I forced myself to play as Specialist today as our team had too many support guys for me to be support. I found myself on a good mixed team as well. We had a few snipers off doing their own stuff a few demo guys and assault guys. A load of support people and 3 specialists.

I cant think of the name of the map we were on but the first gold crates are at the top of a hill with houses all around - 1 crate is open to air strikes and surrounded by metal fencing an the other is in a house near that. Our team took out the first 2 crates after a big battle and on the second crates i legged it down the side of the map, blew the back wall in with some C4... ran upstairs... knifed 3 people to death, threw all of my c4 down (2 team mates spawned on me and 1 threw his c4 down) amazingly he wasn't a noob and waited for us all to back off before he blew his and i blew mine taking the crate out in 1 go.

Easily the best attacking experience I've had so far.

We lost the round in the end anyway but that one attack made up for it all. Hopefully ill find more specialists like those today online because when they are awesomely powerful at taking crates out completely unnoticed.

My stats are rocketing up as well...

Recon seems to be my best class going on my stats... but I'm sure support is my best. I think its one of those where ive played a few games as recon, got lots of kills and then never played recon since so its giving me high stats.

When it works it can be awesome - when you enter a game and find your on a team full of noobs or full of snipers then it's shitty.

At a guess id say my ratio is something like

2% where your team just have no idea and the better players coming at you destroy everything in seconds and thrash your team in record time. Good if you're lucky enough to be on their team though lol.

10% shitty games with loads of useless snipers doing nothing to defend. When those end you just feel like throwing the pad at the tv and turning the console off as you curse the cocks who play the game like it was team death match.

35% awesome games where both teams are evenly matches and games go right to the last breath.

40% games that swing back and forth slightly in favour of one team over the other. For example on some maps its much easier to defend than attack so most of the time the defenders win as long as they're decent players. Attackers can win still.. but if you had 2 even teams then the defenders will win more often than not.. BUT this % is going down more and more as time goes on.

Deconstruction would be the best example - on launch the defending team NEARLY ALWAYS won this map but the last week I've been attacking on this map and noticed we've been able to get past the first 2 crates a lot easier than before.

But like I said originally... when it works its great. When your with cocks... not so great.

I'm still wondering what this Conquest mode is like... ive never played previous BF games other than the game on the 360.. modern combat? and that was only offline.

Ohhh just remembered. The players im bumping into online are the nicest people ive ever found on a game online. I've been team killed and then seconds later had a PM saying sorry and a little explanation like 'im sorry dude.... i panicked thinking you were about to knife me as a turned around and didn't have time to look and check out of you were a enemy or not'

People are also really generous with vehicles either stopping to let you get a ride or ive ran at a tank and seen someone else run at one and ive stopped and they've stopped as we've noticed each other as if to let the other one get in it.

There are some arse holes like the support classes who run away from you as your after a health pack - or the injured people who run away from you as you try to give them a health pack - the people who hog the artillery and are useless with it and finally the bad snipers who sit miles away from the action so you either spawn with them away from the crates or at the base away from the action :(

I love the game but it badly needs the BF2 comms buttons. The amount of times I've sat next to someone with 1% health waiting for them to throw me a medipack, or I've chased a tank for a mile trying to get a ride.

About the guys being nicer on this - I've been shot three times now by my own team because I was placing C4 by a doorway and they were in a mad hurry to get past. Why you would do that and take points off yourself I don't know... Some people eh.

Its true there needs to be something done about the communication with other team mates - Is that something that can be done in a patch?

They should be able to patch it so you can use pre set voice commands with presses of the D-Pad - but they've been asking for this since before the beta and the devs seem to have no desire for it at all.

Maybe with more people asking now they might look into it.

I've seen a few jack asses online - people who team kill to get past players in doorways sniping or those guys who shoot you so they can give you a health pack and get some points. I think people like that need to get their head checked out - if they're so angry and impatient that your in their way that they'll kill you... then there's something wrong with them.


I've read stories on gamefaqs on the ps3 version where people who TK the guy on the artillery so they can use it and then the killed guy spawns and gets revenge and repeats. I've read there are a load of dicks online playing but I've not been on the end of a dick so far... oh err... thats quote worthy.. i mean ive not been on the receiving end of a ... crikey that's worse... ive not faced any arse holes? .. nope... ive not found any players who are nob heads against me... think that's ok.

I did this on my first go on artillery, i was just sat there blasting away and the prick killed Me. when i respawned he was sat on it so i killed him and legged it.

I tk'd one guy on purpose the other day as he was basically playing to purposely fuck our team over. It was on End of the Line i think and when we were all running back to defend the 3rd crates... as i ran towards the first crate i saw him throwing C4 onto it and then detonating the stuff destroying our crate!!!!

I ran over firing my gun to get his attention and he knifed me to death. I respawned at the base and couldn't see the guy anywhere so i ran away playing as normal .. i died and this time i picked to spawn on a teammate - randomly i ended up next to captain nobhead who was stood miles away back where the first few crates are near the barn. God knows what he was doing here but the git had meant i would now have to run miles to get back to defend. As i turned to run i saw 2 more guys spawn on him who must have been as annoyed as i was.

So i stabbed the guy and shortly after we lost - i put him on my block list after that so i wont run into him again.



I really have no idea why some people buy games to play them like dick heads.

Another question :DD (I know its probably in the Booklet - But I'm at work and its bugging me!!)

When you go to the unlock weapon screen all the unlocked weapons are in white and the ones still to unlock are in Grey.

So there are the group of Guns/Weapons at the bottom that are all grey and need unlocking. Then there are the ones above that are in white and then the ones for 'Find all 5' and the special edition guns.

But there are a few guns in White when you start - But when you go into the screen to choose an Infantry - There is only one gun available?!

How do you get the other guns to use? (The guns that are white when you start playing online - before you have unlocked anything?)

I think I know what you mean - the top box of guns on the unlock srceen.. some of those are white and yet in game you dont seem to have acces to more than 2 or 3.

I've been wondering about that myself as well

they're the ones :DD

there are 3 on each infantry (Or what ever they are called) When you start - But I only can use 1 of the guns on each one.

Anybody know?

I was thinking maybe you get more guns as you rank up - but at the moment i can use the 2 guns ive unlocked and 1 other that ive had since the start.

Same here - Its weird how they are white though? - There must be a way of using them some how?!

BLOODY GAME PISSES ME OFF! How many times do you need to fill someone with lead before they die? Meanwhile they spin around because it's flashed up they're being shot, and shoot once or twice to kill you.

Pissing me right off. Getting into close combat is utterly pointless for me because of this.

Aim down the gun and you'll kill them A LOT quicker. I think shooting from the hip is useless in this game. Down the gun i have no trouble taking someone out - hip shots ... just a waste of time.

Aiming down the gun too, I guess my aiming is shite though.

The maps are quality, bloody HUGE! Very addictive game I must say.

Oh, and we really do need a button to ask for medical assistance.

Hmmm just froze my game up. It was showing me the results of the last game, I hit a few buttons trying to get out and the screen has froze :ROLL: In fact my whole PS3 has, no XMB or anything showing up.

Crazily addictive :LOL:

I do enjoy the sniper class, but I don't half panic when I'm trying to sneak around and someone runs up to me, I forget to change to my pistol :LOL:

Can I get some kind of ACOG for my assault rifles?

It is addictive.

you can't get any accesories for your guns.......At least I haven't come across any.

But certain guns you get have different sights etc.

Cheers for the advice chaps.

I'll use my next unlock points on some assault rifles since I seem to switch been assault and recon. Can't really get into the others.
