He is a humble dude, used to see him all the time with his mates, just eating in nandos and places like that, no flash about him, real cool kid, he's got a couple of older brothers who are just the same.

yh shit for 88minutes .... That Belgium team caught us w/ our pants down. Once they replace their number (10) it was foolish. Lucky lucky Arsenal !! that (10) of theirs looks good.

Podolski made hands on that last goal. Not when he scored, but when he took the ball before Defour at the beginning of that action. Belgian television showed it clearly.
Anyway, Anderlecht had to blame themselves. When gibbs scored they should have been 3-0 up. Not talking your chances is also a lack of quality.

They could have scored 2-nil surely but the problem was that their right back (the bald one) isn't very good at football. The way he struck that ball, I'd say it was flattering that it even hit the post

I think these last performances both in the Premier League and CL (and why not the League Cup exit at the hands of the good Southampton team) should lit up some sort of alert signs at Arsenal. The team isn't playing well, our defending is suspect to say the least (especially with a makeshift defense) and our attacking play is too predictable and easy to mark.
Just because we snatched all 3 points in the end it doesn't mean all is well. We have to remember that with the loss we would stay at 3 points in this CL group (or at 4 with the draw), which would leave us 5 or 6 points adrift from group leaders Dortmund.

We've been scraping through to get 2nd place in our group every season and that is a problem in itself, because we probably get Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern and exit at the Last 16. It pisses me off seeing the same patterns repeating themselves.

And that includes our injury problems. Not to justify our poor performances of late, but the players we have sidelined with injury can almost make up a good starting 11 lineup:

------------Ospina----------------
Debuchy----Koscielny---N/A---N/A--
---------(Arteta?*)---------------
-------Diaby----------------------
----------------Özil--------------
---Walcott---------------Gnabry---
-----------Giroud (and Sanogo)----

*I'm not sure if Arteta was suspended or injured yesterday.

Some things seem to never change, and this perenial injury crisis at Arsenal is one of them. Is it too early to expect an impact from Shad Forsythe in the medical team? Should we wait another season to judge?

The fact is that things keep repeating and Wenger knowing pretty well how it goes, still chooses to leave us so short on defense.
It's becoming more and more difficult to defend Wenger's madness, because the problems stem from inside the club mostly. Yes, we know sugar daddy clubs outspend us comprehensively every year, our players are too injury prone, our season aways collapses at some point, etc. But what has been done to address our internal problems. Not much from what I can see.

So Koscielny expected to miss the Sunderland match, too. Really hope Wenger replaces Monreal with Chambers in the middle, with Bellerin to start at the full back position.

Vandenborre (the right back) is a very good player (but with poor off the field attitude).
He was injured at the WC against South Korea and only played his second match. Anyway, on till the next one.

EVERYBODY played SHAMBOLIC ! FFS! Only Sanchez ran endlessly 200% !!!!! only reason we scored 2 goals was Sanchez n his pressure cooker methods . Santi missed not (1) but (2) 5yrds out alone No pressure! sitters. I saw a bunch of huffnpuff gave away passes over n over again. How , we got a clean sheet ? it was S'land :CURSE:

No doubt the team is playing shite right now. We look really weak. Our attacking play is too obvious, no fast transitions, uneffective counter attacks...

We only scored 2-0 because Brown and Manonne gifted us goals, that says it all.

Great performance today, but let's not forget it's against the weakest PL team. This should not be a measure of comparison. The problems are still there and reinforcements are needed for January.

Sanchez is awesome and the reason I tune into arsenal games. Glad he got to chance to be the lead man and show his true potential instead of playing second fiddle. Surprised he won that match of the day poll by such a large margin over Hazard though.

I'm half watching the match here. Just caught that Anderlecht goal. I do wonder what the fuck those assistants are doing there. Appalling stuff. Keep it up, UEFA.

Ough, that is a great come back. And that without the most important player (Defour).

First goal was off-side, but i can see where the assistants doubted. It wasn't very clear if Vandenborre was before or behind the ball. After the replays it seems he was before the ball, but that was only clear incthe replay.

But let's not forget that this avery young team with some teenagers. Great result for Anderlecht.

Another shambolic performance. I have yet to see a match where we played well for 90 minutes. The only consistent player we have is Alexis and maybe Chambers. Arteta was ridiculously bad, so many misplaced passes.

Yet again a second finish and then to go out against a team like Bayern or Real. That's what we finish fourth for every season, isn't it?
