Arsenal Thread

I really like the new Arsenal kit. It's not THAT different from any in the past, which isn't a bad thing. :-)

Arsenal just need to buy two more proper centre defenders to give more depth and they look sorted to be honest and maybe another holding midefielder. But I cant see Wenger going for defenders, he isnt known for his purchases and really good defenders.

I'm very glad he's going. The fact he asked to leave also means we wont have to pay his ass that 80K sallary anymore. He'd have been like an anchor if he stayed - you gotta play him, but he's actually a decrease in quality. Lets face it, the old rock lost his pace and was getting burnt last season.

Time to get Salcido over here, enquire about Boulahrouz, check what Christian Chivu is doing these days, and Souleymane Diawara of Souchaux is an absolute rock in my football manager game. Scouting done, lets get some action.

Now to a more interesting question, how would you feel if we signed Christiano Ronaldo from ManU? I havent heard of us even being interested, but I'd love it! RVP and Ronaldo on the wings, are you kidding me? Thierry will be turn into a tap-in artist :D

New kit, big as you could want it:

How sad and unfair is that?

You'll find with most england fans they just follow whatever is said in the media and apdot it as their own opinion instead of thinkning for themseleves. Its so stupid how such a small thing has turned into a 21year old being a national hate figure, sad indeed it is. Just goes to show how many mindless people there are. I believe what ever happens in a match should stay there on the pitch unless someone has been assaulted maliciously or murdered. Such a thing like a referring decision not going someones way and a pplayer being blamed as the scapegoat is pathetic.People should look at themselves and what they are doing to someone when they are putting so much pressure and blame on the individual. PLus there are much worst injustices going on in the world maybe those people who are so quick to PLACE blame and hate should direct their anger some place else besides football where the sport is merely a game.

tbh I really have never liked Ronaldo, I hate him as much now as I ever did. I'm still not quite sure why Rooney hasn't been given any of the blame, I mean, look at Beckham. But you can say all you like how English people have made Ronaldo into a scapegoat but I don't believe it was English fans booing him yesterday or in the semi. Even the German's hate him. He's a twat and I really hope he comes back to England.

Ok what has Ronaldo done to you personally for you to hate him so much? If you ever met him by chance and he helped you with something on the street or stuck up for you in a situation which you both happened to be in, would you still have hate stirred up in you although you never ever met him before? Rooney isnt blamed cuz the english dont take any responsibility atalll. Even so I dont think it is even right to blame rooney. thats just looking for excuses again.Personally I think rooney got frustrated due to the amount of pressure and hype that was put on his shoulders aswell as the fact he had to play as lone striker and was totally isolated up front on his own and couldnt play the football he was use to playing. Plus,'Im wwith rooney's account on thinking he didnt intentionly mean to stamp on carvalho. Its a whole different debate that, but stillits silly and all to easy to point the blame at one person alone. As for the germany fans and french well they are stupid sheep too because Ronaldo didnt do anything to their country or players in the world cup. I guess due to the high media attention to the situation and ronaldo's face constantly on the front page of every paper as him being the reason for england's world cup exit, lead to a mass hysteria amongst the fans worldwide.

Ronaldo is just stupid, I mean after he did that little wink what else does he expect? He earns thousands of pounds a year and to be honest the abuse comes with the territory! Either deal with it or get out. Looks like he is going to run away though...says a lot about him that.

Maybe, just maybe people hated the fact that he was such a blatant cheat and that it's not a worldwide media conspiracy. He was one of the worst culprits and because he plays for a high profile team it got him noticed more.

As for why I hate him well I can only base it on the way he conducts himself on the pitch and for that I think he is a cretinous little cunt!

Ok so really and truely Henry also should be a hate figure then. Considering he dived and held his head like he got hit by a hammer when Puyol ran across him in the match with France vs Spain to win a free kick which france then took the lead in. What about that then? Im sure if it was against England it would probably be the case.

