Arsenal Thread

Oh, mate, they're just amazing now!

Hulk, though in the beginning he couldn't quite fit into the game of team, but now every game he shows more and more what he's a great player, both in terms of the individual, and team. It is undoubtedly one of the leaders of our club. Many football fans even began to talk about the dependence of Zenit from this player ... Well, truth in that there is. :P

Arshavin, well, this is the case when people say that talent is not lost, Arshavin certainly also in good order, no, even more, he experiences a second youth! I think you will not believe me, but in Zenit, he also become one of the leaders of the team, he plays full 90 minutes, fights and intensifies attack, in short doing everything as then, when he only came to Arsenal. In short, he is trying very hard and brings a lot of good to the team. I think if Wenger used it correctly, then Arshavin certainly would have brought a lot of good for your club.

Well, once again good luck to your club in EPL and in Champions League, there we can meet you, I think, Arshavin will be happy to hit the gate of his old club. :D

Ah yes, I'd prefer if Arshavin didn't score against Arsenal, but if he ever does I'm sure he'd love to put his finger on his lips
Well, I'm happy to hear. The talent is definitely still there.

As for Hulk, I don't know if he is worth all that money but he's one hell of a player, with a left foot like a weapon of mass destruction! haha
He is somewhat underrated in Brazil, but good thing that Big Phil trusts him.

On a side note, I read quotes of Jurgen Klopp saying great things of Wenger and that he's very similar. Add to this the fact that both are very friendly to each other, then I think it makes sense that Klopp is the main candidate to replace Wenger when he chooses to hang his... erm, rain coat.

Like Moyes, Klopp is the next man in line for wenger. Klopp already has secured a job at the emirates just liek moyes already knew years ago he is next in line at united

Would Klopp want to come to us though? He has a better team (Arguably) in a league that is becoming stronger and stronger?

You make us sound like a huge club and can get Klopp at anytime when the time suits.

Maybe when the time comes when Wenger leaves (I hope not soon) and Klopp wants a different challenge then maybe. But by that time his stock could be even higher and he could manage an even bigger club than us. There will be lots of clubs after him.....if he continues what he is doing :))

Klopp just signed a contract until 2018 with Dortmund.
Yesterday there was a long interview with him on the website of The Guardian. You guys should read it.
In that interview he formally says that he will honour his new contract until the very end.
I also understand from that interview that although Klopp has massive respect for Wenger and Arsenal, he prefers another playing style than Arsènal's.
If i remember well he compares Arsenal's playing style with classical music, but says that he himself likes heavy metal...
He also talks about Barcelona and their playing style (similar to Arsènal's). He has respect for Barcelona, but he says if the current Barcelona team would have played when he was a child, he would never have played football, but tennis...

It will be a little sorry for me when Wenger will leave the post of head coach of Arsenal, for me it will end epoch, He is the only coach whom I've seen at the helm of this club (Venger came in 1996 - I was born in 1995). :D Well, time really flies ...

My son was born in 1995  What am I doing in these forums FFS!! I hope my son never finds this forum  I will have to explain something's . I hope living at the Universary buy me some time :P

We have no ways of knowing this :)
If Klopp starts a dynasty there and wins lots of stuff through the years, competing head to head with Bayern for everything, then maybe he would prefer to stay.

The truth is Dortmund right now is an excellent club with great results, but they returned to the Champions League only a few seasons ago. While Arsenal, as we all know, have been in it for the past 17 years or so.
Dortmund has excellent results (better results than ours lately in Europe) but they haven't been as consistent through the years. They even won the CL in 1997, but they spent a long period struggling in the 2000s.

I think Wenger set himself up with a fantastic structure, and this will be his legacy - his successor, whenever it happens and whoever he is, will inherit it. A 60,000 seater stadium with the high prices they charge for tickets, plus the new sponsorship contracts and TV deals - that's impressive financial muscle. Not to mention the training facilities and everything Wenger made happen.

