I was only commenting on the hair situation. But there was no need to have another pop at the Italian League. I'll admit that some matches can get boring, but the majority aren't. Are you trying to say that the Premiership doesn't have boring matches?

Easy, son....just trying to get a rise out of you :D

Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo says joining Chelsea represents the biggest challenge in his career.
"I am excited by the challenge and the opportunity to play for Chelsea in the Premier League," he said.

"I have always looked for challenges wherever I have gone in my career and this is one of the biggest challenges I have undertaken."

"I have heard great things about Chelsea and what they hope to achieve. It's easy to want to be part of that if you have ambition and you want success in your career. On top of that,i'll be very rich the time my contract runs out.I wouldn't have left Inter but the money they were offering me was too good too resist.Even if the coach doesn't pick me,i'll be more than happy to sit on the bench as my bank account gets fatter."

Chelsea and Juventus will hold talks today over midfielder Edgar Davids.
Italian media reports suggest Chelsea have offered £8 million for the Holland international and also committed themselves to a £3.5 million-a-year contract for the midfielder.

Juve chief Luciano Moggi hasn't dismissed the bid and will hold more talks today. With Davids in the final year of his contract, Moggi knows this could be the last opportunity to make a significant profit on the Dutchman.

Arsenal and Man unt have better squad though

How are their squads better than Chelsea's ?? Where do they have more strenght in depth ?? They dont. Man for man Chelsea's first team is as good as either Arsenal or Man Utd, and the rest of Chelsea's squad (subs/reserves) is way better than Arsenals or Man Utds.

Man Utd and Arsenal also dont have the money to just go and buy players when they need. If Chelsea end up with say Crespo, Mutu and Hasselbank all injured around January they could then go out and just buy another top class striker (some like Eto'o). Man Utd, as a plc and given AF's recent record on big signings, just cant splash the cash as much as Chelsea. Arsenal cant spend much money either coz theyre saving for a stadium.

Anyone know if this Smertin guy is any good? Apparently he has agreed to go to Chelsea as of today's news.

Well if he's joining Chelsea he won't be good for long...he'll only get a game every 2 months and he'll get rusty :)

Dear Milo,
i'm italian and i saw many premiership match.
I agree with you that there be less boring game but i think
that this often happen for ridicolous defence.

Chelsea defence it's poor, somebody saw Chelsea Leicester?
Stupid owngoal  also blues defence it's bad.
On italy there is a tv magazine called Never say goal.
with lot of funny play (almost from premiership).
Premiership it's a god league, more enjoy that Serie A but tecnicaly the team are on Preistoric era. Obviously i don't think about ManUnt, Arsenal, Chelsea, and Newcaslte. Only 4 team have god dispisition on field.
Don't worry. It's just my opinion.

Sorry for my poor english

Don't get me wrong, I think Italians are very gifted, skillful footballers and many of the Serie A teams are giants of the game, I was just saying that the game is less apealling to me. I still enjoy watching the games, I just think Spain and England are better.

The only team that has a better defence in Italy is Ac Milan. Chelsea have the best defence in England probbaly the 2nd best in Europe.

Also if you lot would of know anything, you would know that we have bought Smertin as a favour for a friend of Roman. he won't be playing and he will be loaned out to another epl team hopefully.

Best italian team defence... it's juventus without doubt.
Chelsea 2nd best in europe... maybe when pigs fly.

lol I agree.

Not sure what the last few pages were about, but Chelsea were a shambles at the back on Saturday. Desi was pushed about by 'Ickov' all game, and even Terry (who was excellent for 89 minutes) was caught out by a hit and hope.

That said though, while we played badly, we still could have gone on to win 4 or 5-1.

Well, Terry. I think if Saturday's game had been played in 4 or 5 weeks time, it would have been like that. We're not a team yet - the players need to get to know eachother and get tight, playingwise. When they do, teams like Leicester will lose like 4 or 5 nil against us.

Agree?

Definitely Zeb. When Mutu gets on his game, he is going to be really scary. He didn't have the greatest of games, but you could just tell he was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch.

Once we work out where to player Veron, I think we'll do OK. 4-1-2-1-1-1 formation probably!

How do you figure those 1-1-1 will line up? Mutu up top as a pure striker, or...?

Isnt he more of a 2nd striker, most of his goals are from outside the area, but he likes to make assists aswell, surely Crespo will be the out and out striker....

I think we are probably charging a vast amount for a game which (considering the result) is unlikely to provide a giant killing now.

Are there no other games on TV tonight?

Yeh: Veron-Mutu-Crespo

I can think of worse!

That sure DOES sound good. I'm really looking forward to seeing Crespo in action. He's been a really good goal getter for years now. I just know he's gonna be that for us, too.

Crespo is world class and i think that he will adapt to playing in the Premiership with relative ease. Compared to the Catenacio (sp ?) in Italy, he should have a field day with the open english defences.

As well as Crespo being unveiled at the Bridge tonight, we got a comfortable 3-0 win over MSK Zilina. The scorers were: Johnsen, Huth and JFH.

Champions League Football lads!! Not that it was ever in doubt of course  . So looking forward to seeing Crespo, Mutu and Veron in Europe. Bring on the group stages. :D [/b]

Oh my god Chelsea you look great

Cudicini
Johnson
Terry
Desailly
Bridge
Geremi
Veron
Cole
Duff
Mutu
Crespo

What a side..a bit young though.Good luck Chelsea! 8)

I didn't go last night (saved myself £30 though!) but it seemed like a pretty comfortable victory. Lot's of moans about Eidur though - apparently wasn't the slightest bit interested, however Jimmy worked his socks off and was good value for his goal. Star of the show was Huth, the biggest man I think I've ever seen.

Onto the group stages!
