was just that. Boy was I wrong.
Sorry @rojofa you were right!

I just can't put into words how I feel right now.
it made no sense that this wasnt the new PES

made even less sense that this really was the new PES

nothing makes sense anymore

worst thing is i think this will be very profitable after hearing the download numbers for PES Mobile

even though i didnt really like the last few games, this is a sad day for all offline players

And this theory would explain why they will release an unfinished game with just 9 teams to play on september and the rest as DLCs over this year and next year

Think about it, tho. Its really not the same. Its a DLC. Best case scenario (absolute best) - we gonna get same ML as Pes21. Few cut scenes, few leagues.
I dont even think we'll get half of the leagues Pes21 had.
Or they might start charging extra 20quid per league.
All the stuff we wanted - AI individuality, stadium creator, decision making, regens workaround, immersion, youth academy - there is literally zero hope for any of these now. They wont put extra effort into developing DLC.
You'll get handfull of leagues and fake champions league, with few cut scenes with our favourite baldy assistant.
Its a nightmare..

As one of the first to play NFGOT, I absolutely slaughtered it.
If I only I realised who I was cutting down so ruthlessly...an old friend.

For a day or two I argued (politely) with those who thought this wasn't the pes we'd get...I just couldnt see how konami would ever make two games in parallel. But then I decided to take a break from the thread thinking I must be wrong, of course this wouldnt be what they released.

Well, those were the days of glorious innocence.
What truly alarms me, in a strange way, is that they seem to have even ditched the stadium cam for an illogical, physics defying monstrosity. Which sums up their entire approach. The stadium cam felt like we were finally moving in the right direction, a breadcrumb leading us to a ps5 revolution.
Alas, no.

I first came here, I think, during my pes 3 days, having discovered pes when a friend invited me over to his house and he had a brand new ps2 and pes and gta 3. What heady days they were. The boundary breaking gta 3, which for all its violence had an undeniable warmth to it, a kind of nobility.

And then pes. Pes, with it's free replay camera where you could amaze at the sheer impossibility of having zidane at your fingertips.

Two years later he leant me his ps2, swap magic and we7. Playing with Henry and Pires at Arsenal, with figo, zidane, Ronaldo and Raul at madrid.

That lighting at Stamford bridge.

Those soft-focus highlights, THAT highlights music.

The intricate attacking moves that were never really possible in any other pes.

The days of dreadful form, only to realise you were attacking too quickly, not building numbers steadily enough in attack.

And then picking up the pes 5 demo from game. Playing as chelsea.
And then the real game.
Porto.
Ajax.
Depor at the razor.
Playing against depor and finding it impossible to get past manuel pablo.

So many memories. So many friendships deepened over a game of pro evo or evo or just pro, almost never 'pes' as far as I remember.

A shout out too to the lively teammate attacking AI of pes 4, despite its faults elsewhere.

And now: nothing. It's gone. Not just a game gone, but something deeper, a kind of hope that somewhere in the world, the desire to just make the best game possible, from a small, but feverishly committed team, might still exist. That it wasnt old fashioned to believe in such things.

I remember a review said it seemed like the pes team sprinkled fairy dust on the discs before they were sent out.
I so desperately wanted them to get back to the glory days, for them, almost as much as for us. I felt they were better in some way, purer than fifa devs, noble, a last cry of the romantic, the idealist.
Such was my depth of feeling for them. I stopped feeling that around pes 2015, I think.
I wonder when they stopped? It's quite disheartening to realise it may have been well before we ever suspected it.

that is exactly what happens in cod

That's my case from the first part, but i'll see for the second what's in the DLC.
I don't care that much if it's a bit like a PS4 game 4k with Edit mode and all teams.
There's also an AFC nations partnership and all.. Weird.

Yeah me too, it's too big for being real. They've got an issue, making the supposed PES 2022 "real" version trow by the window, and need one more year. So that's the famous alternative. And looks like it's lie from the producer and it happened recently, not a two years ago decision. I don't believe a word from i don't his name producer from the itw.

Don't know if somebody already pointed it out, but it seems people on Reddit are quite angry as well. All the front page is full of indignant posts. Afraid they'll forget it all on release day.. but still nice to see.

Anyway, read a random comment I appreciated:

This is like the gaming version of the Super League reveal. Terrible…

Bad fact about this is that this will be the format forever for pes series now and there will not be a real pes 23 or pes 24 anymore

I dont understand..i also read its free to play..so there will be two versions? One free to play and eFootball 2022 full version with Unreal Engine. Yes or No?

I couldn't possibly come here today acting like I wasn't the stupidest guy in the room after what I said :(
Do I get a pass for hoping that PES 2022 would have been amazing since I'm only following PES since April of 2020, I was tired of EA and FIFA around early 2020, so i came to pes, I wasn't disappointed until.... now. Well now I'm more than disappointed, I don't know enough words in the english language to be able to describe my frustration / disappointment.

But for people who have stuck for 20 ish years with Konami and ISS , WE, and then PES, this must be a big "Thanks, but we don't need you" from konami to all the people who supported them for all those decades and years

I'm not a developer, I'm just an average gamer who loves PES but now I'm silly asking: a crowdfunding would be possible in this scenario? I mean, we already have a pretty solid PES 2021 as a base. How could be possible making it better with some improvements made by professionists? Like other poeple said, football games are pretty dead nowadays with this ridicoulous announcement.

With football since 2015 (yep, it's a bit late, but football is not that popular in my country), with PES since 2017. I've seen these speculations about the game going to be f2p, but i've had hope. I could not believe they would spend so much time to just release mobile game with downgraded graphics. It's just mind blowing. It's so upsetting, i can't even describe this with words. "eR.I.P. PES (1995 - 2020)" on the top of the site isn't even an exaggeration at this point.
Feel a bit sorry for all content creators who gave this game series soul and made this game much more enjoyable. You are still awesome, and huge part of the games' success is on you. Will be missing your works.
Still have a little, even tiny, hope that they will release some master-league-like game modes or change the course back to normal, but probably it's not going to happen, since such F2P cash grabs are usually very successful from income point of view.
RIP.

Making games is not easy at all. It would take at least 3 years to get anything decent. Even crowdfunding I'm afraid won't be enough to make a AAA level football game.

we have proffessionals capable on this forum but theres nothing can be done with 2021 and fox is a proprietary engine so is not available for use, a whole new game would need to be crowdfunded and the mountains to climb on that front are enormous

I don't really get the logic "DLC > same ML as PES 21". But you're right about all adds we wanted (or you wanted) and we won't have probably due to DLC.
You can't take the others Datapack and all in comparison to said "hey, you see the Euro Dlc" for example, were's talking about modes.
A DLC is sometimes a thing you unlock, already on the game but not complete.
Well, i won't wait anymore on automn, that's sure.
And yes, it's pretty ugly. All Digital... No more PES or Efootball (for what i care about the name)... Shame

All digital and controlled by DLCs so they can to delete you all season to obligate you to "buy new season"