All I know is that Arsenal would offer a great platform for a guy like Klopp. Wenger will pen a new deal too, you know. Maybe until 2018 too :)

Wenger will inevitably go one day, and there's no other guy I'd like more than Jurgen Klopp for the job. But you may be right, there could be higher bidders for him, or he may never choose to leave. But I'd say his friendly attitude towards Arsenal is maybe one sign.

Gerd, I saw bits of his interview. He says Wenger's style is great, but silent music, while he's more like heavy metal. Haha, I loved that quote!

Klopp n his Barça comparison is just a dig at Pep's Munich. He just used Arsenal to say he prefer them over others . Klopp won't join Arsenal n as much as I rate him I don't want him at The Arsenal. He's Borussia through n through.

Looks like the pl is back w a vengeance in the cl..except for utd..*grumbles*

Anyhoo..didnt see your game today but even a small victory in front of that wall of yellow is impressive

Excellent result. Sometimes you have to setup shop and be patient and Arse did that.

If you beat Utd on sunday I might have to reconsider my view of Arse's chances this season

Great job Arsenal. The german cheaters were punished for what they did to Malaga last year, winning with disgusting referee help.

Just one chance from Arsenal, just one goal. Causing more pain to the rich germans, who thought the refs and Platini would always help them. If Dortmund beat Napoli, then Marseille will rescue them in the last fixture, since they will surely leave them win, just as Dortmund did 2 years ago when Olympiacos won against Arsenal but Marseille overturned 2-0 to 2-3 in the last 5 minutes in Germany, a result clearly fixed, just as Zagreb 1-7 Lyon (it was on the same day).

I hope Napoli will be strong and will not lose against Dortmund+refs and so Dortmund will be disqualified.

We did it! I knew the boys could pull it off! :)

It was really hard, we got nowhere near their goal until 10-15 min in the 2nd half, when Ramsey scored with the header.
Aaron Ramsey, how does he do that? He scored more goals so far this season than in his whole career
Hope it continues for a long time, and that he makes United his next victim!

Great win for Arsenal, congratulations...
It's a shame that Dortmund, Arsenal or Napoli have to play the Euro League: 3 splendid teams. Personally i'm horrified because my favourite team plays in the Euro League...

I also hope Arsenal beat United next weekend. Not that i really want to see United lose, but it would be nice to see Arsenal as title contenders. The club and it's manager deserve that.

The fans in this thread too.

Apparently there is a bug going around the team and some players aren't 100% that is all we need

EDIT: Merts out, big test for Vermaelen, great chance for him to try and get his place back in the team. Rosicky out as well and Arteta, Gnabry both sick but able to play.

WHY TODAY????!!!

I bet our players playing today were just as sick , just capable of playing :COAT:

There is some mental blockage in this team, that they apparently cannot beat Man Utd. And their players know it and smell the blood like predators.
If the name Man united was replaced by Fulham, they could have won it.

United was defensively sound but nothing more than average. They scored on a single chance when Judas was able to hit the most fortunate of headers.

Having said that, our team was shit in the 1st half and then much much better in the 2nd. Ozil finally woke up in the 2nd. But there was not enough quality interplay and, as usual, we lacked objectivity.
I can accept sometimes the players have a bad day, the team didn't play very well. But it serves no purpose to pass the ball for ages in the attacking half only to get dispossessed without firing a shot on goal - too much build up, not enough end product. What I've been saying for ages. Sorry if I'm a broken record here, but that's my main complaint with Wenger's philosophy. Because when the game enters the 80th minute mark, the team suddenly realises time is running out and start trying to be more direct, but it can be too late, as it was today.

Introducing Bendtner in the late stages of the game did sweet f*ck all too, so we're desperately in need of striker options. Especially if you consider how we played an unmotivated striker who has no future in the club and has hit out at the club recently in an interview - what sense of timing, Mr. Bendtner!

We need to vary more our attacking threats. This team currently relies too much on the right flank. Damn, Sagna was delivering delicious crosses with which no one could connect. But it seemed to be the only offensive outlet!

It's very little to show if we are to be real contenders.
But overall the team was much more composed and sound at the back than in previous years, so let's take it and move on, not the end of the world and still top of the league.