Im not condoning what Ronaldo did, but it was such a small thing it should be forgotten about, left on the pitch. His home and personal life shouldnt be made an target merely because such a petty incident happend on the pitch where he apprantly he 'cheated' the ref into sending Rooney off even though for the record the referree has come out and said he was going to send the boy off regardless of the protests. No referee goes about their business listening to players protest and only then give out their decision. Unless they have been bribed, its pretty stupid to think like that

Ronaldo is running away mate and there ain't a thing you can do about it

Are you seriously comparing Henry to Ronaldo!? Thats fucked up. The reason there was such an up roar when Henry did it was because its so out of character for him. Everyone knows he is as honest as the day is long but he is not perfect. I put it down to a bit of afters from Paris. Puyol kicked Henry all around the Stade de France, maybe Thierry got a bit of revenge there, not that I am condoning it mind!

Ronaldo stated he was telling the ref that it was a foul on Carvalho, the ref had already blown the whistle indicating this so why get involved? He then winked at the bench is if to say "job done". I for one hope he stays in the England cos he is a cheating cunt and I want to tell him so!

We are being linked with Curtis Davies again. Whilst he is good young player I feel we need a bit experience back there. We are left with Toure, Big Phil, Djourou and Cygan. Whilst Djourou looks a good prospect thats all he is at the moment and Cygan will play minimal games at best. Now that the immovable object that is Campbell has gone, Toure is the most experienced player who will play regularly at Centre Back. If I were Wenger, I would be persuading Cannarvo that a move to the Premiership would be good for him at this stage of his career! Especially if Juve are relegated which is looking likely.

We are also being linked again with Ribery, Buffon, Yaya Toure and Appiah. I would like to see Ribery, but I don't see why we need Buffon. Jens is class.

Yeah but Jens is also 37 and Buffon is 28. We really need a long term option there and to me Buffon is class, a little but of a puncher when a catch is on but still an immense shot stopper.

Completely agree about Cannavaro I would love to see him at the Emirates. Not too sure about Ribery as he doesn't seem to have that final ball but I'm sure AW would get him there if we were to sign him.

I just hope some of these players actually sign cause if they do we will be putting together a pretty decent squad for the upcoming season.

Ribery would be a great signing for you guys, think he'd fit in well too. Certainly no language barrier ;) But he's fast, direct and good on the ground, certainly would play to your strengths. Plus you're going to need some wingers now that you've got a full sized pitch (hehe, sorry, one too many digs in this post).

i always thought we needed a winger coz Pires gone, there was rumours on ljunberg leaving, ubt dont think so now, but will wenger shell out 10m for ribery, which i think Marseille wud want more for him, and as for Appiah, wud definalty add depth to our squad, but wud him or Gilberto be happy being rotated, and how much wud fenerbache want for Appiah, and saw articles about Cygan wanted by French teams and Blackburn,if he goes, we'll need 1 quality defender, and a back up/youngster, i see Djourou playing a few this season and doing well, and whats ur thoughts on Saviola guys?

Saviola is a very good centre forward. he likes to drop deep as well and set up goals, and he played with Adebayor for AS Monaco a few years back so we already have a partner ship there already.

Its all rumours at the moment, we get linked with everyone anyway!

I think we need an experienced centre-back, a central midfielder (DM) to replace Diaby, a support striker (Saviola?).

In my opinion, it will be DM (Appiah) though he was shite at juve, but had a good WC. Yaya hates Wenger, so f*ck that move straight away. Mascherano is with Corinthians, and if he goes anywhere, he will go Inter.

On strikers, not sure, as we'll have:

Henry, Adebayor, Van Persie, Reyes, Theo and Aliadiere.

I think wenger won't give Aliadiere his chance, and he will move on. I think Saviola is too similar to Van Persie. We need a point man. Man who sits in the box.

We need a CB. I wanted Osorio, but he's gone to Stuttgart. I liked Ayala, but he won't leave spain, and is getting on a bit. Cannavaro will prob follow Capello to Real with Emerson and Zambrotta. Salcido has been linked, but he's a SB i think.
