Guys, don't get your hopes up too much lol. Galatasaray are terrible right now. All their players are out of form, and their two last minute transfers, Pandev and Dzemaili, are still closed box and yet to contribute to the team. 3-0 is expected. Just saying so that we don't start taking this game as a baseline.

I am happy that we are winning the game convincingly, I don't think anybody in their right minds think we are beating one of the best teams in the world.

Lets enjoy the result for what it is (so far, hopefully it doesn't fall apart) and hope we can gel and play well against Chelsea.

But the more goals Welbeck and Alexis score the better for their confidence and the team.
 
Melo at CB and Snieder DM was strange. I think Cazorla is making a case to play in the deep lying role. Melo always makes those horrid (2) footed tackles. The ref is too lienent !!! he lets everything go unnotice.

Wenger did the right thing IMO using Cazorla and Ozil in the middle, and Sanchez and Ox as wingers. This is more like it.

Cazorla's position wasn't optimal though, this is a bit too defensive a role for him.
Flamini is starting to get more and more exposed as the free agent in his thirties that came to us. Last season he was great for us, but everybody knew he wasn't a long term solution.
If we wanna have Cazorla and Ozil playing through the middle without getting too much punishment, we needed a more solid DMF.

Good, much needed win though. Let's bask in this result for now :)

Ozil is playing better and better, Welbeck is scoring and so to Alexis. Our attack is looking to gel more and more, also with Cazorla.

Now probably the biggest test in the league, Chelsea away. If we get humiliated again, it is back to square one.

I just hope we play well and give it a good go.

Cazorla inches away for a 5th goal. That pass from Jack was woeful, a simple ball on the ground w'd suffice . Sczency what a pleb winning 4 nil he does that daft lunge!!!!


Now, we face Anderlecht back 2 back . I hope its 6pts;) then Bor Dortmund comes to us .

I hope we sit our arses down a bit to do some actual defending against Chelsea. Our fullbacks were schooled last time around, I hope Wenger has new instructions this time around. Also more protection in front of the defense.

I agree we must prevent a trashing at all costs there.
 
Well today Anderlecht didn't stand a chance against a very werkende Dortmund (have to say that a perfectly valid Anderlecht goal was disallowed when it was 0-1). Anderlecht has the youngest team ever in the CL and with Tielemans, the youngest player ever.
 
A plague in all their houses for them Gala fans! They did fine at the Emirates Cup , but they became contaminate and vile lots. I hope when we visit we won't resort to that animalistic behaviour .
 
And by now Arsenal should be with 9 on the pitch, a second yellow for Chambers for that foul on Schurrle. What a coladrinkers of a referee.
 
Chambers gets a yellow for Hazard running across him whereas Cahill steams into Sanchez studs up and gets the same punishment

Football is a nonsense at times

Don't agree with your first point. I missend that chill charge, but saw it afterwards. Wassalon a straight red.

But Koscielny not getting a red card is the biggest nonsense of all.

Very bad day at the office for Atkinson.

Wenger behaves like an idiot and of course Mourinho IS an idiot.
 
Doesn't matter anyway the best team won and we looked toothless once again away from home against a big team.
 
Özil cannot play down the wing, it's simply horrible to see.
Wenger needs to seriously think about changing the system because as far as I've seen Arsenal games, Wilshere seemed to be your best player in almost everygame and I think that's why Özil can't play as a 10.

About the challenges, Cahill and Welbeck should both have been sent off but I totally disagree about Koscielny's fault : the rule (and I hate this one) says that the LAST defender gets a red card, Gibbs was there.

I think that this rule should change for penalties, unless it's a really bad challenge, every fault inside the penalty area should only be yellow carded.
 
Chelsea are simply the best team in the league atm..the understanding of Cesc and Costa is similar to Gerrard-Torres partnership...

Hazard is BY MILE the best player in PL with Di Maria... he is phenomenal.

Chelsea are the team to beat this season.

what happend to Ozil spark? he seems like "WTF am i doing here" all the time..
 
With the ball Arsenal try and score the beautiful goal all the time and don't shoot enough. Without the ball they're too soft and easy to play against. They're always trying to nick the ball instead of being aggressive.

You can get away with it at home but not away.

Non of this is anything new. It has been the case pretty much since Vieira left

Wilshere played quite well all things considered. He was the only Arsenal player with any drive

Hazard is good but he's overrated. He goes missing a lot too, much like Özil.

Another piss poor performance. We looked decent at times but with a real killer instinct we could've atleast gotten a point today. It's really making me sick to see this week after week. Arsène needs to re-evaluate his tactics in my opinion.
 
Hazard is not consistent enough , but he's a good player nonetheless I like Sturridge better. I really hate Chelsea w/ a pinch of salt. And to Cesc no , not everybody loves you lol. We seriously lack that player in the middle to break up plays. Flamingo is a consolation player at best .
 
I think it's more due to Fabregas' celebration against Schalke.

He's a closed book for me anyway. Some people are saying Wenger was dumb for not bringing him back, but it would've been ridiculous to just give up on Özil after one season.

Cesc is a close chapter for most of the Arsenal fans. He bought his contract out to transfer out of Arsenal. Why buy someone back from that?

Koscielny foul never a red. Not when the other Arsenal defenders were beside Hazard. To say he was the last man is really pushing it.

Everybody seems to be forgetting that Cesc blocked a Wilshere shot inside the penalty area? We had a clear penalty not given, I can't see how you try to twist it and make it look like Arsenal were benefited?

The Chambers booking was ridiculous in light of what Oscar had been doing all afternoon long. Double standards for the home team, that's what I saw.

Anyway, it doesn't change the fact that we weren't good enough to win at their turf. The same old, same old problems made us look toothless out there. It becomes clear this is down to the manager, not the players.
Having said that, Özil looks more and more spineless. He started the match really well with the ball under his possession, he's clearly another beast when playing AMF. But after a while he was shifted to the flank and started looking shit again. Not to mention his lack of work rate (an extreme opposite to the hard working Alexis Sanchez).

The only thing to take heart from, as Mertesacker said, was an improvement defensively. To put it another way, the team didn't behave in a suicidal way against them, and that is something. Wenger needed to understand that against the big clubs he can't go all guns blazing. Now we need to ajust the other part of our game: the sharpness in front of goal, the killer instinct, the ability to resolve our attacking play in faster, less predictable ways.

Wenger lost his cool with Mourinho, I was a bit disappointed with that and even fear the Premier League will hand him a touchline ban. Platini would love it :P
