Battlefield : Bad Company Series

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I'm pretty sure they're not showing up on the radar when I spot them though.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Yeah i found that is very very hit and miss

at times i follow them with the Binoculars or something and it dosnt even say anything at all even though they are in my sights for quite a bit

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Yup i've had the problems as well - At times i'll assume even though i can see them clear as day in the distance they're just out of range for my character to announce he's seen them... but then i'll have someone right in front of me... a grenade throw distance away and think 'shouldn't it announce ive seen this guy now?'

I've no idea what constitutes spotting them and them appearing on the radar half the time. I've read keeping your gun aimed at the for a few seconds and shooting them will light them up on the radar. But both are hit and miss for me as well.

The artillery gun is also supposed to spot enemies as well and is extremely hit and miss. in the demo you could jump on the gun, point at the enemy tanks and they'd be announced as spotted right away. In the full game ive tried keeping my targets on them and firing at them and half the time nothing happens.

I've also had times where im running up a hill and it comes up

'KRadiation: Enemy tank spotted'
'KRadiation: Enemy spotted'
'KRadiation: Enemy tank spotted'
'KRadiation: Enemy spotted'

And i;m thinking... what the?

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

If you are anything like me, the online multiplayer of Battlefield Bad Company came as a complete surprise! After spending months running and gunning in Call of Duty 4, I suddenly found myself not knowing what to do. What was this Gold Rush? Why could I kill more people than anyone else in the game yet my team lost? Well don’t fear my fellow gamers. Here are 5 tips that will help you make an easy transition from COD4 to Battlefield Bad Company while improving your online multiplayer skills.

1. The game mode is Gold Rush not team death match. This means don’t worry about your Kill to death ratio. If you can do your job as either defender or attacker then it doesn’t matter if you die +20 times. For attacker, don’t be afraid to get in there and plant your charges, remember that your squad can spawn on you, so if you plant the charge you will have backup instantly. For defenders, Don’t try to charge the attackers spawn and spawn kill them, If your all at their base, then who’s going to defuse the bomb if the attackers plant it?

2. If you’re planning on using the helicopter, use the support class. That way if you take too much damage you can just land your chopper back at the base, use your power drill to repair it and fly off for another attack. If there’s another person in your chopper, try to hover above the enemy’s base; the little cannon that the passenger shoots can take out multiple enemies in 1 shot. To help out your friendly helicopters, make sure you destroy the AA canons. These are the choppers biggest threats. If they are gone, the tanks and support classes will be distracted trying to shoot the chopper out of the sky.

3. If you’re using the Tank, don’t be scared to Get behind enemy lines and distract the enemy while your team plants the bomb. The tanks are great for scaring away infantry or chasing them into hiding. If you see an untaken enemy tank, put a few shells in it (Don’t destroy it) you could be fighting these tanks if enemies hop aboard them and if you have the advantage of more health you will outgun them. If a sniper is targeting you with their laser designator, deploy your tanks smoke (RB) it will unload a screen of smoke, which will disorientate the laser designators signal therefore disabling them from locking onto you.

4. If you’re planning on going recon, try being a counter sniper only. Find a good shrubbery or building that is out of the direct action. Don’t bother shooting running infantry (unless you have a definite shot) Scan the area for enemy snipers, line up the headshot and take them out. When you are forced to change base, don’t rush to the next base. Instead, wait until all the soldiers have moved up, you’ll have less chance of being shot. If you suddenly get shot and have 10 health left, it means a sniper has wounded you but not killed you, Hide if this happens and be sure not to get spotted again.

5. Classes are more important than just the gun you chose. Each class has their own gadgets and specialty. Support isn’t about having a light machine gun, look on your radar for objects like tools or health signs, these indicate wounded team-mates and damaged vehicles. Go and repair or heal them, doing this can significantly help your team. If you're going specialist, use the tracer darts to tag enemy vehicles, it will trace them until they are destroyed. If a tank is traced, the demolitions class can basically have their rockets home the traced tank. You can basically aim the RPG in the general direction of the tank (even around corners) and it will heat seek the target and destroy it.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

From reading around, it seems you have to actually hit the enemy before he's announced as spotted.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Jonny are you going to be online tonight ? We can set up a squad of our own then and kick some arse together. 4 man squads as well so anyone have an extra friend we can use them too.

But everyone I purposefully spot, I just stare at for a few seconds with no shots fired, and it works fine.

I think shooting at them might help the spotting logic kick in, but it can't be a requirement.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I thought you got 2 unlock points everytime you rank up?

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

2?

I don't remember getting 2 unlocks at once?

I'm sure the levelling up system goes

unlock - no unlock - unlock - no unlock

And later on the distance between ranks gets larger and larger so make sure you unlock the best stuff first

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I got 2 points when I leveled up earlier. Apparantly you could use them for two weapons or one gadget.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

You had 2 points... and the gadget cost 2 points?

You've lost me... i thought everything cost 1 credit.

Are you sure you didn't level up twice while online without noticing?

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I'm pretty sure it cost me 2 points, I've seen someone else saying the gadgets cost them 2 points as well.

I know I had 2 points, I bought the recon gadget and my points were gone.

