Arsenal Thread

What about Armand Traore?

A few seasons ago, he was second choice left back, remember him playing a lot in the Carling Cup.

How come he's fell so far down the pecking order?

Because he can't defend :P

He's ok, very quick, but he's always looked more like an offensive player IMO. He can dribble and run at people but his positioning is school boy at times. Most definitely the third choice LB behind Gibbs.

Gibbs is just like Cashley was when he was coming through. Slight, but dependable and quick.

EASy does it! Fab was fabulous! I know we had an easy group but nonetheless Champagne Football ....Almunia impressive stare as the ball strolls past him.He is the crack to our Empire we once had a keeper who made more cleansheets in the cl run until Almunia step up in the final. WE won`t lift anything w/ that Muppet in goal.

I thought that goal was due to bad defending rather than just Alumnia. The other defender should have cut across much sooner and close the attacker down and then there wouldn't have been a problem.

I like having a crazy goalkeeper :DD

Fair enough bobs I was right about Senderos and have the gut feeling about Drobby . At 4-0 you just knew Gallas and Veremealen were on a hunt to score from the corner. Lens just made a good run pushing Rasmey with ease but looked tire and took his chances and the ball just rolled into the bottom corner. The fact he just planted his foot the wrong direction he did even bother. He bothers to dive when the ball is right at him...I hope I`m wrong but I favored the Italian

remember when he dived under the ball's flight when trying to save Ronaldo's freekick in the CL Semi last season. I thought that should have been the end of him. Beaten at the near post from 40 yards.

Got to have a bit of love for Manuel, but he's not the best. Not a patch on Lemon, my personal favourite Arsenal goalkeeper.

Fabregas has been sensational this season, his passing has been pin perfect, and he has been a great leader. One of the best midfielders out there, without any doubt. The goal with Song -> Van Persie -> Fabregas -> Goal was just beautiful.

Top work Arsenal, hopefully this season you'll win something.

That's all I hope!
That goal was from Sagna's cross, I think. Something happened and Sagna really picked himself up. Has even learnt how to cross!

Well, Fab, what can I say? He's been just fantastic. If he carries on like that he will be awarded as EPL best player, which I think he is at this moment. I think this could be his big season! His improvement from last season is very noticeable and being only 22 means he will be even better :)

Even people who live next door to the emirates struggle to get tickets

Fletch is as honest as they come.

And Wenger has a history of complaining about teams or players "bullying" his pussycats, amazing considering how shit Arsenal's disciplinary record is under him.

Doesn't matter if he is honest or not.

He just plucks that out of the air when he gets a bad decision against him?! that doesn't mean he is correct does it?! It is not a fact, therefore him informing us of it, doesn't have anything to do with him lying or not?

Just because he is honest, doesn't mean he can just come out with shit like this. The ref could have given the decision for any number of reasons (Which he probably did).

Nobody can deny other teams would kick the living shit out of us when they couldn't play against us? Of course Wenger can comment on people kicking Arsenal players around, doesn't matter what our disciplinary record is. Alot of our disciplinary record came from reactions to how we were treated on the pitch and how refs didn't do anything about it :PP

Anyway, what Fletcher said just makes him look like a fool....a very bitter fool at that.

Not sure if Wenger's comments even made a difference but he's had some strange decisions go against him this season.

I do remember Moyes putting pressure on the ref before our semi-final against Everton and the ref turning down a stonewall penalty, so it wouldn't be the first time in recent memory that comments from other managers has affected us.

I don't think it's bitter, it sounds more like he is using the Wenger comment as a motivational tool.

This Fletcher bloke is the only tool in this whole issue. And him saying that is a motivation to Arsenal players! Can't wait for the 2nd game at the Emirates! :D

Fletcher should just keep his mouth shut. Man United had 5 minutes of 'Fergie Time' to score the equalizer but didn't! And I was even rooting so much for a United equalizer!

more like an excuse

We'll probably find out that the interview actually went:

Media piece of sh*t/Journalist: So Darren do you feel that Arsene Wengers comments may have led to harsher treatment this year?
Fletcher: 'I don't know, maybe, I just want to get on and get back to winning'

Headline: FLETCHER BLAMES WENGER FOR BIASED REFEREEING, Darren Fletcher has launched a SCATHING ATTACK on Arsene Wenger, accusing him of INFLUENCING OFFICIALS

I wouldn't read much into it.
