You can take the risk in attacking by the buildup speed slider, forcing the CPU to play around more. But this may result in getting the ball in midfield to easy if errors are to high.

As said, usually end up giving the CPU about +2 in acceleration and +3 in sprint speed. It opens up possibilities to use free areas and you have more work to defend them. Combined with the increased dribbling intervals (around 55-60) it works really great this year, although i have not found the sweet spot in (early) shooting right now.
 
Career mode is brutal this year. Stamina seems more realistic, add in the dynamic overall system and you really have to manage the game time of your players. I am just over half way through the season and I am having to rotate pretty much every game. Unfortunately, a lot of my squad players OVR has dropped because I did not play them enough in the first part of the season.

Similarly with transfers, not sure if it is because I am a lower rated team but trying to attract and sign players can be really difficult. Even when you do agree terms with a player, several other clubs will be in for them too.

Career Mode is brilliant, IMO. Clearly put together with great care by a team who have a clear vision and know football games inside-out.

If only they'd make the gameplay too. Can you imagine?

Re: the transfers, I have seen similar criticism (that when your attempt to sign someone falls through, which it often does at lower levels, they instantly sign for someone else).

I don't feel like it's totally unrealistic (if someone is talking to you and looking for a move, they're going to be talking to multiple clubs and looking for the best deal, and they'll likely pick their club and reject the others within a very short timeframe). But it might be a little too difficult.

I have no doubt they'll tweak it if it is (I know there's a transfer difficulty option but I know I wouldn't want to make it easier, just realistic without being too harsh).

got used to it back then can play manager career here fine too

the massive improvement for me is faster smoother negotiation and also finally searching for gems are easier too due to robust search function
 
Ive buckled and ordered the standard version. The fact that EA have no competition plays into their hands. I must be able to get it to an enjoyable state with the amount of sliders this year.

If last year's game was good, you buy next year's game.
If last year's game sucked, you buy next year's game, cos surely this year is an improvement.
They can't lose.
Plus, they then rake in billions with degenerate kids gambling, legally, lovely stuff.
EPL teams now can't have gambling on shirts, but EA sponsoring everything football is fine.
Hmm, what's worse adults gambling or kids?
