The controller is updated to the latest firmware?!
I had a similar problem with ea fc 24 I think. It might be you have to change the start/boot settings in fifa...google it as unfortunately I cant remember the exact fix, sorry.

I am always online and everything was ok till yesterday
Yesterday i player kick off mode/champions league, Liverpool - Lille and game speed was just like during trial or one week after game release. After 4-5 hours i played again champions league mode Liverpool - Lille and game was like FUT game when it comes to game speed, huge difference.
It is more about engine and coding than being online.

@Erik Boscolo you are using the EA App or steam Version of the game? BT or USB connection?
My ds via bt works without the use of ds4windows.

This game is broken. Sliders no sliders gameplay mod or whatever, not gonna help.
PES21 still the best.
In my opinion pes21 is not even close to be the best football game ever, because it's surpassed by all its predecessors from PS2 era and by many old fifas too (11,14,16,17,19). It's one of the most overrated games ever. Still, it's decent, way better than any fifa/FC from 20 to 24, but fc25 on Sim is way way better.
FIFA/EA FC is a game for every kind of players so the vanilla gameplay is for everybody.
Here, we are footy lovers so for us, sliders were our only solution to have the game we want.
I have a blast since the start, I enjoy every match.
I haven't the beta this year and the feedback I saw wasn't really good.
But after my 3 first matches on simulation mode, i said " Damned, that is really a FIFA? The defense is hard, goalkeepers are good, the tempo is nice too, less slidding"
EA FC 24 was not a good game.
Now I'm in the middle of my second career started with United and each match is different, with suspens. The stamina, the CPU crosses nicely this year, the comeback of the introductions.
It's the best FIFA/EA FC since many years for me.
I have downloaded Football Life 2025 and I didn't started it yet, I'm only want to play EA FC 25.

Maybe you will have a different feeling with the game. But I didn't expect to like this game like I did now.

Yeah because this way live tuning updates are not downloaded. By keeping the game offline you're preventing tuning updates from overriding gameplay files

I don't think that not signing into EA's servers prevents previously downloaded title updates from being used. To achieve that you'd have to never sign in to their servers from the moment you install the game - or play on PC where you can delete it from the "appdata" folder.
I'm just so disappointed (if it's confirmed) that sim mode has been impacted by these updates, because there's no point in sim mode if we still have to jump through hoops like this to keep the game from getting faster and dumber. There's no point in implementing a set of realistic values, and then allowing updates designed to speed up gameplay to impact them.

You might be right mate, I was thinking of pc version!
I don't know if the problem I had is the same but I think it was to do with the start boot settings. The anti cheat can be ignored that way.
I think you go into task manager and change the boot up priority settings for fifa or something...a lot of people had the problem with cf24 on pc.
but that's assuming we are talking about the same problem!

The amount of tackles that just go back to the attacker is ridiculous. You're punished for making clean tackles, you're better off just charging into attackers.
Played against a team last night in clubs with ridiculous recovery times after losing the ball, they seemed to get a speed and strength boost after losing the ball.
I think stats overall need to be tweaked, everyone is too fast, too strong, etc. I know the average player doesn't like error, but there needs to be some error, bad first touch, bad touches when pressured/jostling. I also know this is a pipe dream since the game isn't meant to actually be a sim, it's sim in name only.
Career is still fun-ish, but the sped up gameplay, jelly legs, CPU doing what they want when they want make it completely un-fun sometimes.

Just logged on to give my two pennies since I've not played for a week and I've been reading this thread anxious to give it a go on sim mode as there's been loads of people saying it's been sped up.
I'm...just not seeing it myself. I've been the biggest critic of this game over the last few years but this still feels like day one on sim mode for me. There's a lovely weight to the game this year, too.
I'm not sure what interest EA would have in touching the sim mode gameplay, unless they did it by ignorance. I honestly think they won't touch it (I probably sound so naive) which to me is the whole reason it exists in the first place, to make sure us offline players aren't always complaining. They can forget about us now! Why would they introduce the mode then just make it the same as the rest of the game?

Eurogamer's review dropped today, and it's pretty good IMO. A long read, but worth it, and I agree with the majority personally (shame there's no mention of sim mode though).
1v1 even gets a mention, so it's not just us "serious" players noticing this, and fed up of it.

The pace has definitely increased again on the PS5 version of the game I have. Simulation mode is a sham. I can create a better simulation mode with custom sliders. Even then it is still very arcadey and doesn’t feel very much like football. EA needs to completely overhaul this IP and get rid of the jank on and off the field in order for it to appeal to the more cerebral football fans among us. The series hasn’t really progressed in years and still feels more like a weird cross between ice-hockey and basketball than football.

I suppose I'm.. lucky(??) enough to not be dependant on football games, as I play lots of others. You could call me casual, even though I love serious football, play full manual and accept only realistic gameplay.
And after about a week or two of playing Dayz (as new DLC dropped) - I went back to EAFC just out of curiosity, coz reading this thread man can develop schizophrenia.

In the lower league of my career mode - I don't see much changes. But that not to say that things did not change.
From what I know - it's not like SIM mode will not be affected by patches. But it won't be affected by general patches.
Like you said - it wouldnt make any sense to putt effort and resources into creating SIM mode just so it can be fucked by Update 1.
There are separate codes and both will be updated separately. General gameplay by "FUT" patches and SIM mode by SIM patches.
It might go sideways at some point, coz we have to remember that SIM mode is still a new thing, so they will be experimenting with it, but I highly doubt that they will purposely speed the gameplay up and make it more arcady. Coz it goes against everything they built there.
We just have to keep providing a good feedback, preferably with clips and details on what settings do we have.
On personal note - I always say to developers on all the social media platforms - leave the game as it is for a while. See if initial feedback is not just a familiarisation problem. Maybe people just need more time to get used to it?
They should focus on bugs first.
R2 quick subs still don't work on PS5 and I still don't know whether SIM mode is not being "lost" between matches.
In the beginning we had to go to settings and turn SIM sliders back to custom and again to SIM coz even tho it said it was SIM - in the background it was switched off. I'm still doing this every match coz none of the patch notes mentioned fixing it.
But yeah - it's not ruined. And it won't be ruined by regular patches.
the thing is : in terms of Gameplay its really not worth 5€ for some new animations/graphics.
And the paetron Gameplays are good but its way too much when you need a gameplay mod and Esim, and overall to be save for upcoming TU breaking Updates, the money is too much to pay it every month

Yesterday and today i played 3 EFL Championship games and simulation mode is working again for me, game pace was even slower than pes 21.
Well said. This user has constantly complained and spouted the same even in Anth James's thread and others where a free option is offered.
