Arsenal Thread

Great. Koscielny was sent back to London with chronic Achilles problems. Ain't that just great? Right in the position where we have most cover :COAT:

This bit here from Arsenblog sums up our situation (of Wenger's own making):

Wenger, surely, is smart enough to notice that starting the league with Koscielny, Mertesacker, Debuchy, Nacho, Gibbs, Chambers would not cut it. So why not sign a third stopper?

Happy Birthday TSO! :APPLAUD:

So my plan to hijack the Arsenal thread was a great sucess (in Borat's words) and by doing so you stopped moaning about Wenger.

So, Koscielny out for the weekend. I assume Bellerin will start again.

edit: oh god, just forgot that Chambers is suspended, so who will start next Mertesacker, Monreal?

Monreal it is. Gibbs is fit isn't he? I thought I saw him playing for England. But if he isn't, then Ospina for left back :COAT:

EDIT: actually, Flamini for left back as he did in 2006? After all, age hasn't slowed him down one bit (and I'm imagining him saying with that thick French accent 'kept you waiting, huh?')

------------Sczc----------------------
Bellerin---Mert---Monreal---Gibbs/Flam
---------Flam/Arteta------------------
------Jack------Santi-----------------
--Alexis--------------Ox/Poldi--------

Yes Gibbs is fit. By the way, Ospina is injured too, so he couldn't have played either.

Arteta is still injured too, so I'm guessing something like this:

--------------------Szczesny----------------------
Bellerín---Mertesacker---Monreal/Hayden---Gibbs---
---------------------Flamini----------------------
----------------------------Wilshere--------------
--Alexis------------Cazorla--------Ox/Poldi-------
--------------------------Welbz-------------------

Arsenal team to play Hull: Szczesny, Bellerin, Mertesacker, Monreal, Gibbs, Flamini, Wilshere, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Cazorla, Alexis, Welbeck

Arsenal subs: Martinez, Ajayi, Coquelin, Arteta, Rosicky, Ramsey, Campbell

Surprise to see Rambo back. :)

Podolski is ill.

what, with the saints playing like this!!??

and west ham and hull result pending are worthy of their current position.

7 mins of whinger time and its a draw, Danny getting the equalizer.

Doubt Soton will have the squad to stay in there, but Arse and Pool are probably dropping too many points given that they, esp. Arse, are unlikely to make up the difference against the other teams in and around the top.
Utd have dropped points against 'poor' opposition but, I think, the likes of Di Maria/Falcao could nick points for Utd in the bigger games.

could be the season to finally break the top four as we know it, Utd not making it last season was a first, but would be good to see a less fashionable club up there.

Soton are the story of the season so far, letting their best coach in years leave and shifting most of the squad to liverpool, I think alot of people (not the prophet Godotelli) predicted hard times...

What a sad uninspired afternoon from an Arsenal point of view. Clear foul on Flamini for their first goal, truth be told.

But the team was overall poor and devoid of ideas. The only thing that made it worth our while was watching Alexis. That boy can play! And he doesn't shy away from anything, always leaves 100%.

Dare I say Alexis Sanchez might be the best signing Arsenal made in the last 10 years or more.

Not me.
That's around 100m

They can build a better team with that by buying better and cheaper foreign lads

:SMUG:

So, off-topic but, Rentboy, do you happen to be a Metal Gear Solid fan as well? :D