Everything cost one point - Thats what has hapened with me every time. and you get a point every other time you rank up.

what great games we had last night :) very much enjoyed it. you are brillient at this game always finishing first! i didn't do too bad either and Daz did a pretty decent job too. we worked great has a team. me being the support most of the time tossing you medic packs all teh time hehe. your pretty good with that rocket launcher and overal it was clear that we had the best squad in the game notching up over 1000 points between us.

great games last night and lookig forward to playing with u lot again, cheers

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Radiation, how the hell do you get so many points?! You're demolition, right?

Cheers for the medic packs Jonney :TU:

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

614 points was the best I had last night - that's pretty high for me although the best i've ever had was 801.

I read that the trophies and ribbons and bits you can achieve... If you happen to get any of those they add points onto your total... the better the achievement the more points. They don't add hundreds but im sure they add something. In the 614 game i got a few of those.

I also swap between classes depending on what's going on in the game - ill start as support every game but if we're being over run with tanks ill swap to demolition (Hit the correct bit of the back of the tank for an instant kill - im not sure which bit it is... i think that tube part? whatever that is) or specialist (so i can use the C4)

Not sure how i get points though - i dont really watch what im doing... i get a bunch of kills, ill heal a lot, ill try and disarm bombs or plant bombs... take out as many vehicles as possible.... Standing near the gold when defending and getting kills gives you an extra few points as a 'defender bonus' (i forgot about that in the post a few pages ago)

It comes down to my team mates though as well - if they're all decent enough then i find it much easier to play support and run around the map providing help where ever i see its needed. If everyone picks snipers then my points will take a hit as i run into the enemy base and try to do something and get battered.

I saw someone had 900 and something on Oasis last night just as we finished up!

Took some images last night but only 1 actually uploaded which pissed me off. One was amazing - someone had blown a hole in the bridge and a jeep and a tank both drove into the hole and got stuck vertically sticking up into the air... i saw about 3 of our team crowd around taking pics (i assume)

Another was when all 3 of us and another were in a jeep - it just looked cool.

Another was on oasis and i put c4 down and then blew it as a jeep drove over - the jeep blew and flew into the air.. i took the photo and nothings on the site.

Hopefully they'll appear after a while but i checked just now and only 1 pic from yesterday is there :(

Oh Yeah

Sorry about the team kills Dags. I think I got you about 4 times last night. I knifed you by accident as i was swinging my knife at the enemy in front of me. I mortar striked you in the monastery map - i was hiding next to the crate and spotted red dots near so i thought id mortar the area around me by aiming at my feet... (i was underground so it wouldnt hurt me) i did it and then after you died i thought ... cack someone was above me? --- but i had no blue dots on my radar near me at all!

And I shot you with the tank on Oasis - which was a heck of a shot - i was driving the tank and then i had the missile lock on thing flash... i looked around for a sniper and spotted someone in the distance moving.. so i fired a shell off hoping to scare them away and break their concentration on my tank and it hit and kill you!

I didn't know there was a sweet spot on tanks

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Is there, Coopz?

Radiation, I laughed so much everytime you killed me last night  The first time was funny anyway because I could see you were trying to get the other guy, really funny accident.

And the others were just crazy kills because they were accidental and I kept getting messages saying sorry

I had a medic by me, he threw me a medipac and healed me. Then I seen an enemy soldier run past us so I tried to knife him and caught the medic and killed him instead :lmao:

The knife is bollocks in this game, there's a delay of pressing the triangle key to him actually pulling it. And also you have to be within milimetres of the soldier to hit him.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Rad said something about shooting a rocket into the back of it

Yeah I've swung the knife at someone and been touching them almost and it's not connected and then they've span around and knifed me - and other times ive seen someone running at me swinging so right after their animation ends ive stepped forwards and swung back and suddenly died with it telling me they knifed me.

Tanks

It's hard to explain without pics (I'm on the PS3) but if you look at the back of the heavy tanks they have a grid/mesh part. It's either that part or the piece above it. i've fired loads of rockets at tanks and as they've drove away i've clipped the back of them and got an instant kill.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Got a dickhead on our team, Gabriel67er. SUPPOSED to be a medic but wouldn't give out any packs. So I'm dancing around him trying to get his attention, in the end he bloody TK'd me! Fucking prick.

Sent him a message saying exactly that and he replied in German so fuck knows what he said.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Haha... in that game i joined that you were in there was someone on my team who kept TKing people until he got booted out of the game - i sent him a message asking 'what the hell is wrong with you' and he replied that his HDtv is screwed up.

That game annoyed the hell out of me as well because i had to defend on 'Deconstruction' and the the next round started and i had been swapped over to the other side where i had to defend again!!!

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Well i have just had a few games on it and was pissed off throughout

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I wish people would defend crates properly and actually TRY to defend instead of treating it as a deathmatch.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Found this...

Strength of tank structure, in order of weakest to strongest:

- Roof

- Belly

- Rear

- Sides

- Front Hull

- Front Turret

Doesn't mention the one hit kill spot though :(

I'm 100% sure i've hit a tank on its arse and blown it up with 1 shot lots of times yet on gamefaqs there are people who say it's not possible and then you have others who say it is.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Pretty sure I've hit a tank once and blown it up, though I don't know if it suffered damage before then.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Yeah i bet its just fucked before you have shot it

pissed me off when i shoot 2 rockets at a tank then someone comes along and fires the last once that blows it up

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

We can have a try later on Dags - you join the attackers and ill join the defenders and you can jump in a tank and let me fire rockets at the tank and see if we can get a 1 hit kill.
