Arsenal Thread

Once again what a performance by Ramsey! Play the boy as a midfielder and there you go. Let's hope Wenger stops his crazy experiments with him.

He's been a box to box type of midfielder in this role. That 2nd goal was exquisite, what a great finish!

PS: two celebrities to die in the next few days. I'm glad I'm not famous :D

We are bombing Syria soon  Ramsey started a war!

Flamini is back, not the signing we all wanted. But I think it is a good signing none the less and strengthens us. I look forward to seeing him play.

Jesus, it's on a par with some of the Man City groups. Pretty rotten luck to get a group like that as 1st seeds, still I suppose it could have been worse, you could have had PSG instead of Marseilles as the pot 2 team.

Very tough group. This will really test this Arsenal squad. If Wenger doesn't use these next 4 days to strengthen we could be considered a 3rd force in this group! Am I exaggerating?

As the arsenal team stands, 3rd would be a good finish for arsenal, considering dortmund and napoli have spent fairly this transfer, although i would never rule out marseille giving use a game. also with news that podolski is out for almost 10 weeks, someone has to come in now surely

Arsenal are never good enough...we won't get into top 4. We won't qualify against Udinese and Fener. It's always negative against Arsenal . The worse thing is having a manager that does want to bring players , because it hurt the growth of his beloved young future prospect.

Oh well, 4 days left '0' spent!!

It doesn't matter anyway. The club is sitting on a massive heap of cash of around 180m pounds and strengthens the squad with 2 freebies. In the Premier League, the other 19 clubs spent money and brought players more or less equivalent to their calibre. Not Arsenal.

And today I'm greeted with this piece of news:
http://news.arseblog.com/2013/08/wenger-bendtner-could-stay-and-play/

So what was the plan for this season in the first place? Was there a plan or more like making it up as we go along?

We need a new striker, but it's difficult to get one now, so mmmmm.... Hey, why not give Nicklas another chance? Yeap, he will be like a new signing. Another £0 "transfer".

Really Wenger, seriously??

And then worryingly he says in his press conference that, yes, he's after new players because Arteta, Podoslki and Ox are injured. So, had they been fit, no need for new signings I guess?

Wenger also admitted he could be after a new keeper. But by our current standards, if Alex Manninger crosses paths with someone at Arsenal, he could be our man.

Seriously WTF is up at this club?

If the financial report says Kroenke doesn't take dividends from the club, and Gazidis says the manager has a huge load of money to invest in the squad... then the buck stops with Wenger.

To me, it seems like he's clearly uncomfortable dealing with the transfer fees we see nowadays. His mind still operates with transfer fees circa 2001.

What we see is that he is struggling to operate and perform at the level he was expected to.
To throw around £10m bids for the likes of Cabaye won't make anything happen. Regardless of the value of the player we know an English club won't sell to another English club for that price. What does happen is that we found our Cabaye in Flamini.

By now we could have been with our squad 100% defined, since there are no sagas with any of our players wanting to go. The manager and his staff could have had their minds set only in our games.
Instead, now we go into a North London derby with the massive distractions of last minute deals to be made - in the deadline day which will be one day after the derby.

Arsenal has gone and made a complete mess of a summer that should have been really smooth.

Let me put your pain at ease. Wenger says all sorts of things like a rambling old man . He said Gervinho is a top player and most valuable at the ACN . He says about Bendtner just to have a good atmosphere at the club. He sold Gervinho n will cut off Bendtner w/ o hesitation . We need players just to train

Now , the real worries are he bought Cazorla in a surprise situation I think Wenger believes every end of the window a surprise deal can stirrup at of nothing. We saw Spurs getting a few in VDV n Lloris if not mistaken. Yesterday Kaka spoke about leaving n finding a new club before the window closes. Although Kaka is not the sort we need , but it fuels Wenger's belief . Wenger will buy , but it won't shape the squad. We are screwed and hope the players we have can step up this season. Maybe it's the end of Wenger and 4th spot won't be good enough any more. At least he leaves the club financially healthy .

Kaka is way past it. He couldn't possibly cope with the rigours of Premiership. He might just go back to Brazil.

Wenger says things like a rambling old man and he's surely been running the club like one too.

I still find it hard to believe that as it stands, with 3 days left til deadline, he shipped out over a dozen of senior players (clearing a massive wage bill in the process) and brought only 2 players on free transfers. This is unbelievable.

Zero pounds spent on fees and we sold Gervinho for 8m and Mannone for 2m. What Arsenal is doing so far is to add 10m pounds to the bank account. After all that rubbish Gazidis fed us.

I'll be seriously pissed off if things stay that way and they give Wenger a contract renewal at the end of the season (regardless of him dragging us over the line placed 4th or if we tragically miss out on the CL spots).

I love the man for everything he's done and admire his coaching and his ability to instill his pattern and style of play with almost any group of players. And admire him for being a man of principle and wanting to do things the right way and most of all, play the game in the right way.

But I think now it's time the board extend their hands and thank him for everything he's done and maybe even offer him a Chairman position - but not a contract renewal, that's enough. When we see the figures being spent (and how there's no sign of this trend stopping, regardless of that joke called FFP), I get more and more convinced he's not the man for the job. He seems too outdated when it comes to the transfer market, not to mention tactics wise. I think Arsenal should move forward and go for a guy like Jurgen Klopp at the next opportunity.

He has to bring people in by the deadline, he just has to.

Imagine we lose to Spurs and don't buy anybody? .......I think Wenger will be lynched

You look at Spurs and they have spent maybe around 100m this summer it's crazy.

They must have done it in anticipation of the Bale sale. I don't believe they would have that kind of money without selling Bale.

But they do seem to be spending more than Arsenal in the last few seasons.

Without Bale, I think their biggest threat will be Paulinho surging forward unmarked. He bombs forward and has great sense of positioning inside the attacking box and I say he will be unmarked in advance because I don't think Wenger will adapt to that situation or do anything to neutralize this threat. He never changes the way he plays, so I doubt he will sacrifice Ramsey or Rosicky to take care of Paulinho.

I hope I'm wrong though and that we manage to win this more or less comfortably.

Draxler That won`t happen... way too much money. Cabaye I don`t think we need him...Ramsey took him out!(Reminds me of when we were in search for a GK- Sczeny eliminated any new comer) plus , Flamini is the extra mid+/LB/RB/DM.

By the way Wenger talks him up he sounds like the French -Parker. He`ll probably run endlessly and foul hard like a nutter.

I still think Arsenal are favourites for today's match. They play at home and this might come too soon for Spurs (team has to gel with all these new players).

Anyway, good luck and let's hope it will be a good match without controversy...

For the love of Christ no! I detest that cunt!

Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that he'll have his medical today...

This is just pathetic.
