Champions League 2011/12

Olympiakos definetly deserve 2nd place,Dortmun also deserved 4th (they played horrible),Marseille played very well.
But highlight for me of first stage is Apoel and Zenit :BYE: They were better than two big teams Porto and Shakhtar.

dortmund's team is quite young but in international matches they are missing experience and cleverness - so they paid the price.
but dortmund only played horrible at olympiakos and at home against marseille (second half). most of the games were quite ok, but due to the points i mentioned and due to the fact they need far too much chances to score, they lost matches.

i can not see why olimpiakos deserve second place? by the gift of arsenal playing with second team? if arsenal would not have been qualified, it never would have come that easy to beat them...

i can understand that coaches want to give some of first team players a rest, once they have qualified. but in the end i think it's not fair to came up with nearly a complete second team. it's a shame. and it's sad for me as a Schalke 04 fan to see the same things happening at our last match at macabi haifa in euro-league.

Completely agree....
I remember all the fuzz a couple of season ago when Wolves played with a reserves team against (i think) Man Utd, then the other big English teams protested, but they do it all the time...
 
Zenit is going to be a big spender at this winter transfer window, for whole 2011 we bought only one player - Criscito.
We can have a good chance against Chelsea,Arsenal, OM, Inter, Benfica. Real and Barcelona will tear us apart :(

Arsenal, OM and Olympiakos have the Champion's League experience this last years no Dortmund and isn't a legend you really need this experience.
And for yesterday, Dortmund give all in first half, the Remy goal and Olympiakos result (2-0) kill Dortmund chance and mental.

Anyway, guys, where can I stream some CL matches today in good quality and hopefully good connection (no lag, buffering)? I'm at my gf's house and she doesn't have the channels that usually show it.

Watching Lille vs. Trabzonspor and it's 0-0 but been very entertaining though one sided. LOSC playing great Barca like football and with Hazard, Joe Cole and Payet switching positions and interchanging, it's a joy to watch. Talented players, quick feet, great movement and teamwork as well as great individual skills.

Hazard could've scored a goal but other than that shot, he's been SENSATIONAL! Watching him is a pleasure! Reminds me of Messi sometimes the way he's so fast, so smart, so skillful and also gets back up to his feet so quickly every time they knock him down. So far, from this HALF alone, you can make a nice compilation video of Eden's immense skills and running with the ball, quick little touches and chances created! A nice compilation from only 45 minutes of play!

If it wasn't for a few really great saves from the Trabzonspor GK who is having a great game and probably 2nd MoM right now, Lille would be winning this. With 45 minutes to go, there's still enough time to get the much needed victory.

And credit to Trabzonspor so far because although they haven't created much at all and being outplayed, they are very organized! Other teams would've been broken down by Lille's attacking prowess much more already I feel. But this team is organized and will probably be broken down and concede in 2nd half but at least they don't go down without a fight. :)

p.s. The LOSC crowd is REALLY loud! Never heard them this loud before. They're really enjoying this occasion and it's nice to see because next year they'll be in their new 50,000 stadium which is a LOT bigger but also maybe not as noisy.
 
Poor Ajax two perfectly valid goals ruled out...

If Basel loose their advantage, then Shaqiri has things to explain. Fantastic player who lacks vision or is too selfish (or both).

Shitty and United out, what a day for English football.

My preferred opponents for Bayern and the next stage are Basel, Lyon or Marseille. With a bit of luck, Leverkusen gets Benfica or Apoel, everything else would be very very tough for them.
