Battlefield : Bad Company Series

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

How can you choose a side? And how do I join a game you're in?

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

You can't pick sides - but lets say i'm in a game and my side has 7 players and the other side has 5 - if you join my game you'll join the other side.

To join my game - go into multiplayer - custom game - press squard to invite someone and as you highlight a name - if they are in a game already it will say 'join session press triangle'

Hit that and providing the game isnt full you're in.

When i did it earlier on your game i joined your side and i was in the same squad as you - but because we didnt create a squad and enter a game i was split up away from you and eventually put on the opposite side.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Nice, I wondered how you kept managing to get into my games

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Played a few games online now I have my PS3 set up, I think I should have either read the manual or played it once before I did, I could not get over 60 in the three games I played, I take it you can't zoom the sniper scope when it's up?

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

What's your PSN?

On the PS3 so far we have a 3 man squad of me (KRadiation) Dags (Dazimus) and JM (jonneymendoza) so we'll have to sort out a few games as a squad. Much easier to gain points when your with players you know won't be running around back to their own spawn team killing and chopping down trees for fun.

Dog Tag Lag 7/18/2008
We've been looking into the Dog Tag Lag issue.

We've been looking into the lag issue that some of you have been experiencing lately which specifically concerns the collection of Dog Tags.

Currently collecting either:
- more than 300 Dog Tags in total
or
- more than 100 unique Dog Tags

will result in users experiencing lag on their console.

Until we resolve the issue (no ETA yet, we're working on it) permanently we have decided to implement a temporary fix. This temporary fix will only trigger if you have reached either of the two Dog Tag limits mentioned above.

Should you reach one of the above limits then the temporary fix will be triggered and your number of collected Dog Tags will no longer increase. However: you will still gain points for the Dog Tag kill as you normally would.

We'll work on fixing this asap, but keep in mind it could be a little while.

We realize it's not the ideal situation, but don't worry, keep racking up those Dog Tag Kill Points!

Shite....

Dogtags Collected 167
Unique Dogtags Collected 100

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I've noticed you rack up points if you specifically help your squad mates too. So it'll be excellent if we get an established squad together where we know who tends to be a specific role and we can adjust our game accordingly.

Join our squad Nick :TU:

I'm a long way from those tags, I think I have 6

I find it too hard to get close enough to people to knife them, I ALWAYS get spotted!

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I'm going to have to start a 360 clan for this, it's a brilliant game. I don't think I've ever got over 300pts, but that doesn't stop me loving it.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I think I've only gotten to 200pts+ once or twice too.

I'm just a bit crap I think, I always seem to end up in the middle of a firefight, or get caught when I try creeping around.

Defence can be a nightmare on this game though. Hardly anyone rushes to defuse the crate! Had a situation last night where I legged it to a crate, got shot on the way and as I died, saw one of OUR team sitting FOUR feet away on the staircase waiting for someone to shoot! You'd think he'd get off his arse and defuse it, the lazy sod!

He was DEFINATELY our team as well. People just don't want to defend on this, they all play like a deathmatch and sprint to the attacking base and try to spawn-kill :censor:

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Games like that make you hate the game - but as soon as you get on a good squad all is forgiven. I always run to the crate to diffuse it and when i die and then see someone standing above it or next to it sniping or generally ignoring the crate it makes my head hurt.

I don't see how they're having fun basically throwing the game away and having it end early - surely they'd get more fun from getting rid of that bomb and then continuing to kill ?

Little trick for you all.

When disarming if you're nimble with your finger you can hold the disarm button - then you can move 360 degrees to look at anyone coming at you AND you can fire your gun or use your tools while still disarming... as long as you dont move or release the disarm button! VERY handy for if you are disarming and can see an enemy coming at you.

---

Random fun - martyr suicide style

Pick the specialist class, throw all of your C4 onto the front of the jeep then hop into it and speed towards the enemy - smash into anything you can like a tank and hop out and blow the C4 taking yourself and the tank out - or ride it to the crate and then hop out and blow your load.

Haha, nice and realistic that! "I'm so good at disarming bombs I can do it with one hand!"

Well if you're the support class - then you hold the gun with both hands ... so god knows what you're disarming the bomb with!

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Mr. Bauer, add my Gamertag next time you're on if you fancy a game. I've had this for about a week but not turned it on yet.

I should do sometime soon but it would be good to play with some people you know rather than the headless chicken people I mainly found populating the demo. :D

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Just got my first 300+ score I think :DD

Playing as demolition on the map which is really foggy and blue? Stood in a hut and shot people as they ran passed the hut trying to sneak around the back ;))

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

We need to get a 360 squad together

we have Me, Jay, Bobby, JB and Dar

all we need to do is be on at the same time :))

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

in the demo you could jump on the gun, point at the enemy tanks and they'd be announced as spotted right away. In the full game ive tried keeping my targets on them and firing at them and half the time nothing happens.

