EA SPORTS FC 24

Yes. You are right. Since the latest updates. I play exactly with the same difficulty & settings with you and i had the same feeling. But i think one part of this has to do also, with the increase of speed the game has now ,the increase of speed the way cpu players can change direction ,pass, plus the fact that human cpu controlled defenders don’t mark. With the updates tend to "come back on defence" ok behind the ball, if you set the instruction, but they don’t mark. Just keep a distance from the attacker or going the other way so the cpu can score goals
What I find with defending is that it seems to be more effective when you jockey and then shirt pull rather than tackle. Soak up the pressure using this method and they’ll eventually loose the ball. The countless penalties I’ve given away using the standing tackle is insane. Jockey and shirt tug never seems to give a penalty away.

Does anyone know if hiring a scout with higher stars increases the speed a which a player is fully scouted? I.e getting to the point of showing overall rating, value and current wage. (Standard scouts not youth academy scouts)

I’ve complained a lot about this game but for whatever reason (think it might be to do with gameplay changes) I’m actually enjoying playing it. I only play career mode though so I’m not sure how UT is currently. I know most people seem to play UT.
I’m quite surprised that I now like playing it on career mode 🤔 I’m sure plenty will disagree with me though 😁

Can't put it down. We're in the final parts of testing and it's really coming together. The patch update before the one that just came out kind of hurt a bit, but we've weathered the storm. So much variety in play, more crossing on legendary difficulty than FIFA 23, good resistance throughout the pitch. The brightness bug is bad though.

This brightness bug that I’ve heard about, what exactly is it? I’ve noticed that when I’m playing in a stadium on a sunny day the parts of the stadium covered in shade are fine but when I’m in the sunny parts it’s blinding making me avoid playing in those areas. Is this what you mean?

Edit: Does anyone know anything about the title update regarding the commentary packages? In career mode I don’t hear any change in it. I’ve started a new manager career since the update.

The updates have broken my sliders. Where the game used to be equal and I worried if maybe it was a little too easy on occasion with the AI barely having a shot, it's now swung fully the other way. Might have to try some different sliders or something. See here my performances as Istanbul Baseksahir away and Celtic at home. I mean, when have you heard of Aberdeen out-shooting Celtic (Ferguson's Aberdeen in the 80s maybe?)

EA launched a survey asking what the community wanted in the future of the career mode based on 10 new features mentioned in this survey. Did anyone who played the beta receive this survey?

Among the innovations were: Improved player development, authentic youth leagues, more ways to develop young players, women's career mode, online career mode with other players, revamped transfer negotiations, improved scouting mechanics, challenge mode based on real-life contexts, more focus on tactics, more leagues, interaction with the manager and the team, manager decisions, interaction between the manager and the board and the manager's personality.

Did you play it or sim it? If you played it then I guess it’s kind of on you. If you simmed it then it could happen now and again but shouldn’t happen regular.
Also the shot accuracy from Aberdeen is actually lower. Which suggests they were long ranging it.

It's Kick Off mode, as that's all I play. Pretty sure my stats from before were like 15-20 shots from me, and for an Aberdeen for example, about 10. Something HAS changed in this game. I've gone from about 13 wins and 5 for AI to being behind the AI. The only game I've won recently was when I did Bayern away at Sarsbrücken. The match went into Extra Time at 3-3 & I only won with a last minute goal. I know Sarsbrücken won in real-life, but a video game shouldn't be as one-off.

The shot accuracy is probably because I upped the shot error for the AI, otherwise the game is unplayable.

The facts are, I've played before the update with the sliders and if felt good, it felt balanced. The difficulty of the opposition mattered. Lower levels found it difficult to break through and have shot after shot, and I managed to have plenty of chances myself. Now, post-update, the AI are on a mental shooting spree & I can barely get any great chances on goal. My one goal there is from a rebound. If I hadn't upped the shot error, it would probably be about 10-1, barely in mind that this is my goalkeeper at about 70+ on the sliders

I play manager career mode and I have the sliders at default. Both myself and the Ai create chances and it seems quite balanced in the way that if the Ai team is stronger on paper it does become more difficult for me to create chances and they will create more, and visa versa if my team is stronger. Since the updates it feels as though the elite teams have got really strong though, so much that it’s very difficult to beat them. I think that’s how it should be though.
Maybe decrease the difficulty level by 1 and use default sliders (though the Ai rarely crosses and favours cutting in a lot using default)

I really like this game after all these updates. It's really nice to play. I play with AI, I finally see some variety in creating action. And the result, finally every match does not end 3:3, 4:3, 4:4.
When I play the AI generally go out wide and then cut inside. Rarely cross the ball.
I agree the game is much better now though

Palmer does deserve a higher rating. He’s currently at 69 with a Potential of 82. It should probably be around 73 with a potential of about 84 I’d say.

Started a career with Torino. Normally I like to develop players in the 60s overall rating but I decided to sign players of a bit of higher level. I signed Gimenez from Feyenoord. Absolutely top notch. Increased his weak foot from 4 to 5. He’s lethal for me. Can score from a lot of angles, decent height, superb in the air and has a good positional sense.
Overall 80/ Potential 85. Give him a try if you’ve got a spare 30mil, I doubt you’ll regret it.

I miss the days when EA cared about current player statistics on a regular basis. Cole Palmer 69 OVR, seriously?
In the last update, they increased his stats from 69 to 71... Which is still disproportionate to his current form. I have the impression that they are somehow "afraid" of large, drastic changes in statistics and will improve it little by little.

An increase to current form and potential is great if they only had online modes but for a career mode there needs to be some scope for development. Plus, his form could change throughout the season. I do think a slight increase is definitely warranted but a big increase is unrealistic to me. To get a high overall score he should be a proven entity that is consistent for a couple of seasons.

That's a good signing. Could see a good fit there at Torino.

I've started CMs with the summer transfer window disabled so I can get to January with a clear picture of what I need. Definitely a different approach, but it is also cool to see what predictions there were that didn't pan out.

I have altered the system of Torino so he’s a lone striker. I’ve modified a 541 into a 361, since for whatever reason it forces you use 2 CF behind the striker when trying to make a 361. It literally stops you changing them both to CAM. So yeah I got around this by modifying 5 at the back and just altering them to side mid instead of wing back. I play gegenpressing which suits how I play. I don’t have the patience for tiki taka, plus I play 4 min half’s so yeah. Works very well with the Torino team and Gimenez spearheading the attack, although I’m not sure how realistic it would be that Tornio would acquire him. I think his next move would to be a big club (no disrespect to Tornio fans) with how he’s currently playing in real life.
I like your idea of closing the transfer window from the off, I’ve never thought to do that. That would definitely make it more realistic using real life current squads until the real life window opens. What team are you currently using and formation etc?