And i;m thinking... what the?

Interesting you mention this about the demo because I feel the same. In the demo I had no problems aiming at an enemy from a distance with a gun. The auto-aim feature was perfect and auto-locked sort of speak on the enemy which led to me killing hime with no problems from a good distance. In the full version I have a harder time aiming at someone and keeping my crossairs on him for a kill.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

The wait time between spawns really needs shortening, ESPECIALLY on defence. It's all good and well that an EA guy says to not worry about dying on defence as long as you keep the enemy occupied, but when you have such a long wait between spawns, it does kind of defeat the point of being a kamikaze just to keep someone distracted.

While you're keeping someone distracted and then waiting to respawn, the other eleven enemy soldiers are running through amok because the defence is one man down for so long.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

It stinks when you re spawn and immediately are killed by either a spawn camper or artillery strike or if you pick squad spawn just as you jump into the action that guy gets blasted from behind by someone who was just off camera and then they blast you.

I think if you spawn and die within a few seconds the respawn time should be shorter at least. On a few games i've noticed some elite dicks who have memorized the respawn points and will sit in the room with the gun pointing at the exact spot you appear on or will sit in a tank next to the spot firing over and over taking you out as soon as you appear. [ The GOD clan guys on the PS3 being an example]

Wouldn't be so bad if you had competent team mates out there to take those campers out but half the time they're all miles away from the spawn.

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I wanna know what guns these guys use that you can FILL them with ammo yet they're shooting you a few times. And it always seems to be the same people who do it, XFIVE at the moment is racking up a score as he seems invincible to any bullets.

:(( I have the same problem, how are they hacking already?

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I know the automatic shotgun can kill faster than most guns close up - I've started to unload a full round at someone just for them to fire a few shotgun blasts at me and take me out. The pistol also kills super fast for some stupid reason - but you'll only run into that if you stumble across a sniper somewhere.

The rate of fire though is the real deciding factor.

Check out the specialists weapons - i've seen A LOT of people racking up kills with those - and they're silenced so people cant tell where your shooting at them from.

I know the specialists guns have great damage but they're outclassed in rate of fire and accuracy by the assault... but then the specialist has the better rate of fire .. but the damage on their guns is low.

I've just been playing a couple of hours how do you see which games are playing and how do I find you guys? I should read the feckin manual...

Go into multiplayer from the main menu - pick sutom game - select to invite - then if someone else is in a game highlight their name and it will say 'join session' press triangle (PS3) and you'll join them BUT you might not be on the same side as your mate.

The best way to get on the same team and stick on the same squad is to invite your friends into your squad from the same menu. You can only invite 1 person at once... you just press Square to invite, pick their PSN and send the message.

to accept an invite you can go into the same menu and press the triangle button to check any pending invites.

-
We had some problems the other night inviting each other - i could invite dags into my game and he could invite me into his... but jonny couldnt get into my games and we couldnt get into his... but in the end we all got into dags game

Ah I read about silenced weapons!

Well, that swings things a bit. I was going to ask if anyone went a specialist because they seem a bit crap. The tracer gun seems a bit rubbish to me.

:TU: Will give it a go, my PC is 2 floors up from my PS3 so let me know when you guys are on...

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

Just unlocked the M16, the assault rifles are poo really and it seems the M16 has a bit more kick to it.

It's interesting how different roles suit different maps. The one where it's foggy and very blue-coloured is a nightmare for a sniper, yet Oasis is great for sniping and calling in tank-lasers-bombs-things :DD

Re: Battlefield : Bad Company

I love specialist but I find it's quite hard to play well with the class on most maps.

Their weapons seems to have a shite range, the tracer gun is great but only if you have demolition squads nearby - otherwise you tag the tank, give yourself away and get shot for nothing.

The C4 is great for laying traps - i love planting C4 in areas where tanks come through and then blowing them up with 1 hit kills - - or you throw the C4 onto a jeep and park it somewhere and then hop out and run and hide in a bush and then wait for the enemy to drive past it or jump in it and then you blow the C4.

I've started using Specialist to defend more as they take tanks out with 1 C4 and the C4 doesn't show up as easy as the mines do.

I sent Dags and JM a message last night asking if they wanted a game but got no reply  - It's a bit of a pain on the PS3 that there isn't a sort of constant reminder that you have received a message because if you're away having a dump and you get a message you have no idea until the next time you check your inbox.

If anyone is on this and fancies a game and im online just send me a message - if im on another game ill just swap the discs over no problem --- although if you see Wall-E being played that's the GF so I wont be able to jump on and play - not that she wouldn't let me but id feel bad kicking her off to play something myself.
